Where's the beef? The original Predator had Arnold Schwarzenegger for its muscled man power, but in the latest reboot, we have . . . Topher Grace?! To its credit, this new incarnation of Predators is directed by Robert Rodriguez of Sin City fame, and as such, it seems to pack a wallop of jumpy, edge-of-your-seat moments.

Grace, Adrien Brody, and Laurence Fishburne star in the story of a group of rough-and-tough humans who are hunted by an alien race. This time, however, they're in foreign territory — an entire other planet — rather than on their own Earth home turf.

The film comes out on July 7. Watch the preview, and tell me it doesn't bear a striking resemblance to the Oceanic 6 (perhaps the predator is actually the smoke monster?), when you read more

Laurence Fishburne Has His Eye on CSI

One of the big questions back at the TCA press tour was what CSI would look like without its leading man, William Petersen, who's leaving this season.

One of the big questions back at the TCA press tour was what CSI would look like without its leading man, William Petersen, who's leaving this season. Here's our first big clue: Laurence Fishburne is in talks to step in as the new male lead.

He'd be getting a pretty meaty role, too. As CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler described it, the new guy comes from outside the CSI unit and has a genetic profile comparable to that of a serial killer. He knows about the tendency, though he hasn't actually acted on any killer impulses to date.

Searching for the right actor for the role has apparently been a huge undertaking, with John Malkovich and Kurt Russell also named as top choices — but Malkovich turned down the job.

Landing an Oscar nominee and big name like Fishburne would seem like a serious score for CSI — but, if you're not already a viewer, would it draw you in? And, if you are a CSI fan, do you think Fishburne would mesh well with the current cast?

MLP, Alec, Whoopi, and Daniel Help Everything Come Up Tony

Radio City Music Hall was bursting with stars of the stage last night at the 2008 Tony Awards.

Radio City Music Hall was bursting with stars of the stage last night at the 2008 Tony Awards. The glitz and glamour were everywhere as some of the biggest names in Broadway came together to celebrate each other. Mary-Louise Parker was a highlight as usual, though I'm not sure what to say about the Counting Crows' Adam Duritz on her arm. Instead, I'll just get more excited that Weeds is back tonight! Alec Baldwin always looks dapper all dressed up, while Daniel Radcliffe made a surprise appearance before he makes his (naked) Broadway debut. Whoopi Goldberg — wearing Christian Siriano! — hosted the evening, helping hand out the biggest awards to In the Heights for best musical and August: Osage County for best play. Check out the full list of winners here.

Kate, Jim and Kevin Score Lucky 21 in Vegas

Watch out Vegas, some of the world's most famous card counters (at least they play it in the movies!) hit sin city last night.

Watch out Vegas, some of the world's most famous card counters (at least they play it in the movies!) hit sin city last night. Kate Bosworth the fashionista did not disappoint with her daring outfit, which she managed to pull off, premiering 21 with her costars. While her boyfriend wasn't by her side, she looks pretty cozy with cutie up-and-comer Jim Sturgess and Kevin Spacey. The ensemble cast is set to be honored at ShoWest tonight so we'll be seeing more of all these fresh and fabulous faces — guess they're not the only ones being dealt the lucky 21 this week (sorry, cheesy).

Movie Preview: 21 With Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth

I have to admit, I kind of enjoy watching Kevin Spacey play the seedy, morally gray characters as he gets older.

I have to admit, I kind of enjoy watching Kevin Spacey play the seedy, morally gray characters as he gets older. He's pretty darn convincing as the everyman-turned-bad.

In 21, a casino heist movie due in theaters March 28, he plays a man who leads six MIT students in an operation to count cards at various Vegas casinos, counting their way to millions of dollars. To check out the trailer before 21 weasles its way into theaters in March, read more

The Alchemist to Be Adapted by Laurence Fishburne

Laurence Fishburne is planning to write and direct an adaptation of Paulo Coelho's adventure novel The Alchemist.

Laurence Fishburne is planning to write and direct an adaptation of Paulo Coelho's adventure novel The Alchemist. As the Variety article puts it, the "story centers on a young Spaniard who embarks on a quest to find a hidden treasure within the Egyptian pyramids."

And yet, this book is so much more than just that story! This is one of the few books I've read several times, finding new inspiration with each additional read. I have faith Fishburne could do some good things with an adaptation, but this is one book to definitely read if you haven't yet before it's brought to Hollywood. And then come back so we can discuss it.

Chris Rock Sure He Loves His Wife

Despite recent whispering that there was a love triangle of sorts between Chris Rock, his wife Malaak and his I Think I Love My Wife co-star Kerry Washington, it was nice to see that everyone was friendly at last night's premiere.

Despite recent whispering that there was a love triangle of sorts between Chris Rock, his wife Malaak and his I Think I Love My Wife co-star Kerry Washington, it was nice to see that everyone was friendly at last night's premiere. The Rocks already denied rumors that their marriage is on the, uh, rocks, and after seeing them on the red carpet last night, it looks like they are going strong. It's always good to hear that not all the nasty rumors that come out of Hollywood are true!

As for fellow GW grad, Kerry Washington, we think she looks amazing! Click here for a review of the movie in theaters this weekend and to see lots more pics including Mary J. Blige, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Gina Torres and Laurence Fishburne just read more

Sean Penn is Honored and Angry

Sean Penn was honored last night at the Christopher Reeve First Amendment Awards in NYC.

Sean Penn was honored last night at the Christopher Reeve First Amendment Awards in NYC. When the outspoken actor took the stage to accept his award he took the opportunity to say we should impeach the president, but then that was interrupted by his cell phone that wouldn't stop ringing. He shocked the crowd including Heather Graham, Laurence Fishburne, Kerry Washington and others. Here's more:

Penn spoke in measured tones but was actually quite inflammatory. The combination worked. He also threw a verbal grenade into the crowd when he said: "So look, if we attempt to impeach for lying about a [oral sex act], yet accept these almost certain abuses without challenge, we become a [human] stain on the flag we wave."

Penn's proclamation went beyond just staining the red, white and blue. He preceded that line with: "Let's put his administration under oath," he said. "And then if the crimes of treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors are proven, do as Article 2, Section 4 of the United States constitution provides, and remove the president, vice president, and … civil officers of the United States from office."

Branford Marsalis, Harvey Keitel and Marcia Gay Harden were also honored last night. More pics of Sean Penn, Marcia Gay Harden, Heather, Kerry, Laurence and more so read more
