Madonna attended Kabbalah services on Saturday in NYC with Jesus Luz and her children ahead of her adoption appeal beginning today in Malawi. Unfortunately, more drama surrounds the proceedings — the man claiming to be Mercy's father filmed a three-part-interview with The Early Show in which he talks about wanting to take care of Mercy himself. He has never met Mercy, and Madonna's rep says no one's sure if he's actually her dad. Sounds like things are getting complicated for Madonna, but she's not one to shy away from a fight.

Madonna confirmed today that she's in Malawi to adopt another child and has been working on the process for over a year. As she waits until Friday's ruling in her case, she brought her son David to see his biological father, Yohane Banda. It's the first time since David left Malawi in 2006 that he's seen his father, and afterward Yohane made a lengthy statement about seeing his son. He said:

"He asked me who I was. When I told him, 'I am your daddy,' he looked surprised. . . It's amazing how David has grown; I can't believe he is the same small and sickly baby we left at Home of Hope. He seems to be a polite boy for he asked if he could sit on my lap. Then he started playing with my nose; I don't know why. He is quite chatty and intelligent. He asked me lots of questions about lots of things. He asked me whether I ride horses. I told him horses are for the rich and he asked me why I am poor. He told me his mum likes riding horses and that he too rides horses. Then he told me a story when one day he and his brother, Rocco, rode horses and fell. He told me his mum spanked him because they are not supposed to ride horses on their own."

Jesus Luz wore a Yankees hat and a cross as he walked out of Kabbalah services on Saturday in NYC with Madonna and her three kids. Last night, though, it was just the two of them for a romantic night out as the snow fell. There were rumors that Madonna would be bringing him to the VF Oscar afterparty, but instead she seems happy to keep things more personal. Meanwhile, drama continues between Guy Ritchie and Madonna as the British media revealed his latest nickname for her. She has plenty to keep her distracted from those rumors, including possibly being involved with New Moon.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie spent a lot of time praying at the Kabbalah center in NYC this weekend. They were spotted twice heading to the center among the news that Madonna has won custody of Rocco and David. The case is still being finalized but Madonna will be bringing the boys to NYC for school and they will divide their time between her and Guy. He will be able to watch them while she extends her tour this Summer. While all seems civil, Madonna likes to keep us guessing. As A-Rod's divorce became finalized this weekend, Madonna stepped out with her newer younger man, Jesus Luz. Her new boy toy was seen running errands and eating with Madonna, David and Lourdes who looks so grownup and stylish these days.

Madonna was in NYC this weekend spending time with her kids and making trips to the Kabbalah center. Madonna and Guy Ritchie's preliminary divorce became official on Friday, and the singer apparently has turned to a number of outlets to keep her spirits up. She found familiar comfort meeting up with her ex-husband, Sean Penn, plus Madonna said she's using work as a distraction, performing in Atlantic City on Saturday. Her religion is also playing a big part, though there may be strain on her relationship with Alex Rodriguez already because he's reportedly skipping Kabbalah classes. Most importantly, Madonna has Lourdes, David and Rocco by her side so hopefully the rumors of a split custody agreement are true even if she has to pay a lot in child support to complete the settlement.
