Javier Bardem Is a Biutiful Sight Despite Golden Globe Surprise

Javier Bardem and his handsome, clean-shaven face were the center of attention at last night's LA screening of Biutiful.

Javier Bardem and his handsome, clean-shaven face were the center of attention at last night's LA screening of Biutiful. The film earned a Golden Globe nomination in the Best Foreign Picture category, though Javier's lack of an acting nod was one of our biggest surprises from yesterday's announcement. The Screen Actors Guild list is out tomorrow, so perhaps we will still be seeing Javier receive award season accolades. Outside of his professional success, Javier has had a landmark year in terms of his personal life. His Summer wedding to Penelope Cruz was among our favorite celebrity nuptials, and the newlyweds are expecting their first baby in 2011! Penelope's bump is well covered up in the first Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides trailer, though hopefully we'll be seeing more of the adorable couple's PDA as they prepare for their exciting arrival. Check out pictures from yesterday's premiere, where both Melanie Griffith and Andy Garcia brought their beautiful daughters Dakota and Dominik.

New York, I Love You: A Jigsaw Puzzle That Doesn't Quite Fit

As a city with so much personality and penchant for possibility, it's no surprise that the follow-up to Paris, Je t'aime heads to New York.

As a city with so much personality and penchant for possibility, it's no surprise that the follow-up to Paris, Je t'aime heads to New York. New York, I Love You is a tale of the connections and personal missteps that occur every single day in the city that never sleeps. It plays out like a movie version of a song mash-up: some story lines are linear and independent of the rest while other characters wander in and out of each other's lives. Throw an all-star cast in there, and you could possibly have a recipe for perfection.

Unfortunately, the ingredients don't blend together as well as I had hoped, and instead we're left with an engaging but bland look at a handful of trials and tribulations in relationships. To see what I mean, just read more

The game was close, but the hometown team pulled out the big win. The audience was star-studded as usual including familiar faces like Zac Efron and Jack Nicholson while Ellen Pompeo and MIA had their men by their sides. Kim Kardashian excitedly twittered about heading to the game with Reggie Bush, though she was rooting for her friend LaLa's boyfriend Carmelo Anthony on the Nuggets. The Lakers have the chance to win the series in Denver tomorrow, but if they have to come home for game seven their celebrity good luck charms will be there to cheer them on.

Many familiar faces were in the stands yesterday at the Staples Center in LA to see the Lakers beat the Rockets and earn their way to the Western conference finals. Loyal fan Kate Hudson brought Ryder along, joining other celebs like Russell Brand, Nicky Hilton and David Arquette. Adam Levine took a break from romancing Cameron Diaz to sit courtside next to Denzel Washington, who was getting eyed up by Mindy Kaling. Elsewhere, controversial pals Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes had an awkward run-in at the bar. The Lakers win means more star-studded front rows as they take on the Denver Nuggets.

JT Makes Jokes and Helps Honor Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson was honored by friends and colleagues last night at the American Cinematheque gala in LA.

Samuel L. Jackson was honored by friends and colleagues last night at the American Cinematheque gala in LA. The event was sponsored by AMC, so Jon Hamm was out with his girlfriend to support Mad Men's home network, while JT hammed it up on stage. To help roast his former costar, he said, "I am here because onscreen and off, I feel nothing but love for the great Samuel L. Jackson. At least for tonight that mysterious 'L' stands for 'Love,' man love — and there's nothing wrong with it." Kerry Washington and Denzel Washington were also among the celebrity presenters of the night, but we'll have to watch it on Dec. 9 to see who stole the show.

The High School Musical Seniors Are Approaching Graduation

After taking their movie all over the world, the High School Musical kids were back on their home turf to premiere the third and final installment of the franchise in LA last night.

After taking their movie all over the world, the High School Musical kids were back on their home turf to premiere the third and final installment of the franchise in LA last night. Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens looked like king and queen of the senior prom while Ashley Tisdale debuted her new darker hair. Fellow Disney star Selena Gomez was there to support her pals, and there were plenty of other celebs and their kids to check out the film. It must be a bittersweet end for the cast who have grown close over the past few years, but rather than get nostalgic about their friendships, they were more interested in discussing what to get Zac for his 21st birthday tomorrow.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua Hits LA With Its Tail Wagging

Chihuahua lovers came together in LA last night at the premiere of Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Chihuahua lovers came together in LA last night at the premiere of Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman brought Lily Sheen to pose with two of the doggies who were the stars of the evening. I bet she went home asking for a new puppy. Jamie Lee Curtis and George Lopez also held the four-legged buddies before catching the fun-loving flick. Piper Perabo and Andy Garcia are two of the actors who are actually in the movie out to see the finished product before it hits theaters Oct. 3.

Celebs Come Out For Extra Exciting NBA Finals Game 4

Game four of the Celtics-Lakers NBA Finals was in LA last night, bringing out another star studded courtside audience to watch what turned out to be an amazing game.

Game four of the Celtics-Lakers NBA Finals was in LA last night, bringing out another star studded courtside audience to watch what turned out to be an amazing game. Of course the celebrity fans were out to cheer for the Lakers and for the first half it looked like it was going to be a shut out. David Beckham and Justin Timberlake made quite the manjoyable pair watching Becks' good buddy Kobe on the court. Will and Jada watched the game, but also found some time for loving. Tobey, another die hard Lakers fan, couldn't stay in his seat watching his boys blow their lead, which at its biggest was 24 points. (Sorry, go Celtics!) Game five is coming up on Sunday and you can bet that most of these familiar faces will be front and center for all the action.

Chopard Trophies Are More Than Just Jewels

The Cannes Film Festival kept on kicking last night with yet another formal affair.

The Cannes Film Festival kept on kicking last night with yet another formal affair. Chopard was handing out trophies to Omar Metwally, director Spike Lee and Tang Wei and considering the sponsor, there was no shortage of serious bling being worn. Most of the ladies kept it simple in black or white but sexy Salma Hayek stood out in her dark green dress. Gwyneth showed off her legs and love for funky shoes while Dita was wearing her usual uniform of a perfectly fitted dress and makeup galore. Adrien Brody and his facial hair kept the hot or not debate still going.

Another Trailer for Your Consideration: Beverly Hills Chihuahua

We've discussed some of the big trailers that premiered over the weekend, and now I would like to point your attention to another little summer movie preview hitting the Web.

We've discussed some of the big trailers that premiered over the weekend, and now I would like to point your attention to another little summer movie preview hitting the Web.

I think there are several ways to approach the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua (previously known as South of the Border): with excitement (singing dogs!), dread (what the heck is going on in Hollywood?), or wonderment at the jaw-droppingly ridiculous fact that this thing is happening. I've chosen the last approach because this thing is just so funny to me.

Not that you'll get any of this from the preview, but the movie's plot is summed up by IMDB as such: "While on vacation in Mexico, Chloe, a ritzy Beverly Hills chihuahua, finds herself lost and in need of assistance in order to get back home."

There are a bunch of celebrities lending their voices to this canine bonanza, including Drew Barrymore (Chloe), Salma Hayek, Edward James Olmos, Andy Garcia, and Cheech Marin. Of course, I'd only subject you to something like this on Cinco de Mayo, as you're probably more likely to be in the mood for this little song and dance number on a holiday. As the poster says, the chihuahuas will rise September 26. To check it out, read more
