Are You a Better Person When Pregnant?

I admit it. I watched Lindsay Lohan's new movie, Labor Pains.

I admit it. I watched Lindsay Lohan's new movie, Labor Pains. As a woman faking a pregnancy, she supported her antics by saying, "I'm a better person when I'm pregnant." It got me thinking — was I a better person while pregnant? I didn't drink and it's been eons since I lit up a cigarette. I attended prenatal yoga and swim classes, drove more cautiously and tried to keep a cool temper in an effort not to stress my unborn baby. I even gave up fast food and dined on fruits and vegetables to up my nutrient intake. Many hormonal mamas-to-be are notoriously known for their devilish moments — a fate from which I was not immune. Pregnancy caused me to be more conscientious, but I'm not sure if it made me a better person. How about you?

Should Faking Pregnancy Be Punishable by Law?

Fake pregnancies are quite the phenomenon.

Fake pregnancies are quite the phenomenon. Beccah Beushausen, a social worker from Mokena, Ill, recently fooled more than a million readers with her blog of lies about her pregnancy with a terminally ill child. Now, ABC Family is preparing to air Lindsay Lohan's straight to cable flick, Labor Pains, about a secretary who fakes a baby bump to keep her job.

Women desire children for a variety of reasons — maternal instinct, to fill a void in their lives, to share their love or to keep pace with their mommy friends — but few pretend they are expecting to garner attention or perks or salvage relationships. Given the emotional toll fake pregnancies take on unsuspecting victims, do you think they should be considered a crime?

Are You Surprised Lindsay Lohan's "Labor Pains" Is Going Straight to TV?

Last Summer Lindsay Lohan was hard at work on her new movie Labor Pains in which her character pretended to be pregnant.

Last Summer Lindsay Lohan was hard at work on her new movie Labor Pains in which her character pretended to be pregnant. The studio rushed out the trailer when people were still talking about it, but something went wrong between there and the big screen. Today, the news came out that the movie will air on ABC Family on July 9 before hitting DVD a month later.

Lindsay hasn't been shy about talking about her struggling career recently, and this is just another blow to the troubled starlet. We thought this would be her comedic return to the big screen, but apparently we'll have to tune in this Summer to see it. So what do you think — are you surprised Labor Pains is going straight to TV?

Maybe it's my Mean Girls fandom talking, but I'm really rooting for her to have a good acting comeback. The movie doesn't have a release date yet (other than a vague "sometime in 2009"), so for now, you can get a taste of Labor Pains by watching the trailer here.

First, I've got to say that I'm happy Lindsay Lohan has completed enough work on a project to have it made into a trailer. Maybe it's my Mean Girls fandom talking, but I'm really rooting for her to have a good acting comeback.

So, here's the trailer for Labor Pains, which we first heard about back in June. It's an indie comedy that finds Lohan playing Thea, a young woman who's about to be fired from her job when she lies to her boss that she's pregnant. Enter fake bellies, fake birthing classes, and a fake relationship to go along with it all.

The project has a pretty great cast, comedy-wise, with Janeane Garofalo, Cheryl Hines, and Chris Parnell among the stars (also, Creed Bratton from The Office! And, um, Kevin Covais from American Idol). I'm not blown away by the trailer, which kind of strikes me as a less-original Baby Mama, but it's not a trainwreck, either. So, I have hope!

Lindsay Has Leggings and Labor Before Getting Ugly Again

Even without Samantha by her side, it was another smiley day for Lindsay Lohan on the set of Labor Pains yesterday.

Even without Samantha by her side, it was another smiley day for Lindsay Lohan on the set of Labor Pains yesterday. She's been dedicated to her new film since the beginning of the Summer, but it won't be long before she has to jet to the East Coast to film her scenes for the next season of Ugly Betty. We're excited to see her return to the show for longer than the blink-and-you'll-miss-it tease in the season finale, but in the meantime we've got her maybe appearance on Living Lohan to look forward to and her legging line, which is now on sale!

The Hills and Living Lohan Worlds Collide

Lindsay Lohan and her leggings were back to work on the set of Labor Pains in LA yesterday.

Lindsay Lohan and her leggings were back to work on the set of Labor Pains in LA yesterday. In the midst of her big birthday weekend she also found time to celebrate Fourth of July. LL spent the holiday at the DKNY house in Malibu, but rather than rub elbows with the ladies of The Hills, she kept to herself and texted the day away. Her mother and sister were also there shooting Living Lohan, where Lindsay may be making a cameo after all. Sounds like a full house of reality TV filming, but we'll have to wait until the shows air to catch if there's any crossover.
