See All the Stars at the Cannes Film Festival - So Far!

The Cannes Film Festival is coming to a close on Sunday, but the South of France has been flooded with stars since it kicked off last Wednesday. Jeremy Renner joined his costar Marion Cotillard and their director James Gray at the photocall for The Immigrant this afternoon ahead of the premiere, while Uma Thurman smiled as she boarded a yacht before the red carpet. Yesterday, Heidi Klum took the stage with Kenneth Cole at the annual amfAR gala, and Leonardo DiCaprio and Baz Luhrmann were among the first to arrive in Cannes, since The Great Gatsby opened the international film extravaganza this year. Over the past two weeks, other stars like Matt Damon, Milla Jovovich, Justin Timberlake, and Alec Baldwin have also been getting in on the Cannes fun. Kerry Washington and Michelle Obama Bring Dance Moves and Wise Words to DC Kids

Kerry Washington teamed up with Michelle Obama to honor students and teachers at Savoy Elementary School in Washington DC today. Both ladies spent time singing, dancing, and performing with the kids on stage, and the first lady made a special trip to one of the classrooms to show off her exercise skills and yoga moves. Between the fun, Michelle spoke to the students and faculty about the importance of overcoming failure - a valuable and encouraging message for Savoy. The school, which was once one of the lowest-performing in the District of Columbia, has shown significant signs of improvement since being designated as one of eight institutions selected for the Turnaround Arts Initiative by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities in 2012.

Celebrities like Kerry Washington, Forest Whitaker, and Sarah Jessica Parker joined the Obama administration in those efforts to help turn around failing schools by integrating arts education. While on stage today, Michelle took the opportunity to use Kerry as an example of conquering setbacks in life, telling the crowd that the Scandal star made it big by not getting discouraged by rejection in her career. "She spent a lot of time practicing and working and trying out for things and having people tell her no," the first lady said, adding, "Could you imagine somebody telling Kerry that she wasn't pretty enough, she wasn't tall enough, she was too short? That's all performing is."

On par with Cannes past, this season's stylish set kicked off the glamour Gatsby-style with the film's premiere on day one, and continued to wow with every subsequent premiere and party. After the glamour high that is amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS gala, we braced ourselves for a slowdown, but fears were unfounded. The models in town for the event brought more beauty to the red carpet, while Hollywood royalty like Marion Cotillard and Nicole Kidman showed off more glorious gowns. All the red carpet glamour at Cannes certainly made this week a very stylish seven days to remember, but so did fashionable events here at home. Case in point: Coco Rocha and her friend Zac Posen both attended the debut of photographer Steve Sebring's latest works, called Revolution. Earlier in the week, Olivier Theyskens hosted a party in the Big Apple for the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America, or ACRIA, that drew his fellow designers Prabal Gurung and Peter Som.

Retailer Claire Distenfeld of the boutique Fivestory hosted an event for the 2013 CFDA Award nominees that included Cushnie et Ochs designers Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs, Anna Wintour attended a Cartier garden party at the Museum of Modern Art, and Solange Knowles performed at Intermix's 20th birthday bash.
