Come Inside the Governors Ball

After the big show in the Kodak Theater, the first stop for many of the attendees was the Governors Ball.

After the big show in the Kodak Theater, the first stop for many of the attendees was the Governors Ball. Along with attending this year's Oscars via the red carpet and the press room, we were fortunate enough to have a ticket to the fancy affair. While on the inside we watched the celebrities feast on their Wolfgang Puck meal set in the Asian-themed room decor. Celebs made their way through additional television press, which included a lot of singing from the youngest of the Slumdog cast, who were some of the last to arrive. Anne Hathaway continued to make it a family affair posing with her brother. She was being greeted nonstop and barely found any time to eat her meal, which included a three-tiered chocolate dessert with an Oscar on the top. Robert Pattinson and fellow teen heartthrob Zac Efron chatted and toasted with Vanessa Hudgens before heading over to the VF afterparty. There was lots of casual mingling with peers in the ballroom and some took a few smoking breaks on the side. Heidi and Seal continued to make the rounds, but were they your favorite Oscar couple of the night?

Winners and Stars Spread Out the Afterparty Love

After the Oscars were all the afterparties, and while Vanity Fair and Elton John may have drawn the most star-studded crowds, there seemed to be a celebrity attendee at all of them.

After the Oscars were all the afterparties, and while Vanity Fair and Elton John may have drawn the most star-studded crowds, there seemed to be a celebrity attendee at all of them. Hilary Duff swung by Leeza Gibbons's 1st Annual Night to Make a Difference where she was joined by Paris Hilton and Jessica Biel, who was out of her worst-dressed contending gown and into something more bright. Elsewhere in town Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth walked the red carpet at a party benefiting Children Uniting Nations.

The Slumdog Millionaire kids were still giddy from their best picture win, staying up way past their bedtimes for a party honoring their movie and The Wrestler. Freida Pinto danced the night away while Dev Patel kept an eye on his younger castmates. Mickey Rourke had other things to do on the big night, despite the fact that he was beaten out by his friend Sean Penn. The parties went on until the wee hours of the morning — it looks like no one wanted the night to end, especially the winners.

Posh, Eva, and More Help Elton Raise Money After the Oscars

For many stars, Elton John's annual charitable Oscar party was the destination last night, and for others it was a stop along the way.

For many stars, Elton John's annual charitable Oscar party was the destination last night, and for others it was a stop along the way. Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, and Chace Crawford were just a handful of the beautiful people who stepped out to attend his 17th Oscar bash, which raised $4 million for AIDS by the end of the night. Kate Beckinsale had her husband Len as her date, while Ben Stiller ditched his Joaquin beard to chat up Ryan Seacrest. Elton took his turn at the piano to play "Benny and the Jets" for his guests and also shared a few words, saying, "People are going through tremendous hardship. In this time of hardship, we are going to raise as much money as we possibly can."

Simon Cowell looked happy to have Terri Seymour back on his arm after their recent split, while Quincy Jones was especially proud of his date, daughter Rashida. Claire Danes celebrated with her new fiance Hugh Dancy, and fellow musicians Josh Groban and Carrie Underwood got to take a night off from performing to celebrate a different aspect of the entertainment industry. Elton's was just one of the many star-studded afterparties the night offered, but combining a special cause with the festivities was an added Oscar night bonus.
