Did you see the cute fellow sitting next to Rooney Mara? The camera caught the bearded guy as the best actress nominees were announced tonight at the Oscars. That's Rooney's boyfriend, Charlie McDowell.

The boy with the girl with the dragon tattoo is 28 and the son of Clockwork Orange's Malcolm McDowell and actress Mary Steenburgen, and his stepdad is Ted Danson. Charlie is also an aspiring director, the ex-boyfriend of Kristin Chenoweth, and a witty presence on Twitter. Via Charlie's Twitter account, he writes letters to the girls who live above him, aka GAM. A recent tweet, "Dear GAM, 'I'm a vegetarian now! Except for chicken, I love chicken . . . and fish . . . and bacon . . . and crab cakes..' I guess I'm a vegetarian too."

Kate Beckinsale and Rooney Mara were on hand for last night's Costume Designers Guild Awards in LA. Kate hit the red carpet with husband Len Wiseman, while Rooney wore J. Mendel and met up with her boyfriend Charlie McDowell inside. Other celebs to step out for the show included Jane Lynch, Amber Valletta, and Ellie Kemper. Jane hosted the show, which saw distinctions passed out to the costumers working on movies like The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, as well as TV shows lie Boardwalk Empire and Downton Abbey. Kate took home a statue as well. She took the stage to accept the Lacoste Spotlight Award, an honor which has gone to Halle Berry in the past.

She's in Sweden continuing to work on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series, though we got a great look at Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander last weekend with the debut of the first film's trailer. She and costar Daniel Craig also steam up the controversial first Girl With the Dragon Tattoo poster, Rooney especially since she appears to be naked in it. Charlie and 26-year-old Rooney have been dating for over a year, though he's best known as the son of Mary Steenburgen, who's now married to Ted Danson, and her first husband, Malcolm McDowell.
