Kanye Speaks About Performing So Soon

After a difficult show on Saturday night, Kanye West performed in Brussels on Sunday.

After a difficult show on Saturday night, Kanye West performed in Brussels on Sunday. This time when he felt emotional, he took the time to explain to the audience why he was back so soon, saying that is what Donda would want for him to do. He chastised people coming out of the woodwork to say that he should take time off, and he said that she was his first and biggest fan. To see his speech, check out the video after the jump.

He canceled his Monday night performance in Amsterdam to be in Oklahoma today for his mother's memorial service. Our thoughts, condolences, and well wishes are with Kanye and his entire family.

The doctor who performed the surgery on Donda spoke to the LA Times, giving his first real interview since her death. He said that she had "no problem whatsoever" when she left his office and that she likely died from heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or accidental pain medication overdose. It will still be weeks until we have the official autopsy report.

In a final bit of Kanye news, he's apparently angry at Harper's Bazaar for printing that a mural on his ceiling is of himself. Kanye told GQ, "That pissed me off so bad...That made me so mad. Because who would want to hang out with a guy with an 8-foot picture of an angel of himself?" Check out the mural in question (and more pics from Kanye's beautiful house) here.

The Dirt Starts To Come Out On Donda West's Surgeon

Sadly, as the full story surrounding Donda West's untimely passing inevitably comes to light, it's beginning to look like something shady went down.

Sadly, as the full story surrounding Donda West's untimely passing inevitably comes to light, it's beginning to look like something shady went down. Last night, Kanye's family released a statement thanking everyone for their kind words and asking that donations be made in her name to the Kanye West Foundation in lieu of flowers. Soon after that, the surgeon who operated on Donda, Dr. Jan Adams, came forward saying that he had done nothing wrong and that the death was unforeseen and probably due to heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or massive vomiting.

Now, TMZ has already uncovered the fact that the surgery took twice as long as it should have, indicating trouble on the table, and that Adams sent West home afterwards rather than to a recovery center. She died the next evening. Also, Adams has been convicted of two DUIs as recently as 2006. He's also lost two malpractice suits and last April the Medical Board of California asked to revoke his license following the DUIs. I'm sure this is just the beginning of tearing through Adams' personal and professional life looking for dirt, I just hope that if Kanye and his family want answers about this horrible tragedy, they are able to find them. And if they want people to give it peace, hopefully that wish is respected too.

Kanye West's Mother Dies From Cosmetic Surgery Complications

Dr. Donda West, a retired English professor and the mother of Kanye West, has died from complications during a cosmetic surgery procedure.

Dr. Donda West, a retired English professor and the mother of Kanye West, has died from complications during a cosmetic surgery procedure. Her publicist did not reveal details about the procedure or precise cause of death. Kanye was very close to his mother, even devoting his 2005 song "Hey Mama" to her:

"Hey Mama, I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I'm so proud of you ... I appreciate what you allowed for me. I just want you to be proud of me."

I can't imagine how difficult this must be for the West family, as well as for the students Dr. West taught over the years. My heart goes out to all of them.
