Brooklyn, Sofia, Miley, Emma, and More Show Their Support at CNN's Heroes Tribute
The annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute event, which honors those making differences in their communities and around the globe, filled LA's Shrine Auditorium with plenty of stars last night. Emma Roberts was on hand to present in a short black Maria Lucia Hohan dress while Sofia Vergara chose dark hued Dolce & Gabbana and Brooklyn Decker went with a metallic Christian Dior number. Miley Cyrus, who performed “The Climb,” arrived in a revealing yellow Roberto Cavalli gown with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth by her side. They weren't the only famous faces to show their support at the event since AnnaLynne McCord, Mary-Louise Parker, Christy Turlington, and others also came out for the show. CNN's own Anderson Cooper has since returned to NYC, but did his part by hosting the evening and wowing a few celebrities like Emma, who twittered that meeting him backstage was a dream come true.
Jennifer Connelly Steps Out For the First Time Since Baby Agnes's Arrival in a Sexy, Sheer Top
Jennifer Connelly attended last night's Every Woman, Every Child UN Reception in NYC, along with 50 Cent, Deepak Chopra, and several other celebrities and philanthropists. The evening out marked Jennifer's first red-carpet appearance since giving birth to her daughter Agnes in late May. The actress looked chic and sexy in a peek-a-boo top at the party, where she told reporters she had a midwife assist with a homebirth this time around. She even said the experience prompted her to be a part of last night's charitable event and the Every Woman, Every Child initiative, which helps mothers around the world receive better access to health care. Agnes is Jennifer's third child and her second with husband Paul Bettany. She and Paul have a 7-year-old son, Stellan, and Jennifer also has a 13-year-old boy, Kai, with her ex David Dugan.

The UK Won't Allow "Excessive" Airbrushing in Makeup Ads
The large amounts of Photoshop used in makeup advertisements has long been a hot-button issue in the UK, and this week the nation's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) handed down a strict judgment against two L'Oréal foundation ads. "If advertisers go too far in using airbrushing and other post-production techniques to alter the appearance of models and it's likely to mislead people, then that's wrong and we'll stop the ads," said Guy Parker, the ASA's chief executive.
The ASA ruled that both ads depicted the models (Julia Roberts for Lancôme and Christy Turlington for Maybelline) with skin altered in a way that the products could never actually achieve. But do you think airbrushing like this is really harmful? Refer to Julia Roberts's ad up top, and keep reading to see the banned Christy Turlington ad.
Style Lessons From a Supermodel
Christy Turlington, who labels herself a mom, global maternal health advocate, filmmaker, author, public health student, and yogi before she calls herself a model, is still one of the most gorgeous models we've ever known. Christy recently made two fashionable appearances, notable not for their dramatic, red carpet worthiness but effortless, pretty chicness. They're outfits I'd like to wear to work, on the days when there's a big dinner or event right afterward.
The key here? She goes with a feminine dress, like the tasseled See by Chloe on the left (or Etoile Isabel Marant on the right), and either a cardigan or blazer and killer black heels to finish it off. It's an easy 1-2-3 outfit. If you want to get her look, we highlight some pretty dresses that will work with any blazer and black heels you already have in your closet.
Gwyneth Shares Her Great Shape Secrets During a Good Housekeeping Night With Meryl, Christy, and More
Gwyneth Paltrow got some of her best Big Apple girlfriends together last night for Good Housekeeping's Shine On Awards, which honored the achievements of powerful women. The actress was there to salute the work and raise awareness around maternal health done by Christy Turlington Burns, and they shared the evening with other ladies like Meryl Streep, Rebecca Romijn, and new mom Ali Larter. Gwyneth, who was on the cover of the magazine's February issue, has been busy with her return to Glee, which airs next week, and promoting her latest publication — she hosted a dinner for friends like Cameron Diaz, Jay-Z, and Mario Batali on Monday to toast her new cookbook My Father's Daughter. She was on hand yesterday to congratulate others, but Gwyneth took a minute to discuss the long hours she spends maintaining her awesome figure. Gwyneth said on the red carpet, "The reason that I can be 38 and have two kids and wear a bikini is because I work my [expletive] ass off. It's not an accident. It's not luck, it's not fairy dust, it's not good genes. It's killing myself for an hour and a half five days a week, but what I get out of it is relative to what I put into it. That's what I try to do in all areas of my life."
