Katie Holmes looks lovely, but is that a Farrah Fawcett swoop I spy? Mrs. Tom Cruise appeared at the Golden Globes nomination ceremony this morning wearing a soft, rounded take on the classic 1970s style. Interestingly, Kate Middleton has been wearing a similar look, and given the fact that feathered hair already came back once in the early years of the decade, it would make sense if we were seeing a resurgence now. Would you try a style like this, or is even subtle feathering best left to Charlie's Angels?
People Are Still Asking For "The Rachel" 16 Years Later
Last night on Glee, we learned that main character Rachel Berry was indeed named after Rachel Green of Friends due to the fact that her two dads were huge fans of the show. And after all these years, it appears that people are still fans of Jennifer Aniston's fashionable character, as British women are still requesting "The Rachel."
The layered shag has been worn by nearly 11 million British women since it first became popular back in 1994. According to a poll by Goody, while "The Rachel" may be the most requested style, Meg Ryan's choppy bob and Dannii Minogue's sleek X Factor bob came in second and third place, respectively. Also popular were Farrah Fawcett's flip, Princess Diana's classic crop, and Victoria Beckham's "Pob" cut.
As far as the famous Rachel cut is concerned, I'm not completely shocked by the findings. We've seen modern variations of the cut going strong for years now. (Think Kate Moss's layered style.) "It’s a cut that flatters almost everyone, designed to make women look beautiful," stylist Mark Woolley told the Daily Express. What say you regarding this longtime trend? Have you ever had this bouncy cut or would you consider heading to your stylist for a Rachel update?

Biggest Headline of 2009: The Year in Celebrity Passings
We've been counting down the biggest headlines of 2009, and we'll be revealing more throughout the month of December. Read on to take a look back at some of the stories that created the most buzz throughout the year.
This year, we lost many stars, both old and young. Michael Jackson stole headlines over the Summer due to his passing, but we also spent the last 12 months mourning other public figures.

Just two days into the year, John Travolta and Kelly Preston suffered the devastating loss of their son, Jett Travolta, after complications from a seizure. Michael Jackson's highly publicized death almost overshadowed the passing of Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon, who died within days of each other at the end of June. Beloved actor Patrick Swayze lost his battle with cancer in September, after a lengthy and courageous fight. Bea Arthur, meanwhile, passed in April at the age of 86, and director John Hughes suffered a fatal heart attack in August. Legendary senator Ted Kennedy also died that month after his own fight against cancer.
Two deaths seemed particularly out of the blue — DJ AM overdosed in August after surviving a plane crash and overcoming drugs during a previous battle with addiction, and Natasha Richardson died in March after a tragic ski accident. The most recent star to be gone too soon is Brittany Murphy, who died last weekend at her LA home. Our hearts go out to all of those who lost a loved one this year, and the memories of these celebrities will certainly live on through their work.
Best of 2009: Rest in Peace
This year, we mourned the deaths of the beloved Farrah Fawcett, photographer Irving Penn, Gap's co-founder Donald Fisher, and the king of pop, Michael Jackson. Each made a huge impact in the world and we will always remember them for their stellar style and contribution to the industry. Also recognized were shuttered fashion houses Christian Lacroix and Luella Bartley — what a shame. Let's take a moment and pay respect to these fashion greats.

21 of the Most Memorable Bangs
There are lots of ways to wear bangs, from the swoop, to the baby varieties, to the blunt straight-across-the-forehead assortments. So, let's take a trip back to days past, where all sorts of fringe styles — and lots of hairspray — ruled the looks of the moment.
20 Groovy Looks From the Studio 54 Era
Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Studio 54 was the place to be. During its heyday, the Manhattan discothèque was notorious for its jet-setting crowd of celebrities and socialites, and among other things, its reputation for drugs and illicit sexual liaisons among some of those in attendance. All hedonism aside, it was also an era where fluffy hair, lots of makeup, and sparkled accessories reigned supreme. Check out some of these trendy hair and makeup stylings, along with a few more shots of other famous disco-goers, now.
Say What? Ryan O'Neal's Flirting Knows No Limits

"I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me. I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, 'Daddy, it's me — Tatum!' I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it's my daughter. It's so sick."
"Ladies' man" Ryan O'Neal admits in a cover story for September's Vanity Fair that he mistakenly hit on his own daughter, Tatum O'Neal, at Farrah Fawcett's funeral. Vanity Fair is releasing two different covers for September — one featuring Farrah Fawcett and another for Michael Jackson.
