Bradley Cooper was in good spirits at the Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, CA, today, sporting a stylish three-piece suit. The actor joined Bryan Cranston on the carpet for a pleasant exchange that had both actors laughing, then caught up with his Silver Linings Playbook costar Chris Tucker. Their film is up for several big awards today, including best feature, best screenplay, and best actor for Bradley.

Silver Linings Playbook and Beasts of the Southern Wild are the only best feature nominees that are also up for a best picture Oscar tomorrow. Bradley is also in the running for the Academy's best actor award, and he'll face off with Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Joaquin Phoenix, and Denzel Washington for the honor.

Jessica Chastain donned a blue Andrew Gn dress to attend the TheWrap’s pre-Oscars party held at the Four Seasons in LA last night. She was joined by her Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow, as well as Silver Linings Playbook's Chris Tucker and the film's director David O. Russell for the night out.

Jessica wasn't the only nominee celebrating ahead of Sunday's big show. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence paired up for a special pre-Oscars dinner party, and Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried joined other Les Misérables cast members at a separate bash. Oscar night is fast approaching, but it's not too late to fill out our Oscar ballot for a chance to win $1,000 and an iPad.

The BAFTA Awards may have come and gone, but the afterparties kept the stars celebrating all night long in London yesterday. After nabbing both the best picture and best director awards at the event earlier in the evening, Ben Affleck took Jennifer Garner to a party at the Grosvenor House hotel. Jennifer kept on her backless Roland Mouret gown, but bundled up in a black coat as she made her way through the chilly London streets. Meanwhile, Marion Cotillard, Amy Adams, and Bradley Cooper dropped by Loulou's to attend the Weinstein Company bash with stars like Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer Lawrence stepped out in a short Christian Dior dress for her Silver Linings Playbook premiere in LA last night. She was joined on the red carpet by a Gucci-clad Bradley Cooper. The costars have been spending a lot of time together promoting the film. Over the weekend, Jen and Bradley linked up for a special SAG screening of the film, which was out in limited release Friday and will be out more broadly across the country tomorrow.

Also in attendance for last night's premiere was Jennifer and Bradley's costar Chris Tucker and director David O. Russell. Chris told us all about making the film and touched on the amazing rapport between Jennifer and Bradley. He said, "It was great because they had so much good chemistry . . . David O. Russell is a great director. He had a great cast with Jennifer, Bradley, and Robert De Niro, and Jacki Weaver."

Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper attended a special SAG screening of their film, Silver Linings Playbook, in LA last night with costar Chris Tucker. Bradley and Jennifer brought the picture to the West Coast together after attending separate premieres in NYC last week. In the intervening days, Jennifer has been required on the set of a very different movie, the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. Jennifer and Bradley are reaching the final stages of promotion for the film. Jennifer's performance has some speculating that she'll be nominated for an Oscar this year after being up for one in 2011 thanks to Winter's Bone. She spoke about that possibility, and of confronting the entire 2013 award season, with The Daily Beast. She said, "It's one of those things, when you read the first review and it's glowing, and everybody keeps hinting it's going to happen. I think it will be a lot better this year, now that I can drink. I honestly think that was the worst part. You can't sit through the Golden Globes without drinking. I was the only sober one there listening to every word. It was so cold that at one point, I wrapped myself up in the train of my dress and then I saw myself pop up on the screen. I started smiling but my teeth were chattering. It probably looked like I was secretly crying, as if I thought I had a chance."
