Tom Cruise gave a wave as he arrived at Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Tom Cruise gave a wave as he arrived at Jimmy Kimmel Live! in LA last night. The actor stopped to chat with Jimmy about his new sci-fi movie, Oblivion, which is out in the US next Friday, April 19. Tom spoke with Jimmy about the exhausting but fun press tour for the movie that's taken him around the world, including a stop in the land of his ancestors, Ireland. Tom was honored in Dublin with a certificate commemorating his Irish heritage, and genealogical researchers shared some good news. As Tom told Jimmy, "They traced my family back to the ninth century in Ireland. I had no idea it went back that far! . . . I found out my ancestors were the rulers of North Ireland . . . you can't make this up — they owned a town called Hollywood."

It's been a busy week for Tom. On Wednesday, he attended the LA premiere of Oblivion, and on the red carpet, he told us about his unending passion for acting and how his love for performing means he probably won't ever direct.
