Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall round out an all-star cast in Iron Man 3, and when we sat down with the duo at a recent press day for the movie, they told us what it was like to join one of the most popular film franchises in the world. Guy and Rebecca also weighed in on working with Robert Downey Jr., who Guy says is "great fun," and playing two of the movie's most morally complicated characters. When audiences first glimpse Guy Pearce in Iron Man 3, the award-winning actor is almost unrecognizable as a bespectacled and greasy-haired scientist. We spoke to Guy at tonight's premiere of the film, where he told us he opted not to show his wife pictures of himself in character until after shooting was over. Guy also talked about starring alongside RDJ and Gwyneth Paltrow and how the duo, who have starred in all three Iron Man films together, made the process seem "small" and "intimate" — despite the movie's big budget and state-of-the-art effects.
Robert Pattinson was on set to film scenes for The Rover with Guy Pearce in Australia last week. Robert showed off a much different look from his well-groomed Twilight character, sporting facial hair, a buzz cut, and a pair of fake yellow teeth. The upcoming drama, which is set in the Australian Outback, stars Robert as a naive gang member who joins Guy to reclaim his stolen possessions.
While Robert is working Down Under, his girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, has been having fun with friends in LA. Kristen met up with Katy Perry's assistant, Tamra Natisin, to attend a concert over the weekend and stepped out for another show with Taylor Lautner on Tuesday night.

Shia LaBeouf and his Lawless leading man Guy Pearce posed for pictures on the red carpet at their LA premiere last night. The screening brought out many celebs, though Shia mainly had eyes for his girlfriend, Karolyn Pho. Diddy smiled for the cameras with his son Quincy, and Liberty Ross, not wearing her wedding ring, also checked out the screening. Shia brought the picture west after last week's NYC premiere of Lawless, where he told us about bonding with costars Jessica Chastain and Tom Hardy over moonshine. The picture arrives in theaters next Wednesday on Aug. 29, so Shia and company have a few more days to talk up the Prohibition-era action movie. Another topic that's getting lots of attention is Shia's next role — his part in Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac apparently requires actual sex scenes.
Fans gathered at London's Leicester Square today to try and get a peek of Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Guy Pearce at the world premiere of Prometheus. The trio were also joined on the blue carpet by the film's director, Ridley Scott. Charlize, dressed in Christian Dior, is back in the UK following a recent stint there promoting her other major release, tomorrow's Snow White and the Huntsman with costar Kristen Stewart. Michael's in London, his home base, after a weekend of partying at Monaco's Formula One Grand Prix, where he ran into X-Men: First Class costars Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
This is one of the first major Prometheus event for Charlize, Michael, and Guy. However, the movie's viral video campaign kicked off earlier this Spring. Michael's character, an android named David, gave fans a sneak peek at the alien sci-fi thriller. Next Friday, June 8, Charlize will battle herself at the box office when Prometheus opens against Snow White and the Huntsman. She's also going head-to-head against other A-list celebrities in the PopSugar 100 faceoff — have you voted yet?
There was a great deal for the Weinstein Company to celebrate after the SAG Awards in LA last night. They hosted a bash, along with Dewar's, at the Chateau Marmont honoring this year's crop of films, including The Iron Lady, The Artist, and My Week With Marilyn. The star of the latter film, Michelle Williams, took home a statue at the recent Golden Globe Awards, but yesterday, it was The Artist's Jean Dujardin who was onstage accepting an honor. Michelle attended the afterparty nonetheless, still decked out in her red Valentino gown. She made the rounds chatting up Bérénice Bejo, while another of the evening's winners, Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, had a moment with Jean. For the worst criminals in the world, a maximum-security prison on this planet will no longer suffice. In Lock-Out, the worst of the worst get to go to space. For some reason, the president's daughter is on a "goodwill mission" at the place where the most dangerous dudes in the world serve their time. During her stay, the inmates have an uprising, and there's one guy in the world who can stop them. The gorgeous Guy Pearce plays the bad boy Snow who is (and I quote) "the best there is — but he's a loose cannon."
My first impressions when I saw that Lock-Out trailer? It's a high-tech Con Air in space: the inmates take over, and they're doomed to have an epic crash down to Earth. However, the movie does have the same producers as Liam Neeson's thriller Taken, which proved to be a decent film. In the same vein, the actress who played Neeson's kidnapped daughter in the film, Maggie Grace, plays the president's daughter in Lock-Out — looks like she's got the damsel-in-distress gig down pat. See if you think Pearce and Grace have got this film locked down when you check out the trailer.
