Ryan Reynolds Shares Details on the Divorce He Didn't "Plan On"

Ryan Reynolds struck a hot pose for the June/July cover of Details.

Ryan Reynolds struck a hot pose for the June/July cover of Details. The actor has been out of the Hollywood spotlight for the last few months while working on Safe House abroad, but he's going to be everywhere in the coming weeks as he preps for the release of his blockbuster Green Lantern on June 17. Ryan chatted with a writer from the magazine about the developments in his personal life over the last year, making rare comments about his divorce from Scarlett Johansson. It seems Ryan's happy to be single despite rumors linking him to the German model Agnes Fischer and reports he's trying to help her land acting work in Hollywood. Ryan's good friend Sandra Bullock also weighed in on his career, revealing one of the things he loves most about his Canadian homeland. Ryan Reynolds to Details:

  • Ryan on his divorce: "Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it. I'm not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there's optimism. How can there not be? I don't think I want to get married again, but you always reevaluate these things. Any kind of crisis can be good. It wakes you up. I gotta say, I'm a different person than I was six months ago. . . . What was happening privately was the exact opposite of what was being reported. There was no story and no scandal, so the narrative was just created for me. That was the most disturbing part. I wasn't angry. I absolutely predicted every beat of it. There's an entire economy around this sort of thing — therefore it's gotta happen one way or another."
  • Ryan on moving forward: "Relationships ending move you from who you were to who you are at a much more accelerated rate than almost anything else on Earth. . . . Departing a relationship and still maintaining the idea that this is still the same person I married is a great luxury that I experienced. Thankfully I was in a relationship where two people chose to remain on the high road in every regard. . . . I'm very happy not to be in a relationship right now. That's OK. I didn't plan on it, that's for sure . . . but that's okay."
  • Ryan on his tough-guy side: "You want to see what I’m like when we turn the tape recorder off? I slit throats, that’s what I do. I only drink panda tears. Do not bring me water. Do not bring me filtered water. I want the tears of a newborn panda, and I will have them — because I’m Ryan Reynolds!"
  • Sandra Bullock on Ryan: "It makes you want to watch more of him to figure it out. As his friend, any dark secrets that I may or may not know are forever safe with me. Unless he doesn’t do something I want him to do, like babysitting. When that day comes, I’ll be sure to hold a press conference. . . . He constantly talks of the healing powers of maple syrup. I don’t know if that’s a Canadian trait, but it’s always uncomfortable when it comes up."

Vanessa Hudgens Gets Wet in Her Swimsuit For Details

Vanessa Hudgens wasn't afraid to show some skin for the March issue of Details.
Pictures of Vanessa Hudgens Wet in a Swimsuit in Details Magazine

Vanessa Hudgens wasn't afraid to show some skin for the March issue of Details. The actress threw on a swimsuit for a photo shoot in the name of promoting her new movie Sucker Punch, though her accompanying interview focused more on her headline-making personal life. She opened up about parting ways with Zac Efron late last year, but the duo apparently are still close. He's not Vanessa's only admirer, however, as she also shared some interesting information about her 77-year-old costar in Journey to the Center of the Earth, Michael Caine. She said:

  • On her status with Zac: "We're still friends. . . Who knows what the future will bring. . . We're figuring things out."
  • On being a bold person: "I'm not nervous. I'm excited. I get excited. I'm, like, a very hyper, energetic, crazy type of crazy. I have a lot going on. Always. I'll dance on a table sober."
  • On working with 77-year-old Michael Caine: "He's uh-mazing. Not only is he uh-mazingly, stupidly talented, but he still kind of hits on me. All the time. If it was anybody else, I'd be like, 'Who the hell do you think you are?' But because it's Michael Caine, I'm like, 'Sock it to me more, baby, come on!' Throughout this whole movie we're trudging through the jungle. So, of course, we're sweating. I can't tell you how much time is spent putting oil on my chest. And Evian. Spraying Evian bottles on my chest and my arms and my forehead, but mostly my chest. Just to look like I'm sweating. But your boobs don't really sweat, cleavage doesn't sweat. So it's kind of funny. But Michael's always telling the makeup artists that he'll take over and do it. I. Frickin'. Love. Him."

Andrew Garfield suited up for the cover of February's Details, though inside the magazine he dressed down to flaunt his new Spider-Man assets. The actor had a break from working on the action film with costar Emma Stone over the weekend to attend the Palm Springs Film Festival, where he joined Jesse Eisenberg and Armie Hammer to accept accolades for The Social Network. He'll be suited up again in a few short days for the Golden Globes — don't forget to fill out your ballot for a chance to win $1,000! Andrew had lots to say to the magazine about his first big Hollywood roles, getting into superhero shape, and the cold reality of life as a rising star. He said:

  • On getting in shape for Spider-Man: "I want to feel stronger than I've ever felt, and I want to feel more flexible than I've ever felt. I want to feel powerful. You don't want to just be a pack of meat — it has to be an open body. It does something to your psyche, and it does something to the way you move."
  • On a cold realization after landing the Spider-Man role: "I realized immediately how much hard work it was going to be, and how much of a minefield it was going to be in terms of all the shit that comes with it. Stuff that I would like to not have any part of. I mean visibility and being recognized walking down the street. I'm holding out a naïve and ignorant hope that won't happen."
  • On going to Hollywood parties: "Those events that look like so much fun in the photos you see — it's mostly people looking over their shoulders at everyone. They're miserable, those parties."

Would You Date a Guy Who Said He'd Be a "Bad Boyfriend"?

Matthew Morrison of Glee may have time to take off his shirt for Details and be named one of People's sexiest men alive, but that doesn't leave time for dating.

Matthew Morrison of Glee may have time to take off his shirt for Details and be named one of People's sexiest men alive, but that doesn't leave time for dating.

The 32-year-old told Details he's focusing on his career at the expense of his personal life.

"It's been a while [since dating] . . . I'm not a good friend right now. I'm not a good boyfriend. It's not that I'm selfish. I'm just focused."

If a guy told me he didn't have time for a girlfriend, I would hear "I don't have time for you." But it can be tempting to play along, especially if his actions don't match his words. Would you?

Matthew Morrison Bares Gleeful Shirtless Abs on the Beach For Details!

Mr. Schuester can't stop showing off his abs!

Mr. Schuester can't stop showing off his abs! Matthew Morrison and his amazing shirtless body posed with his paddle board on the beach for the December issue of Details, which is out on Nov. 30. The actor impressed you with his pecs in Vogue last Spring and has stripped down for a few episodes of Glee this season, including last night when Gwyneth Paltrow joined in on the fun. Sue Sylvester also let out a few classic zingers and if you need even more Glee in your life, their holiday album came out yesterday. In the article Matthew talks about being a role model for the younger cast, his relationship status, and his sex appeal. Here are highlights:

  • On his freewheeling theater days: "I definitely hooked up with a lot of girls when I was a young guy on Broadway. It was exciting. Very joyous and free. . . I’m not comfortable with the idea of my sex appeal, but I know in my job I have to use it. I wish I could say I got to this point in my career based on my talent, but I don’t think that’s true."
  • On his Glee cast and fame: "I am a teacher to them. I’ve taken a few under my wing. I don’t want to say they idolize me, but…Yeah, I find myself learning a lot from the set. I do look at stuff people on the show are doing, and I don’t judge them, but I question it. I say to myself, 'Keep quiet.' Fame … it’s like a handgun – in the wrong hands, it’s dangerous."
  • On his love life: "I’m not a good friend right now. I’m not a good boyfriend. It’s not that I’m selfish. I’m just focused."
