As a city with so much personality and penchant for possibility, it's no surprise that the follow-up to Paris, Je t'aime heads to New York. New York, I Love You is a tale of the connections and personal missteps that occur every single day in the city that never sleeps. It plays out like a movie version of a song mash-up: some story lines are linear and independent of the rest while other characters wander in and out of each other's lives. Throw an all-star cast in there, and you could possibly have a recipe for perfection.

Unfortunately, the ingredients don't blend together as well as I had hoped, and instead we're left with an engaging but bland look at a handful of trials and tribulations in relationships. To see what I mean, just read more

The ladies of Desperate Housewives were reunited on set yesterday in LA. Marcia Cross was decked out in navy blue as prim Bree, while Eva Longoria went bright in a typical Gabi hue. Felicity Huffman chatted with her onscreen husband Doug Savant, while newcomer Drea de Matteo brought her daughter Alabama to check out the scene. Last season ended with a surprise wedding, but the bride still remains a mystery as both Teri Hatcher and Dana Delany were sporting gowns for the afternoon of filming.

The Scavos, Hodges, and Solises are getting some new neighbors. An Italian family is moving to Desperate Housewives's Wisteria Lane — led by Drea de Matteo of The Sopranos.

The Emmy-winning de Matteo, most recently seen on TV in Sons of Anarchy, will be a series regular, playing the "vixenish" new housewife. And she's not coming alone: the show is currently casting for her husband (a landscape designer) and the couple's tightly wound son.

Desperate Housewives has really shaken things up over the past couple of seasons, and I think adding a new housewife to the mix could keep the momentum going — especially since we've said goodbye to Edie. Plus, I think de Matteo's a good pick to bring some sass (and maybe some new dark secrets?) to the show. What do you think of the casting? Yay, how cute is the premiere of Broken English!? Sorry, sometimes I get a little excited about Parker Posey, Sofia Coppola, and Drea de Matteo -- so when they're all together it's pretty awesome. The movie they're out to celebrate looks pretty seriously precious and funny and endearing, too. Everything about this (other than Drea's dress, but she's pregnant, so she gets a bye) just makes me feel all fuzzy and indie-loving. And I mean that in the best way possible.
