Reds and pinks get plenty of color play on the lips, but shades of orange are a flattering way to quickly add some glow to your complexion. Just this week, we've seen three different celebrities showcase three different ways to wear orange hues, ranging from daring to demure.
Bright red-orange: A modern take on a classic red, Nikki Reed showed that an orange base can help add warmth to your makeup — even in the middle of Winter. Try Nars Lipstick in Heat Wave ($24) and pair it with plenty of blush to stand up to the boldness of the hue. Top things off with a rich, warm shadow.
Matte orange: Jessica Alba proved that tangerine, last year's It color, is here to stay. She kept it seasonal with a matte finish, while her bright blond highlights added a luminous touch. Olive-undertoned complexions look gorgeous in colors with yellowish undertones, just like Jessica's full-on orange version. Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera ($28) is a perfectly vibrant option.
Muted coral: If going matte and/or vibrant is a little too intense, why not try a muted peach shade like Garcelle Beauvais did? Try a color like L'Oréal Colour Riche Lipstick in Peach Fuzz ($9) and build up to an intensity you're comfortable with.
Although we love a good red-carpet look, much can be said for pre- and post-party looks, which is why we are smitten with the edgy-meets-glam look Garcelle Beauvais donned at the LoveGold party in LA. The actress layered a double-zip leather jacket over a black turtleneck sweater, then upped the wow factor with this neon yellow midi skirt by Tibi ($525) and pointed zebra-print pumps. She completed her party style with jaw-dropping emerald earrings and a crystal-embellished clutch. Rough up Garcelle's exact skirt with a leather jacket and black turtleneck or pair it with a white tank, floral cardigan, and metallic sandals come Spring.
Sporting a warm apricot flush, Garcelle Beauvais was positively glowing at last night's InStyle afterparty. Although orange was last year's color, she managed to bring new vibrancy to the trend by selecting a lighter melon shade. She kept the warm palette with a soft brown smoky eye with a touch of shimmer. What a gorgeous combination!

LA's Sunset Tower Hotel — where Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are currently calling home — hosted a fabulous party for Rachel Zoe last night as she was being honored by the LA Gay and Lesbian Center. The woman of the hour showed up in a fabulous velvet vintage Versace that she picked up from Decades in LA, and slick-straight hair that, according to her hairstylist Joey Maalouf, was inspired by Cher. The always fashionable Abigail Spencer, Garcelle Beauvais, and Fashion Police's George Kotsiopoulos also made stylish appearances. Step inside to find out what they had to say about their personal style, as well as award season.
Garcelle Beauvais made her afterparty arrival in a hot red sheath. The dress boasted sexy detailing, like a fitted corset-style bodice, but a higher neckline countered with sophisticated edge. She finished with a coordinating box clutch and a slicked back bun to show off her bold jewel-drop earrings. How did she do?
