Rachel's Getting Married But Anne Is Just Dating

Anne Hathaway posed pretty at the Venice Film Festival earlier today promoting her new movie Rachel Getting Married.

Anne Hathaway posed pretty at the Venice Film Festival earlier today promoting her new movie Rachel Getting Married. Judging by the trailer, she plays a bit of a badass but in real life she's still nursing a broken heart not helped by an upcoming story in Vanity Fair that reveals how she called ex Rafaello Follieri the love of her life. Thankfully, it sounds like she's starting to move on. According to Life & Style, she was spotted getting cozy with hot Josh Lucas at the Democratic National Convention last week. At the very least it sounds like they have politics in common even if it's nothing more than friendly rebound flirting for Anne.

Shining Stars of the Venice Film Festival

There are stars and then there are shining stars.
Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, and More Celebrities Attend the 2008 Venice Film Festival

There are stars and then there are shining stars. At the 2008 Venice Film Festival, a slew of actresses and models flew overseas to attend, but only a handful shined. There were plenty of arenas to flaunt their fashions — movie premieres, photocalls, parties — and the likes of Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman went all out. The screening of Valentino: The Last Emperor especially brought out a stylish crop. Enter the Venician red carpet.

Josh, Diane and Natalie's Labor Free Long Weekend in Venice

The Venice Film Festival rolled on over the Labor Day long weekend bringing out some of our favorite red carpet faces.

The Venice Film Festival rolled on over the Labor Day long weekend bringing out some of our favorite red carpet faces. Natalie Portman arrived solo showing off a new hairdo to accept a humanitarian award, premiere her directorial debut short film Eve and catch a few other red carpets. You don't see a lot of t-shirts and jeans around the glitzy festival, but Natalie pulled it off between gorgeous gowns. The excellent Josh Jackson and Diane Kruger posed at the Jaeger Le-Coultre Gala Dinner — from the look in his eyes, Diane's beauty wasn't lost on Josh. Thankfully last night she was on hand to make sure Josh was looking perfectly dapper since we know he appreciates her help. She's got even more to smile about these days, signing on to star alongside Brad Pitt and others in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. Lucky girl.

Charlize, Claire, Elizabeth, and Diane Honor Emperor Valentino

Even without Brad and George, the Venice Film Festival kept up the glitz, and last night the glamour got a little more gorgeous.

Even without Brad and George, the Venice Film Festival kept up the glitz, and last night the glamour got a little more gorgeous. It was a screening of Valentino: The Last Emperor that brought out all these gowns on the likes of Claire Danes on the arm of Hugh Dancy, Charlize Theron fresh from the DNC, stunning Elizabeth Hurley posing with Valentino, and Diane Kruger sadly without Josh Jackson. It's only right that a movie honoring the designer has such a marquee red carpet heating up the late Summer night in beautiful Italy.

Clooney Keeps It Classy While His Ex Keeps Digging

George Clooney got a break from promoting Burn After Reading at the Venice Film Festival yesterday to catch up with an old friend, British TV personality Mariella Frostrup.

George Clooney got a break from promoting Burn After Reading at the Venice Film Festival yesterday to catch up with an old friend, British TV personality Mariella Frostrup. While he's been perfectly happy walking the red carpets with Brad, his former lucky lady Sarah Larson is doing her best to show that she's not jealous. Apparently she's moved on to dating a promoter and was spotted around Las Vegas with her new man last weekend. Whether or not George has a new woman in his life or just some beautiful friends, it's clear who is getting the last laugh in that breakup.

Brad, Mad, and Pax Cruise Out of Venice

Brad and his boys arrived in Venice for the film festival just two days ago, but they were already boarding their water taxi on their way back to France today.

Brad and his boys arrived in Venice for the film festival just two days ago, but they were already boarding their water taxi on their way back to France today. It was a busy couple of days for Brad dad, who posed and partied with BFF George Clooney to promote Burn After Reading and still found time to pick up a trophy for Best Actor for his work in The Assassination of Jesse James. We would have loved to see more of Pax and Maddox during their trip to Italy, but thankfully there's still that spread in W magazine to look forward to.

Brad and George Tuxedo Up and Hit The Burn Premiere

It's tuxedo time for Brad and George!

It's tuxedo time for Brad and George! The boys hit the big red-carpet premiere of Burn After Reading this evening at the Venice Film Festival, dressed to the nines and ready to steal the show. Of course, all their co-stars were there as were the Coen brothers, but forgive us, this week it's all about Pitt and Clooney. It sounds like last night went that way too as the guys partied the night away celebrating being back together until the wee hours of the morning with lots of drinks to go around. It can't have been too rough of a night for Brad and George — they were looking sharp and on their game with the reporters early this morning at the photocall. Now, we'll just have to wait and hear how night number two of the guy's reunion goes down in Venice.

Brad and George Share Red Carpet and Pitt's Children in Venice

The Brad Pitt and George Clooney two man Venice Film Festival show rolled on, this time swapping their dark suits for light ones to meet up with co-stars Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand and the Coen brothers at a Burn After Reading photocall today.

The Brad Pitt and George Clooney two man Venice Film Festival show rolled on, this time swapping their dark suits for light ones to meet up with co-stars Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand and the Coen brothers at a Burn After Reading photocall today. The handsome duo arrived by boat again with smiles, laughs and autographs for fans. During the session, when reporters got a little personal, the close friends kept things light by stepping in for each other and joking around. Here's more:

  • When a reported asked Brad about the babies, George answered: "The twins are fine."
  • When Brad was asked if he'd rather win an Oscar or fall in love with a beautiful woman, George answered: "Brad, don't answer that."
  • When George was asked about settling down and having kids they both answered: George: "I am so surprised to hear that question. That is honestly the first time I’ve been asked that question. I am getting married and having children today. Brad?" Brad: "And until then I’ll be sharing mine with him. I’ll have two more by next year."
  • Both also answered when asked abut missing the convention in Denver: George: "I'm happy to be here. This is one of my favorite places in the world to be. I like to watch the conventions on TV. I think the stars of the convention should be the people who are being elected. I'm pessimistic, but I'm optimistic. I think it's a very exciting time in American politics."Pitt: "I'm optimistic, too. It's a vital time. It's a defining time. I'm excited about where things are going."

They went on to joke that they only share one scene in the movie thanks to a restraining order. While we miss seeing them at the DNC, Venice is even better and thanks to tonight's red carpet premiere the Brad and George fun is not over yet.

George and Brad Are on Our Watch in Handsome Suits

George Clooney and Brad Pitt changed out of their casual boating attire and into some dapper suits for last night's charity gala to benefit their organization, Not On Our Watch, at the Venice Film Festival.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt changed out of their casual boating attire and into some dapper suits for last night's charity gala to benefit their organization, Not On Our Watch, at the Venice Film Festival. The boys looked handsome as ever and happy to be back with each other to also promote their new movie Burn After Reading. Brad arrived with two of his sons, Maddox and Pax, earlier in the day, but it looks like the little guys sat this party out. Seeing photos of these two extremely manjoyable actors always puts a smile on our faces, but I'm even more excited to see the pictures with Brad behind the camera photographing his family for W magazine.
