It's Friday, which means it's time to crown CelebStyle's top star styles of the week. This week we had a bevy of A-list beauties working flirty florals, edgy ensembles, and killer color combos that must be re-created for your next outing, day or night. Our standouts are Selena Gomez in a midriff-bearing look, Krysten Ritter in a sexy LBD, Ali Larter in feminine florals, and a few more, including Rachel Bilson, Charlize Theron, Amy Smart, and Kate Beckinsale. Check out all our coveted winners, and then shop the pieces for yourself to channel your favorite celebrity styles.
The Alexander McQueen dress Krysten Ritter wore to last night's True Blood season five premiere in LA was what all little black dresses should strive to be. It was equal parts sexy — hello thigh-high slit and edgy asymmetrical neckline — and demure thanks to the knee-length hemline and short sleeves. The actress completed her all-black look with Jimmy Choo black patent Loila sandals — here's the suede pair ($975) — and a Jimmy Choo clutch. If you want to achieve Krysten's red-carpet feel, you have a few options. This ASOS midi pencil dress ($70), this David Meister asymmetrical pleated dress ($228), and this BCBGMAXAZRIA asymmetrical dress ($122, originally $198) are all great. Just add a studded belt to mimic the detail on Krysten's McQueen.
The celebrity floral-print obsession has been ongoing for many seasons, but we're here to deliver the newest and most gorgeous crop yet. Eva Mendes was just spotted in a retro rose-print Free People frock on a coffee run in LA, Nina Dobrev wore a digital floral-print Lisa Ho dress at The Grove, and AnnaSophia Robb went flirty in her Alice + Olivia floral number in New York. Want to see who else bloomed in a fabulous floral frock? Step inside for all the fresh details!
Need a new way to make your fringe look even hotter for any nighttime occasion? Steal these bun-styling ideas from the likes of Bella Heathcote, Krysten Ritter, and Lea Michele, then. The bun is quickly becoming a go-to red-carpet updo because it can be polished and neat (like Bella's chignon) or a little messy (as with Krysten's high-on-top ballet bun). But one way to really stand out with this style is to try a braided version similar to Lea's, which turns a simple knot into something more complex and bohemian chic. Need more inspiration? Watch our step-by-step tutorial to getting a similar braided bun seen on Charlize Theron, and add a touch of fringe for a modern appeal.
ABC hosted a bash for the casts of their TV shows, both old and new, last night at NYC's Dream Downtown Hotel to celebrate the Upfronts. Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton cuddled up after a long day promoting their new series Nashville. Another new program, Duets, had the support of judges Robin Thicke, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend. Many of ABCs returning hits were represented, too, like Suburgatory and Happy Endings. Revenge couple Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman were adorable on the red carpet, while Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23's Krysten Ritter posed solo. Once Upon a Time's real-life couple Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas did press with costar Jennifer Morrison.
We caught up with Duets' Robin, who spoke about his wife Paula Patton and their young son Julian. The couple apparently has a performer on their hands. Robin said, "He's got the ABC song down now. I'm hoping he'll learn a different one." Paula won't be able to watch the program, however. Robin added, "I told her I never want her to watch it, because she already loves me and I don't want that to go backwards at all. I don't want to lose any points, so just love me the way I am right now and don't watch any of my stuff."
Summer travel is something many stars said they're looking forward to. Revenge's Emily is dating costar Josh Bowman and he might be lucky enough to accompany her on some excursions. She is taking the next few months off and clued us in on her plans. Emily said, "I'm going to see my family on Thursday and I'm so excited. I get a few days with them, so I just want to have some downtime and hang with them. And then traveling! I've been traveling loads. I was in Sydney. I'm going to go to Europe for a bit. I've been really enjoying traveling . . . I think it's good to have a chance of perspective and leave LA, the bubble that is LA, once in a while." Don't Trust the B's Krysten Ritter has similar plans to let loose during a break. She said she's most looking forward to attending "bikini boot camp in Mexico!"
While promoting her new show Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23 at The Grove in LA, Krysten Ritter showed off a pair of fabulous charitable earrings by JewelMint. Her Bermuda earrings ($29.99) are in support of Autism Speaks, so if you buy one, JewelMint will donate 50 percent of the proceeds to the charity. We love the way Krysten juxtaposed her geometric earrings with a polka-dot dress, but you can also wear them in a handful of other equally standout ways: with denim cutoffs and a fringe tank at a concert, with a little black leather dress for dinner, or a button-down blouse and baggy trousers at work. Score Krysten's exact earrings, and feed your charitable heart, all at the same time.
Happy Friday — you know what that means, it's time to announce our CelebStyle top stars of the week! This week's standouts were Emma Roberts in a smashing black-on-black Valentino ensemble, Jessica Alba in an unparalleled street-chic look complete with a fresh Tory Burch fedora, Solange Knowles in a stunning Rachel Roy gown with a sparkling Edie Parker clutch, and a few more top trendsetters including Diane Kruger, Krysten Ritter, Chrissy Teigen, and Estella Warren. Step inside to see who was crowned a CelebStyle top star, why we loved their looks, and how you can re-create them yourself.
Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23 actress Krysten Ritter has a knack for styling flirty ensembles that have us totally smitten, and that's why we love the most recent look — a blue cutout Lyn Devon dress with lace-up Aldo espadrilles — she donned at a boutique benefit in Santa Monica. The length of Krysten's frock is perfect for any age, but what really makes it pop are the side cutouts and bold blue hue. Her neutral espadrilles, gray leather Sud De Sur clutch, and circle drop earrings by Elizabeth Wells complemented her retro style flawlessly. Work a sassy cutout dress with Krysten's exact shoes for a bridal shower, or test-drive a black cutout number with caged sandals for a sexy-yet-sophisticated date-night look.
ABC's new show Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23 starring Krysten Ritter and Dreama Walker debuted in April. Dreama plays June, a Midwestern girl who relocates to NYC for a job and moves in with Krysten's character, Chloe, a total party girl. Judging from those polar-opposite characters, you can imagine that June is all about prim and proper cuts and fun colors, while Chloe sticks to dark hues and edgy styles. Before you tune in, step inside to get to know and shop June and Chloe's style.
