The Razzies Rain on the New Moon Parade

Before the entertainment industry gets swept away by tomorrow morning's Oscar nominees announcement, let's discuss the (arguably) worst movies of the year with the 2010 Razzie nominations.

Before the entertainment industry gets swept away by tomorrow morning's Oscar nominees announcement, let's discuss the (arguably) worst movies of the year with the 2010 Razzie nominations. As usual, box office performance has little bearing on eligibility — Transformers 2, and G.I. Joe each took home a handful of noms despite raking in the big bucks.

Of course, what is most likely to send hoards of fans into a rage is all the hating on New Moon — the film scored nods for Worst Screen Couple, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Supporting Actor. (Though I doubt the nomination will affect your desire to meet Robert Pattinson in person).

I'm actually most amused by the fact that Sandra Bullock can be a Razzie nominee and a potential Oscar nominee in the same year, but check out the full list below and tell me what you think!

Box Office: Inglourious Basterds Scalps District 9

Quentin Tarantino's fans did not disappoint him this weekend, helping Inglourious Basterds rake in over $37 million at the box office this past weekend.

Quentin Tarantino's fans did not disappoint him this weekend, helping Inglourious Basterds rake in over $37 million at the box office this past weekend. Here's your fun revenue statistic of the day: it's the highest-grossing opening ever for a movie released in the second half of August. District 9 was knocked to the number two slot with $18.9 million while G.I. Joe took third, bringing in $12.5 million. The Time Traveler's Wife and Julie and Julia rounded out the top five.

Inglourious Basterds was the only new release to score major success this weekend; Shorts came in sixth place with $6.6 million while Alexis Bledel's Post Grad just barely cracked the top ten with $2.8 million.

Box Office: District 9 Invades at No. 1

Movie audiences favored the aliens and the action this past weekend as the Peter Jackson-produced extra-terrestrial film District 9 took the top spot with an estimated $37 million.

Movie audiences favored the aliens and the action this past weekend as the Peter Jackson-produced extra-terrestrial film District 9 took the top spot with an estimated $37 million. In second place with $22.5 million was last weekend's big earner, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The Rachel McAdams-Eric Bana romance The Time Traveler's Wife opened at No. 3 with $19.2 million, which is apparently "one of the best showings ever for a romantic drama in any part of the year." Julie and Julia and G-Force took the fourth and fifth spots respectively.

Elsewhere at the box office, Jeremy Piven's comedy The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard took in an estimated $5.3 million its opening weekend, putting it at No. 6, while the teen comedy Bandslam didn't quite make the top 10, grossing an estimated $2.3 million.

Talk about a comeback.
Photos of All of Sienna Miller's Outfits During GI Joe Promotion Tour

Talk about a comeback. Despite going through major drama for her past (?) relationship with Balthazar Getty, Sienna Miller has stylishly risen from the ashes through a bevy of amazing, inspiring outfits during her PR circuit for GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It takes a real fashion connoisseur to know how to cleverly mix different palettes, and Sienna does it effortlessly. This quilted trouser and silk tank combo speak volumes about her funky taste for modernity, while this exquisite gold Yves Saint Laurent gown appeals to sophisticated stylistas. Believe me, you don't want to miss this amazing slideshow of Sienna's sizzling GI Joe looks.

G.I. Joe: A Real American (Box Office) Hero

Did you know that G.I.

Did you know that G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra posted the highest opening for an August non-sequel on Friday? Well, now you know, and knowing is half the battle. Over the weekend, the movie grossed an estimated $56.2 million domestically, and, combined with overseas numbers, took in an estimated $100.3 million worldwide. As Variety points out, Paramount is having a stellar Summer this year: "Not only has the studio launched another franchise in G.I. Joe, it has reenergized the Star Trek franchise and continued successfully mining the Transformers property."

Julie and Julia also opened over the weekend and grossed just over $20 million, coming in second place. The animated guinea pigs in G-Force pulled in about half that but still came in at No. 3 at the box office. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince followed closely behind at No. 4 while Judd Apatow's Funny People "fell a steep 65 percent" in its second week, rounding out the top five with an estimated $7.9 million.

Heidi and Spencer Steal the Show at GI Joe's LA Premiere

Sienna Miller channelled old-Hollywood posing with her costars and riding around in the air with Jimmy Kimmel in a "super cage" at the G.I. Joe premiere in LA yesterday. Channing Tatum held Jenna Dewan close while she showed some leg, but it was another set of newlyweds who were trying to get all the attention. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt took advantage of the audience to debut Heidi's new Playboy cover. They displayed bikini-clad Heidi covered in dirt, though she's not the only one known to strip down — Spencer's competing against Beckham in our Hottest Shirtless Guy contest, so make sure to cast your votes.

Supposedly Single Sienna Talks Balthazar and Apologies

Sienna Miller is still in NYC making the rounds to promote GI Joe.

Sienna Miller is still in NYC making the rounds to promote GI Joe. She joined Channing Tatum and Marlon Wayans yesterday for a visit to Fuse TV, where she came face to face with her character's doll she doesn't like. Sienna gave a recent interview to British GQ in which she discussed her love life and her still recent romance with Balthazar Getty. She said:

  • On her relationship with Balthazar: "[The relationship] probably looked awful. . . I probably seem like not a particularly nice person, not a girl's girl."
  • On people's perceptions: "I do think sometimes people get morally superior without understanding situations. And the situation I got into was not ideal, but it happened and if I could go back and be more responsible, I would. . . I probably would be less naive about ignoring the fact that people care. I've always kind of done exactly what my instincts said. I have a good brain on me, but I've never really used it when it came to making decisions about love, which has been a blessing and a curse."
  • On making amends: "I've made apologies to people I needed to, but I can't apologize to people I don't know for things they don't understand."
  • On her love life now: "A few dalliances, three months here and there, but I've never been like a shagger. . . I've actually been kind of single for the past year. I've had somebody on the end of the phone maybe, but I haven't been living with anyone or been in a proper relationship, and it's been really great. . . I'm completely on my own. I think I've grown up a lot."

Sienna and Balthazar have broken up and made up more times than most would care to remember, so it remains to be seen if their romance is really and truly over for good.

Sienna Miller and Channing Tatum are in the final stretch of their worldwide GI Joe press tour before it finally hits theaters in the US on Friday. After making the interview rounds in a range of outfits yesterday morning, Sienna met up with Channing and Marlon Wayans for a stop at 106 & Park. She grabbed dinner at the Waverly Inn last night, then was up bright and early today to join the rest of the movie's cast and ring the bell at the opening of the New York Stock Exchange. They've been all over the globe getting their film out there, but it sounds like Sienna's just about ready to call it a day.
