Russell Brand Tempts Katy Perry Into an Icy Outing

Stylish couple Russell Brand and Katy Perry were in sync last night as they made their way down the red carpet at the LA premiere of his latest comedy, The Tempest.

Stylish couple Russell Brand and Katy Perry were in sync last night as they made their way down the red carpet at the LA premiere of his latest comedy, The Tempest. Katy skipped the holiday hair accessories and opted to coordinate her Elie Saab gown with her husband's icy gray suit. Russell and Katy will be spending their first holiday together as a married couple, however, she already received an extraordinary gift from her peers in the music industry with the news of her four Grammy nominations. The infectious lyrics of "California Gurls" made it one of the most inescapable songs of the year and earned Katy and her lyrical partner Snoop Dogg a 2011 People's Choice nomination for favorite song — don't forget today's your last chance to cast your votes!

Helen Mirren Smites Russell Brand in The Tempest Trailer

In the classic Shakespeare play The Tempest, a magician and rightful duke named Prospero is banished to a distant island by his jealous brother, who seeks the crown.

In the classic Shakespeare play The Tempest, a magician and rightful duke named Prospero is banished to a distant island by his jealous brother, who seeks the crown. Julie Taymor gives her film adaptation a girl power makeover, turning Prospero into Prospera and making her leading lady (Helen Mirren) the wife of a duke. When her conniving brother-in-law, Antonio (Chris Cooper), accuses Propsera of killing her husband with witchcraft, she's sent away on a ship with her 4-year-old daughter. She conjures a storm to lure Antonio to the island she and her daughter have been inhabiting.

It sounds like typical Shakespeare tragedy (murder! treason! banishment!) but The Tempest is actually a comedy, and the trailer's got some funny moments (thanks to Russell Brand and Alfred Molina). If you're expecting to see Brand branching out from his typical fare, then you may be disappointed, but he's oddly fitting here as a jester. As expected for a film about a sorcerer, there's also special effects to spare here — not to mention a stellar cast. Check it out after the jump.

The Governor's Ball Brings Out January, Tina, Jon, and Emmy Night's Big Winners!

Jimmy Fallon sang and danced as host of the Emmys in LA last night, and the fun kept coming for him and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, as they moved on to the Governor's Ball with other winners, nominees, and presenters.

Jimmy Fallon sang and danced as host of the Emmys in LA last night, and the fun kept coming for him and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, as they moved on to the Governor's Ball with other winners, nominees, and presenters. Mad Men's Jon Hamm raised a glass to his show nabbing its third consecutive best outstanding drama series award — do you agree with its win? New mom Amy Poehler stuck close to Tina Fey, while Kevin Bacon couldn't take his eyes off his lovely wife and best actress in a drama honoree, Kyra Sedgwick. Lost's Michael Emerson chatted with costars Daniel Dae Kim and Henry Ian Cusick, as The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev chatted with best supporting actor in a drama Aaron Paul. He totally won Buzz over with his cute press room excitement right after hitting the stage.

January Jones, meanwhile, cuddled up to her special date, Jason Sudeikis, in her show-stopping Versace gown along with Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston. The Glee kids, like Mark Salling, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Chris Colfer, celebrated Ryan Murphy and Jane Lynch's wins all together. We've got you covered for TV's biggest night — make sure to check out shots from the red carpet, exciting behind-the-scenes press room photos, and Buzz has the entire list of winners here!

Movie Preview: Amanda Seyfried in Boogie Woogie

Somewhere along the line, ensemble casts became synonymous with ensemble romantic comedies, which inspire an infinitely more polarizing reaction.

Somewhere along the line, ensemble casts became synonymous with ensemble romantic comedies, which inspire an infinitely more polarizing reaction. Boogie Woogie has an ensemble cast, but cutesy parallel lives and courtships are definitely not the order of the day. Instead, it's the scandalous London art world at the center, and the stars in its orbit include Amanda Seyfried, Heather Graham, Stellan Skarsgard, Gillian Anderson, Alan Cumming, and Christopher Lee.

The scene of international art provides a backdrop for business, backstabbing, and sex (not necessarily in that order), which I wouldn't be scrambling to see, but the cast is intriguing. Seyfried again seems to be establishing herself as a sex kitten, and I love that Anderson is appearing in something that's not X-Files-related. Will these actors be enough to get you to check out Boogie Woogie?

Anne Hathaway joined NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and actor Alan Cumming last night for the annual dinner thrown by the Empire State Pride Agenda, which works to advance LGBT causes in the region. Anne's enjoying a little break from work after her Summer filming Valentine's Day and doing Shakespeare in the Park, but she'll soon be gearing up to take on another kind of role — she's in talks to star in the animated film Rio along with NPH. Anne looked a little less fancy this morning, when she and boyfriend Adam Shulman headed out to run some errands in the city.

Cameron and Jimmy Let Their Geek Flags Fly at Webbys

The 13th Annual Webby Awards brought out a few tech-savvy famous faces in NYC last night.

The 13th Annual Webby Awards brought out a few tech-savvy famous faces in NYC last night. The acceptance speeches have to be kept to five words at the annual event and Jimmy Fallon debuted his on his show last night — "Thank god Conan got promoted" — when he won Webby Person of the Year. Cameron Diaz, who shows her geeky side with her Kindle loving, presented her friend with the statue and had a laugh up on stage in front of the audience. Alessandra Ambrosio helped accept for Best Fashion Site on behalf of Victoria's Secret saying, "Victoria's Secret: sexy lingerie. Yeah!"

Sad Sarah, Saucy Kathy and Mad Men Already Winning Emmys

One week before next weekend's Primetime Emmy Awards lots of stars of the small screen came out in LA on Saturday for the presentation of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

One week before next weekend's Primetime Emmy Awards lots of stars of the small screen came out in LA on Saturday for the presentation of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The show airs Saturday and was hosted by two of my favorites, Sarah Chalke and Neil Patrick Harris, who kept the laughs coming. As expected, Mad Men and John Adams both took home multiple statues — check out all the winners here. Kathy Griffin kept things raunchy when she won again while Sarah Silverman's acceptance speech for "I'm F*cking Matt Damon" was uncharacteristically touching. She said, "Let's be honest, Matt Damon had very little to do with this being popular. . . Thanks to the person for whom this whole video was made: Jimmy Kimmel, who broke my heart – who'll always have a place in my heart." She deserves the award for her hilarious video and hopefully it's more than just a reminder of her rough split.

Stars From Casual to Glamorous Give Us Their Elegy

Just one night after her big Vicky Cristina Barcelona premiere in LA, Penelope Cruz was in another long black dress for the Elegy screening in NYC last night.

Just one night after her big Vicky Cristina Barcelona premiere in LA, Penelope Cruz was in another long black dress for the Elegy screening in NYC last night. She left the rest of her gorgeous costars, including Javier, behind for this one, but had plenty of glamorous party friends. Peter Sarsgaard had his costar and friend Patricia Clarkson filling in while Maggie was elsewhere. Love me some Gerard Butler, but he could use a little work on those red carpet poses. This looks like another intense one from Miss Cruz, though considering her other release this summer involves a love scene with Scarlett, I'm guessing whatever happens on the big screen with Ben Kingsley in this movie won't be making as many headlines.

Donatella Just Wants to Gossip About Halle

Leighton Meester reaped one of the more fashionable benefits of starring on Gossip Girl, posing with Donatella herself at the Versace Menswear Launch at Barneys in NYC yesterday — get Leighton's look here. Donatella left her adorable furry friend at home for the event and seemed to be more interested in weighing in on Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry's new baby. She hasn't met little Nahla yet, but is already making predictions about her beauty, saying, "I cannot imagine a better looking baby than this one." Maybe Donatella will have the whole family over soon — just don't expect it to be at the Versace villa in Lake Como.

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon were among the presenters at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in NYC last night, where outlets such as CNN.com, the NY Times, and GQ were all applauded for their work this year. When Barbara Walters was honored for her reporting on transgendered children she said, "You can forget all the Emmys . . . this means more to me." Randy Jackson took a break from American Idol mode to make it to the award ceremony and present as well. Tim Gunn was one of our favorite faces at the event, who happily sang the praises of Christian Siriano, calling him the Marc Jacobs of Christian's generation. Quite the bold statement, but we wouldn't be surprised if Christian starts raking in the awards himself in the future.
