2010 Tribeca Film Festival

James Franco stepped out yesterday to support his short documentary Saturday Night during the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. The piece, which already won awards at the SXSW Festival, is a behind-the-scenes look at the week leading up to hosting SNL, and stars from the show like Kenan Thompson, Will Forte, and Jenny Slate were there to attend the premiere with James. After the red carpet, James headed inside for a screening and a Q&A session where he said the goal of his piece was to find out "what that mysterious comedy process was." James's directorial effort was one of two projects he had playing at Tribeca, as he also starred in a movie created by one of his NYU professors called William Vincent.

Sarah Jessica Parker continued her Tribeca Film Festival circuit looking shimmery fresh at the Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston premiere in NYC. The actress turned Halston CCO wore a sequin slip dress layered with a thin cashmere v-neck sweater — both by Stella McCartney. The SATC star then added texture via a bedazzled heart pendant necklace, chain cross-body bag, and reptilian Brian Atwood t-strap platform sandals.

Jessica Alba brought her attention grabbing Louboutins and skintight dress to the Tribeca Film Festival awards show and bash last night. The birthday girl turned 29 on Wednesday, which she and Cash Warren got to celebrate with a big evening out before her continued duties mean travel to DC and back to NY over the next few days. Jessica kept the drama to her outfit this time, unlike the other night when she set off the hotel fire alarm while making dinner for Honor, whoops! Fellow TFF juror Peter Facinelli stepped out to help hand out the prizes while Abbie Cornish and Selma Blair kept the sultry glamour levels high. Channing Tatum was vested up and smiley even without his wife, Jenna Dewan — the Mrs. also got to show off another side of her work this week in Christina Aguilera's sexy new video.

There were many more events all over NYC last night as the Tribeca Film Festival rolled on with premieres and parties. Colin Farrell and his girlfriend Alicja Bachleda hit the red carpet to support their movie Ondine, which was the project that brought them together in the first place. Nikki Reed was also there to pose for photos, evidently not joining her Eclipse costars like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner up in Vancouver. Across town at the Odean, Chanel threw their annual dinner with a trio of starlets in Abbie Cornish, Kristen Bell, and Selma Blair. Juror Peter Facinelli represented the Twilight crew, though he took a break from the judging to mingle with special Fab guest writer Rachel Zoe.

Kate Hudson took last night off from working on Something Borrowed to attend the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her thriller The Killer Inside Me. She joined costars Jessica Alba and Casey Affleck, who brought his wife, Summer Phoenix. Jess was arm in arm with her own spouse Cash Warren, and was decked out in a boho-chic look for her evening off from serving as one of the festival's jurors. Abbie Cornish also made it out for her latest Tribeca event. Kate picked a black Louis Vuitton dress for the occasion, though her and Jess's characters in the movie wore vintage pieces from the '50s.

Kate's LBD almost encountered a major problem when a gust of wind rolled through and she risked a Marilyn Monroe moment, but Jessica was there to save the day. Meanwhile, the cast of Please Give headed out for their own press call. Catherine Keener, Oliver Platt, and Rebecca Hall joined new mom Amanda Peet — she and her husband David Benioff welcomed their second daughter, Molly, just eight days ago! On her baby's arrival, Amanda said, "So far, so good! She's great. I'm in love with her!"
