Guess which actress is not ashamed (yes, that's a hint) of sporting bright sneakers?

The standard rule of eye shadow and lipstick pairings is balance: downplay one feature and focus on another. But this week, three leading ladies chose to buck that idea, opting for bold shadows paired with bright lipstick hues. Thandie Newton paired a crimson lip with sparkling berry eye shadow, while Emmy Rossum went for coral eye shadow and bubblegum-pink lips. And for the premiere of her new play Breakfast at Tiffany's, Emilia Clarke wore smoky bluish gray shadow on her eyes with tangerine color on her lips. This bold makeup look is definitely a head-turner, but whose look do you like best?
Emmy Rossum shined bright at the 21st annual "A Night at Sardi's" gala benefiting the Alzheimer's Association, and it had everything to do with her gilded look. The actress — who has admitted to not working with a stylist — didn't show any signs of personal-style shortcomings, taking a strong head-to-toe stance on shades of gold. For those of us that find Spring's metallic trend a little daunting, Rossum's ensemble provides a little (or a lot) of inspiration to cull from, and here's how.

Instead of going the sexier high-shine route, the brunette beauty chose a gold sequin-covered Tory Burch tea-length dress from the designer's Spring '13 collection. The longer hemline provided an immediate ladylike effect, and rather than shying away from the eye-catching hue, she added equally cool gold Jimmy Choo sandals, gold bangles, and gold drop earrings into the mix. While it's a bold styling approach, notice that aside from the statement dress, she went with gold add-ons that complemented the central outfit piece rather than with accessories that overwhelmed. Rossum's commitment to gold-hued glamour is admirable and certainly something to emulate, but we know not everyone is ready to dive in head first. If you want to approach with caution, try styling a crisp white top with a muted gold pencil skirt, gold stud earrings, and a gold watch. For everything else, see our editors' shopping picks below.
Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki met up with their costars from The Big Bang Theory yesterday for a night of laughs and charity at the A Night at Sardi's gala in Beverly Hills. Kaley wore a strapless blue gown as she mingled with stars like Emmy Rossum, Jason Bateman, and Zachary Levi at the event. She got glammed up after sporting a more casual, but still chic, look when she celebrated Hollywood stylists at an event in LA last week. The Big Bang Theory cast and other funny actors and actresses typically perform skits during the event, which benefits the Alzheimer's Association. We were live on the scene last night, so be sure to check back for more of our red carpet coverage!
Justin Timberlake hit the red carpet to celebrate the release of The 20/20 Experience at LA's El Rey Theatre on Monday night. He was joined by newly single Ryan Seacrest, whose split from girlfriend Julianne Hough was announced last week. Ryan interviewed Justin during the event, which will be televised on Tuesday night on The CW, and their chat confirmed that Justin is in fact planning on dropping a second part to the album later this year. Also on hand for the bash was Emmy Rossum, Anna Kendrick, Nikki Reed, and a crowd full of fans, who were treated to a concert by Justin that included a performance of "Mirrors." He had made his way west after stopping over the weekend in Austin, TX, where he held a secret Myspace event.

Usually wearing more than one beauty trend at a time can cause a clash, but Emmy Rossum proved that the key is choosing the right combination. She matched emerald smoky eyes and nude lips with an easy braid and white nails at last night's The 20/20 Experience album release party.
By incorporating Pantone's color of the year, Emmy's green shadow is spot-on for Spring. To re-create the look, apply Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencil in Intense Green ($17) in the lower waterline and on the upper lids. Then top with a golden shadow in the inner corners and on the center of lids. Emmy balanced the bold shadow with a glossy nude lip — yet another trend for Spring. Her effortless french braid is similar to styles seen on the Honor and Marchesa Spring 2013 catwalks. Finally, for nails, swipe on a few coats of China Glaze in Coconut Kiss ($7) for a bold white manicure that has been spotted as a celebrity favorite. Which trends will you be mixing and matching in the coming months?
When there's no dress code on the invite, guests are free to interpret the "party dress" with their own brand of styling. Such was the case at last night's iHeartRadio 20/20 Justin Timberlake album release party, where attendees like Nikki Reed, Jordin Sparks, and Emmy Rossum celebrated JT with their own take on eventwear. Nikki made a case for the classics, keeping it easy in skinny pants and a semisheer button-up, while Jordin worked a cool-girl angle in leather pants, sexy heels, and a moto-style jacket. As for Emmy, she adopted a more ladylike approach, arriving in a sweet floral-embellished Topshop sheath and white heels. Emmy Rossum arrived at Elton John's Oscars party tonight, and we caught a quick moment with her as she made her way inside. We asked the actress and singer, who starred in The Phantom of the Opera, what she thought of Les Misérables and the resurgence of the musical.
