Kirsten Dunst usually has a thing for rock stars, but it sounds like she's been checking out her other options recently. Life & Style is reporting that she went on a date with Kelly Slater at Ago in LA last week. No word of canoodling or getting cozy just yet, but apparently there was plenty of flirting and giggling. Cameron's BFF and rumored flame seems like an odd choice for Kirsten, but she does love her beach fun in his home state of Hawaii. Kirsten may have to slap on some SPF for surf lessons soon.

In less surprising Kirsten news, the actress just signed on to take over as the face of Miu Miu for the Spring campaign. This seems like a more logical fit than jumping onto the water with Kelly Slater, but with quirky Kirsten we never know what to expect.

Two of our favorite rising stars, Shia LaBeouf and Zooey Deschanel, hit the blue carpet this weekend to premiere their new animated movie Surf's Up. In the film, they lend their voices to two penguins headed to the annual World Surfing Penguin Championship. Sounds pretty cute, but we're more excited about Shia and Zooey getting more projects and more exposure lately. As much as we enjoy writing about the tabloid fixtures, we love having new faces to write about - especially ones with so much talent.

Cameron Diaz had a lot to be happy about this weekend, and whatever is so hilarious on her friend Kelly Slater's camera is just the beginning. On Friday, Cameron moseyed her way back up to Vegas to spend some more time with Criss Angel Mindfreak. The two had a romantic dinner and hit up some of the local hotspots, which is all well and good, but I want to hear whether he is wooing her with some of his magic. If she was trying to take her mind off the stress of opening weekend for Shrek the Third, she had no reason to worry. The green ogre raked it in this weekend, easily claiming the #1 spot. The $122 Million was the third biggest opening weekend ever, and the #1 biggest for an animated movie. See, all that and checking out some awesome photos with a buddy? Good times.

Matthew and Kate took some time away from shooting Fool's Gold to hang out with Cameron's buddy Kelly Slater at the Quicksilver Pro over the weekend. Kate may be back with Owen, but that doesn't mean she can't make time for hot bare-chested friends. Matt wasn't just at the event for pleasure, though; he was also doing research for a new surf film he's doing. Here's more:

And McConaughey said he wasn't just visiting the season-opening world surfing contest for pleasure. "The next film I'm doing is a surf film," he revealed. "A lot of this is for leisure and pleasure but also looking around and keeping an eye open for what happens and what goes on in the tournaments."

It's no secret that MM loves to surf, so it's funny that he still considers himself an amateur considering all those hours he spends on the beach.

Looks like Cameron had a Valentine's date after all with the apparently well-endowed Kelly Slater. Recently Kelly said that he and Cameron were just friends but he's obviously just being a gentleman. We thought the time they spent together in Hawaii was a fling but the two just can't seem to stay away from each other. Last night Cammie helped Kelly celebrate his 35th birthday at Mercedes Grill & Sushi Bar in Marina del Rey. Pamela Anderson was also on hand so you know they all had a great time.

Ever since her break-up with Justin, Cameron has been hitting the gym like it's her job. She has obviously been working off some steam (and after seeing the highlights from JT's newest video, can't blame her). She also looked to be on quite the workout schedule while she was in Oahu with Kelly Slater. Kelly however says the physical activity between the two is strictly platonic. "We're just friends," he said last week at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Tournament. When asked how his friend Cammie was feeling after the break-up he said, "She's doing well." While we still think they would look hot as more than friends, it's good for Cammie that not all the men in her life are after her romantically. Plus, she'll never have to lose her new surfing buddy because of a nasty break-up.

Well isn't Hawaii just the perfect getaway locale for Cameron? Not only does she get to play in the waves every day, but it's also the home to some of the best offerings in another of her hobbies of choice -- golf. Wheeee. Cameron and totally just a friend Hawaii activity partner, Kelly Slater, took in 18 holes yesterday with another couple. Not that Cameron and Kelly are a couple. At all. Ever.

But I still think they should be.

Kelly's mom is insisting that the two are just friends, but we beg to differ. The two have been seen all over together along Oahu's North Shore. She arrived Tuesday, and he evidently cleared his whole schedule to spend the week with her. Wednesday they were seen having dinner at Haleiwa Joe's, and Friday they went grocery shopping together. During the week they hit the beach and got in a round of golf at the Turtle Bay Resort. They haven't been completely joined at the hip, though. Cammie was seen shopping Kelly-free at the Ala Moana Center in Honolulu. Reps for both, of course can't be reached for comment so we'll just have to wait and see on this one.

Cameron Diaz is in Hawaii visiting her friend, professional surfer Kelly Slater. The two have been seen cavorting all over the North Shore of Oahu, but his mom has been quick to say that the two are just friends. Likely story. InTouch reports:

“They have been friends for a long time,” Judy Slater said from her home in Cocoa Beach, Fla. “Every time somebody sees somebody else eating dinner, they think it’s a romantic thing. It’s silly.”

...Asked if she believed Cameron was using Kelly to get away, Judy said: “She might be — I don’t know. She just called him and asked if she could come over for a few days. It was nothing they had planned.”

Cameron and Kelly, both 34, have known each other since meeting on a 2005 conservation expedition to Honduras for the MTV show Trippin’.

Well fine, even if the two are nothing more than friends, you gotta admit that they would make a pretty smoking couple. Hey, maybe this little visit will result in something more for Cammie and Slater. JT deserves a little time as the jealous party for a change.
