The event was hosted by The Weinstein Company, and the whole crew had a lot to celebrate since they won their appeal to bring the movie's rating down from NC-17 to R yesterday. Ryan and Michelle have had a full week promoting the film on the East Coast, including at Tuesday's premiere, where Blake Lively was spotted sneaking in the side door. She stuck by Ryan's side for the afterparty, and this afternoon he addressed the rumors of romance. Ryan said of Blake, "She's an incredible actress; she's a good friend," and when asked more generally about relationships in the industry, he quipped, "You're not allowed to have friends in this business." Blake is known for her sexy style, and she earned new respect for her work in The Town, while Ryan's big heart and charm make him so very hot. Not to mention he doesn't take himself too seriously, which makes Blake, whatever their status, a very lucky girl.

Ryan Gosling's "Hey Girl" meme is way more flattering than Sad Keanu. Well, it's about time! The MPAA has finally seen the error of its ways, and it's swapping Blue Valentine's NC-17 rating so that the film is now classified as R. Harvey Weinstein appealed to the board in a hearing earlier today, which resulted in a unanimous vote to switch the rating. After seeing the movie ourselves, we agreed that the NC-17 was unjustified. We're glad to see it overturned.

The evening wasn't only for the cast, however, since Blake Lively was spotted quietly sneaking in to check out the film. The Gossip Girl star is no stranger to the city's red carpets, though this appearance will likely bring back up the rumors of a romance between her and Ryan. The two were spied on a Disneyland ice cream date earlier in the Fall, but at that point her rep said they were just friends. Since then, Blake split with Penn Badgley, while Gosling is still swinging single. He's been logging lots of time posing with Michelle Williams to promote their unexpectedly controversial love story, and his eloquence about the NC-17 rating is one of the things that makes him so sexy.

A lucky TSA agent administered a pat-down to Ryan Gosling Saturday at LAX before the actor boarded a plane for NYC, where he attended a special screening of Blue Valentine, hosted by the weekend's Saturday Night Live host, Robert De Niro, at the Tribeca Loft Grill. Michelle Williams threw on a printed dress to join Ryan following an afternoon spent close to her Brooklyn home with daughter Matilda and friends. Michelle and Ryan were also together on Thursday for another film event on the West Coast with Jake Gyllenhaal. Michelle has showed off a range of chic outfits for their various premieres, looking fantastic despite director Derek Cianfrance recently revealing that she gained 15 pounds by drinking ice cream and eating avocado sandwiches to play her role opposite Ryan last year.

Michelle Williams found herself in the enviable position of being between Ryan Gosling and Jake Gyllenhaal at last night's screening of Blue Valentine in LA. Jake sweetly played host for the event as Michelle's longtime close friend and he's also her daughter Matilda's godfather. Michelle is on the West Coast after toasting her film in NYC with Kate Winslet and in London with Dominic Cooper. Ryan has been holding down the promotional fort in California, and he recently participated in an Oscars hopefuls panel to chat about their movie. Michelle had her good friend Busy Philipps there as well, while Jake was rolling solo without his coffee mate Taylor Swift. Jake and Taylor were together in NYC over Thanksgiving, though, near his sister Maggie's place in Brooklyn. Maggie spoke about Jake and Taylor's budding romance at her own event yesterday, saying that spending the holiday with the lovebirds was "great."

Still, Michelle has a lot to smile about since her fears the rating would keep her out of the award season running are so far unfounded.
