Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka, suited up their twins in life jackets yesterday and joined Elton John and his family for a day of yachting in Saint-Tropez. Elton's partner, David Furnish, and their son, Zachary John-Furnish, relaxed in the sun while Neil and David showed Gideon and Harper the view.

The families kicked off their European getaway on Wednesday at Le Club 55 before hitting the beach and taking a motorboat ride. The vacation seems to be becoming a tradition for the friends who made a similar trip to the South of France last August. The couples' kids are close in age with Gideon and Harper turning 2 in October and Zachary following closely behind in December.

NPH missed out on ABC's TCA events this week in LA, but his costar Jason Segel was there to represent the cast of How I Met Your Mother and field questions about the show's upcoming seventh season. He didn't give away any mother spoilers, though Jason did talk about his character, Marshall, becoming a dad, saying, "I feel so bad for whatever kids they hire. I'm so awkward. I'm like the Abominable Snowman from the Bugs Bunny cartoons. These poor, acting babies."

The twins apparently weren't cooperating during the family outing since the parents tweeted that they were more fussy than usual, though NPH and David still seemed thrilled to be sharing their first Dad's Day together. The couple have had a lot to celebrate lately since NPH successfully hosted the Tony Awards and turned 38 last week. David threw his partner a huge murder-mystery birthday bash complete with acrobatic entertainment in their backyard. The excitement for NPH doesn't stop there, though, since his musical Company is currently running in select movie theaters across the country.

Baby Gideon and dad Neil Patrick Harris didn't join them for the visit, since NPH is currently in NYC prepping for his role in the Broadway musical Company. The foursome have shared plenty of family time since the twins were born last October, including a Winter walk with their dogs and a trip to Hawaii. They'll be reunited soon since David is headed to the Big Apple to join his boyfriend, and he can also catch up with NPH on the latest episodes of How I Met Your Mother.

Neil had his latest break from shooting How I Met Your Mother, while his costar Cobie Smulders was across town at a stylish Elle party with Rachel Zoe. NPH also had off last weekend, when he headed to San Francisco for the annual SketchFest to interview Muppet creator Jim Henson's son Brian. Neil and Brian have another common bond, as NPH's small-screen buddy Jason Segel is singing, acting, and dancing alongside Amy Adams in the new movie about Henson's famous puppets. Neil may get the opportunity to show off his own performance skills should he make another surprise musical appearance at this year's Oscar ceremony on Feb. 27.
