Joe Manganiello showed off his impressive abs as he hit the beach in Hawaii with a female friend yesterday. The actor, who waded into the water with the bikini-clad woman, sported a baseball cap and swim trunks. Joe stays in tip-top shape for his role as Alcide on True Blood, and his buff bod was also appreciated on the set of Magic Mike, one of his first big movies. The film, loosely based on Channing Tatum's days as an exotic dancer, also stars Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Bomer, and Alex Pettyfer. The guys most recently shot in Tampa, but have also put in time in Miami and LA. Joe's most recent stop in the City of Angels, however, was linked to his small screen work. Last weekend he attended the Scream Awards, where his performance as True Blood's hottest werewolf earned him the honor for best male breakout performance.

True Blood's steamiest werewolf, Joe Manganiello, goes shirtless, modeling the Summer's hottest men's swimwear for the July issue of GQ. The setting may be picturesque, but it's hard to take our eyes off those abs, which are — thankfully — front and center in many of his scenes for HBO's hit vampire show, True Blood, which finally returns this Sunday. With Sookie and Bill on the outs, perhaps there's a door open for romance with Alcide in season four. As for Joe, he plays it coy about any spoilers for the upcoming season and the six-pack he has to maintain for the part, saying, "If Alcide was described as weighing 300 pounds with a comb-over and missing his front teeth, that's what I would look like."
