Would You Admit to Having a Favorite Child?

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe .

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe . . . How do you choose? Way back at the beginning of the year, Kate Tietje wrote a post for Babble titled "Mom Confession: I Think I Love My Son a Little Bit More." While some parents praised her for her candor, most took her to task for her admission. My thoughts immediately returned to her article while watching Barbara Walters's 18th annual 10 Most Fascinating People special last night. Though Walters's decision to put the Kardashian family on her list at all is worthy of its own post, an exchange between Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim and their momager Kris caught me off guard:

Barbara: Who is your mom’s favorite?
Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim (simultaneously): Kim!
Kris: You know, I think it seems —
Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim (simultaneously): Just say it!
Kris: OK, yes, she’s my favorite. (Pause.) No, she’s not!
Khloe: Whoever gives her the most percentage rights [is her favorite].
Kris: No, that’s not true. Just the most attention.

As parents we often strive do things fair and square among our children, but it doesn't always work out that way. Sure, sometimes one tot ends up with a few more goldfish in her bowl than the other, but would you ever openly admit that you loved one child more than another?

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Show Off Their Twins on 20/20

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon held their son Moroccan and daughter Monroe during a recent taping of 20/20 at Mariah and Nick's NYC apartment with Barbara Walters.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon held their son Moroccan and daughter Monroe during a recent taping of 20/20 at Mariah and Nick's NYC apartment with Barbara Walters. The twins will make their TV — and world! — debut when the show airs this Friday on ABC. Mariah and Nick welcomed their first children in April and have kept them out of the spotlight since. Mariah did share a picture of her daughter, Monroe, on Twitter over the Summer, though it didn't show her precious face. Mariah has since been busy getting back in shape and she showed off her postbaby body during a trip to the beach in August. She's also made time for her singing career and will release a new version of her hit holiday song "All I Want For Christmas Is You" with Justin Bieber next month. Nick, meanwhile, is a highlight of the new comedy hit Up All Night, on which his character has a knack with kids.

81-Year-Old Asks 88-Year-Old For Sex Advice

After sort of asking Oprah if she's gay during an interview with 2010's most fascinating people, Barbara Walters poses another bold question: she asks fascinating person Betty White if 88-year-olds still have sex.

After sort of asking Oprah if she's gay during an interview with 2010's most fascinating people, Barbara Walters poses another bold question: she asks fascinating person Betty White if 88-year-olds still have sex. Granted the question is for viewers, but it makes Barbara sound like a 48-year-old worried about sex after menopause when she's actually 81 herself. I guess aging never gets easier, not even once you're old.

Oprah Is Not Gay, but Wouldn't It Be Great If She Were?

Barbara Walters reached into Oprah's soul and turned on the waterworks in an interview airing tomorrow night.

Barbara Walters reached into Oprah's soul and turned on the waterworks in an interview airing tomorrow night. When asked about her best friend Gayle King, Oprah began to tear up, saying Gayle is the mother she never had, the sister she always wanted, and the friend everyone deserves.

Those tears came to a halt when Barbara asked about those "dumb" rumors that she's gay.

"I have said we are not gay enough times. I'm not lesbian, I'm not even kind of lesbian, and the reason why it irritates me is because it means that somebody must think I'm lying, that's reason number one. Number 2, why would you want to hide it?"

Now I kind of wish Oprah was gay. Could you imagine what that would do for gay rights? Same-sex marriage would be passed in every state like tomorrow, and she could take everyone on a honeymoon!

Watch a clip from the interview below.
