Tina Fey stepped out in NYC on Friday to promote her new book, Bossypants, at the Union Square Barnes & Noble. She was game for a Q&A moderated by The New Yorker's editor, David Remnick, where the comedienne talked about her writing, family, and TV show 30 Rock. Tina also cracked a joke about her 5-year-old daughter Alice's comedy skills, saying, "Between 2 and 3 [years old Alice] was inadvertently writing a lot for Tracy Jordan. [While playing with Barbies, Alice had one doll say to the other] 'You know the most romantic part of the human body is the butt.' How has Tracy not said that?" The hard promotional work is already paying off, as the publication is resting near the top of Amazon's best-sellers list. Tina had her husband, Jeff Richmond, and Alice for company on a walk in the Big Apple yesterday, but it was her fellow mom-to-be Jane Krakowski who turned out for the premiere of Catch Me If You Can on Broadway last night. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick also went along with their son, James Wilkie, as they took advantage of a chance to socialize during a break from prepping for their big move.
Tina Gets Alice in the School Spirit as She Preps For a New Mad Man on 30 Rock
Tina Fey walked her daughter, Alice, to school in NYC this morning. Tina's fifth season of 30 Rock is off to a strong start, and it's currently your favorite of NBC's Thursday lineup. She also found time to pop up in Amy Poehler's SNL opening and is set to be honored with PBS's American Humor Award. Next week she's taking on a new adventure when 30 Rock performs live episodes, which marks the return of her Emmy dance partner, Jon Hamm, to the show. Later this year she'll reportedly welcome another Mad Men actor, John Slattery, as a guest star. While Tina is best known for cracking up adults, she has a project that even Alice can enjoy coming soon when her animated movie Megamind hits theaters in early November.
Tina Fey's Family Called Her "Baby" Until She Was 29
Funny woman Tina Fey said her family called her "baby" until she was 29. We bet she won't make it a pet name for her 4-year-old daughter, Alice. Even when they try to be cool, parents inevitably do something that annoys their offspring. Whether it be a nickname like the famed comedian endured or an action that makes a child's skin crawl, kids are outing their creators on an upcoming show. On May 16, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: So NOT Cool: The Most Annoying Stuff Parents Say And Do is set to air on Nickelodeon. Along with featuring celebrities like Fey, Jenna Elfman, Brad Garrett, and Maya Rudolph, youngsters will chime in with their gripes. In Nick's online poll, kiddos ranked the following from one to 10.
It’s so annoying when parents...
10)…say, “Go ask your mom!” or “Go ask your dad!”
9)…obsess about things that don’t matter.
8)…say, “Because I said so, that’s why!”
7)…say, “When I was your age…”
6)…say, “When you’re older, you’ll understand.”
5)…tell old and really corny jokes to my friends.
4)…treat me like a little kid.
3)…nag me.
2)…say, “Act your age!”
1) And, finally, the number-one MOST annoying thing kids say parents do is when parents…don’t act their age!
Will you watch the show as a family and figure out how you can curtail your embarrassing behaviors?
