Mark Wahlberg stars as Chris Farraday, a reformed smuggler who gets dragged back into illegal activities when a drug dealer (Giovanni Ribisi) threatens his family. In order to secure his family's safety, Chris must employ his drug-running skills and settle his brother-in-law's debt to the crime boss. Intense action ensues as Chris assembles his former team and heads to Panama for a final run that goes awry. Ben Foster and Kate Beckinsale also costar. DVD extras include a making-of featurette, deleted scenes, and commentary from the director and producer.

Shark expert Kate (Halle Berry), once known as "the shark whisperer," leaves the business of diving with the fearsome creatures after a shark attacks and kills her mentor. As her life begins to fall apart and her debts grow higher, her old boyfriend (Olivier Martinez) shows up with a proposal that could earn her the money she needs to save her company. Kate has to overcome her fears and guide a thrill-seeking millionaire through the infested waters of Shark Alley.

Her fear is enough to keep her out of the ocean until she gets the opportunity to revisit the shark-infested waters on the dime of a danger-seeking businessman, alongside her ex-boyfriend (Olivier Martinez).

Any movie with a great white baring its teeth brings up my lifelong Jaws fear, but the movie feels like a cheesy sequel to Into the Blue or The Deep Blue Sea, only with the inclusion of an Oscar winner. The pair continued working into the afternoon following a costume change. Not even Halle's birthday on Saturday brought a break from shooting — she was in a gray tank, sipping from a cup of tea, to keep filming on her big day. The Vogue cover girl and art appreciator welcomed her 44th year with the company of Olivier, who was spotted giving Halle a big hug between scenes.

We saw her filming a few weeks ago in a form-fitting wet suit, but lately Halle's been sticking close to dry land while other stars take a stab at swimming with sharks. Halle traded her bathing suit for form-fitting gowns in her September issue of Vogue, in which she opened up about her break from Gabriel Aubry. She said they're still on great terms, and Gabriel even accompanied Halle and Nahla to South Africa — maybe he'll be on hand to join the fun as Halle celebrates her 44th birthday tomorrow!

Halle Berry headed out into the bay off the coast of Seal Island, South Africa, today to continue shooting Dark Tide. She wore a string bikini underneath her wetsuit as sharks swam close to her boat, though the actress was surrounded by trained professionals to make sure she stayed safe. Halle started work on the movie earlier this week and was spotted getting her sea legs yesterday with costar Olivier Martinez. She has been prepping for this project for months, which included showing off her perfectly toned two-piece body during long walks on the beach — the hot mom made it far in our swimsuit bracket, but now it's down to Aniston vs Decker. Halle's ready to take on the intense scenes, but at the end of the day she's lucky enough to have Nahla and Gabriel close to keep her company.

Halle Berry stepped into her rubber boots for filming on the set of Dark Tide with her costar Olivier Martinez in Cape Town yesterday. The actress will be calling South Africa home while she works on this long-awaited project, and she brought along her daughter, Nahla, and ex Gabriel Aubry for the trip. Halle was already getting down and dirty in her shorts on a boat for the scene, while handsome Olivier watched on, though she stayed bundled up between takes in the chilly Winter climate. Halle's already lining up new projects for when she returns, but for now she's hard at work while Nahla and Gabriel check out the post-World Cup sights.

Halle Berry is in talks to go swimming with the fishes — Great White sharks, to be precise. The next project she's looking at is Dark Tide, an action-thriller that will follow "a diving instructor who returns to the deep after a near-fatal incident with a Great White shark." The movie will begin filming in South Africa later this year.

The last movie I saw that starred Halle Berry was Things We Lost in the Fire, which I think showcased her talent well, but I'll be excited to see her in new projects. It looks like the next one to hit theaters will be Frankie and Alice, in which Berry plays "a young woman with multiple personality disorder who struggles to remain her true self and not give in to her racist alter-personality." Yikes. From that to swimming with Great Whites, Berry's life is all drama.
