The red carpet at the 2010 CMA Awards in Nashville brought together lovely ladies from both the music and acting worlds last night. Cohost Carrie Underwood chose a slate gray Talbot Runhof gown for her arrival while Gwyneth Paltrow went with a sexy, side-baring Atelier Versace dress for her country music debut. Gwyneth's Country Strong costar Leighton Meester mixed things up in Emilio Pucci and Taylor Swift went with a bold red Monique Lhuillier. W cover girl Katherine Heigl, who was there to support her brother-in-law Lady Antebellum lead singer Charles Kelley, showed up in a bright blue strapless Farah Angsana number and was just one of the gorgeous girls with a flawless face.
Carrie opened the show with a musical number alongside Brad Paisley, who was named Entertainer of the Year, before changing into an array of gorgeous looks throughout the night. Nicole Kidman watched from the audience in white Dolce & Gabbana as her husband Keith Urban took the stage while Katherine and Josh Kelley cheered on Lady Antebellum as they accepted two statues. Gwyneth geared up for her big night with a pint of beer, and her much-anticipated live performance didn't disappoint — what did you think? She was game for a little teasing by Carrie and Brad, who asked if she could score them Coldplay tickets, though Chris Martin wasn't there to watch his wife's musical number. Taylor Swift didn't continue her winning streak, but she did take the stage to perform "Back to December" — congrats to everyone honored during country's big evening!

It was enough to make you want to tune in and was the performance you were most excited to hear tonight, so here it is: Gwyneth Paltrow performing "Country Strong" at this evening's CMA Awards in Nashville. It's a track from her holiday movie release of the same name, and all week Gwyneth has been talking about calming her nerves before her big national TV singing debut. She looked confident on stage, guitar in hand, showing off her amazing legs and impressive voice. Check out her show below and tell us — are you so impressed or was she out of place?
Lots of stars — both country and Hollywood city slickers — came out for the 2010 CMAs. There was some truly lovely styling, and some stuff that just left me feeling a little meh. See what your favorite stars looked like right now and vote for yourself.
Taylor Swift shares her grief for a friend who recently passed away while accepting an award at the BMI Country Awards in Nashville. Check it out on PopSugar Rush!
Tonight is the 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards, and besides the country stars that will be there to collect statues and celebrate each other, the show will be infiltrated by Hollywood this year. Gwyneth Paltrow is set to perform a song from her upcoming movie Country Strong, in which she plays a country singer.
I don't usually get excited about the CMAs, but I'm curious to see Paltrow channel her onscreen character onstage. She learned to play the guitar for the role, and she showed off her chops in a music video for the movie, so what better place to prove herself as a faux country star than in front of tons of real country stars? Tell me, will you watch the CMAs for Gwyneth?
