Men in Black 3

Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back and in top shape 15 years after the original Men in Black. The partners are now tasked with defeating Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement), an escaped convict bent on exacting revenge on the man who put him there: K. In order to save his partner, J travels back to the '60s, where he encounters a younger (and somewhat softer) K, played by Josh Brolin. It's a witty, welcome reminder of why everyone loved the first film. DVD extras include a gag reel, a making-of featurette, and a music video by Pitbull.

Lawless

Shia LaBeouf, Jason Clarke, and Tom Hardy star as bootlegging brothers during the Prohibition era. Almost as soon as they set up shop, their American dream turns into a gangster story as their business catches the eye of a lawman (Guy Pearce). The film isn't short on graphic violence, but it also features a couple of love stories and its share of unexpectedly funny moments. Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain also star in the period drama. Extras include commentary, two featurettes, a Willie Nelson music video, and deleted scenes.

For the second week in a row, exorcism horror movie The Possession came in at number one at the box office, earning $9.5 million from moviegoers. That's not saying much, considering it was the worst weekend at the box office since 2008. Shia LaBeouf's Lawless took second with $6 million, while The Words — the only new release to place in the top five — earned third with $5 million. The Expendables 2 hung in fourth place with $4.6 million, followed by The Bourne Legacy with $4 million.

Shia LaBeouf Brings a Date to Lawless's LA Premiere

Shia LaBeouf and his Lawless leading man Guy Pearce posed for pictures on the red carpet at their LA premiere last night.

Shia LaBeouf and his Lawless leading man Guy Pearce posed for pictures on the red carpet at their LA premiere last night. The screening brought out many celebs, though Shia mainly had eyes for his girlfriend, Karolyn Pho. Diddy smiled for the cameras with his son Quincy, and Liberty Ross, not wearing her wedding ring, also checked out the screening. Shia brought the picture west after last week's NYC premiere of Lawless, where he told us about bonding with costars Jessica Chastain and Tom Hardy over moonshine. The picture arrives in theaters next Wednesday on Aug. 29, so Shia and company have a few more days to talk up the Prohibition-era action movie. Another topic that's getting lots of attention is Shia's next role — his part in Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac apparently requires actual sex scenes.

Shia LaBeouf and Jessica Chastain Team Up to Show Off Lawless in NYC

Shia LaBeouf and his Lawless leading lady, Jessica Chastain, teamed up for a Cinema Society screening of their film at NYC's Paley Center for Media.

Shia LaBeouf and his Lawless leading lady, Jessica Chastain, teamed up for a Cinema Society screening of their film at NYC's Paley Center for Media. The screening was also sponsored by YSL Beaute, and Jessica was fittingly decked out in a YSL dress with Tom Binns jewelry. She kept up her brand loyalty, wearing a black YSL outfit. In addition to Shia and Jessica, other stars checked out the premiere. Seth Meyers and Chloe Sevigny swung by, as did Patti Smith, Patricia Clarkson, and Melissa Leo. Later on, Shia and Jessica toasted their action movie, which is out Aug. 29, with an afterparty at Gallow Green at the McKittrick Hotel.

We caught a moment with both stars on the red carpet, and they spoke about how they stuck close to the film's Prohibition-era theme by drinking moonshine after the cameras stopped rolling. Shia viewed drinking as a good bonding experience with the cast, but Jessica didn't really take to it. She told us, "We would drink moonshine — I didn't drink so much moonshine. I like liquor that's sweet, and the moonshine we had down there wasn't so sweet!" Catch more from our interviews with both Shia and Jessica later today on PopSugar Rush.
