Looks like the cold weather in Park City has everyone feeling like a curly girl, because celebrities from Elizabeth Banks and Kate Bosworth to Judy Reyes (aka Carla from Scrubs) and Liv Tyler have been rocking ringlets while at Sundance. It makes sense to wear curls when the heat and humidity are lower, since you get less frizz and curls look pretty and presentable even after encounters with ski caps and coat hoods. When the weather outside is frightful, do you think keeping it curly is a good idea?
It may be hard to top hot dog eating contests and faux pregnancies, but the networks are going to have to find a way to come up with more clever pregnancy fodder to inject into their story lines with the number of network ladies firing up buns in their ovens. ABC has quite a few expectant mamas in its lineup while NBC, CBS, and Lifetime aren't too far behind in the baby bump race. Tiffani Thiessen plans to put parenthood on hold since she's signed on to a new show, but she may find inspiration in these fuller tummied leading ladies.
After spending a long day sitting on panels and fielding questions at the TCAs, the ABC and Disney stars got dressed up and hit the red carpet last night. Despite moving filming to NYC, the Ugly Betty beauties like Becki Newton (get her look here) were representing, even with no America Ferrera. Mixing our medical shows, Kate Walsh hung all over Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence celebrating life back on ABC. Nick Lachey didn't have Vanessa on his arm but looked handsome out promoting his High School Musical reality show. The cast and crew of Scrubs celebrated their 6th Season Premiere last night at the Esquire House in Beverly Hills. And despite rumors that this might be Zach's final season, NBC is feeling very confident about the show. So confident that they are putting it up against Grey's Anatomy on Thursday nights.
While most producers would be totally terrified, head honcho Bill Lawrence seems to be keeping his sense of humor about the whole thing. He says, "If NBC is counting on 'Scrubs' then they are sh*t out of luck my friend. First of all, I am a huge TV fan -- Thursday night on NBC should be comedy. Secondly, we're going to think of something to name Zach Braff's character like McSomething -- McWeenie or McCheesy or something." I guess Dr. Cox won't be short of nicknames for JD this season. We like that NBC is going back to their roots with Thursday night comedies but it's going to be hard to choose between Grey's, The OC and Scrubs. The season premiere is November 30th at 9/8 central.
