The drama never ends with Britney Spears, but this time it's her own family who is stirring the pot. It seems that Britney's father, Jamie Spears (who claims to be speaking for the whole family), is rather disappointed and embarrassed by his daughter's recent actions, especially that of firing her manager Larry Rudolph. Jamie went so far as to release the following statement to Page Six:
"When Larry Rudolph talked Britney into going into rehab, he was doing what her mother, father and team of professionals with over 100 years of experience knew needed to be done. She was out of control. Larry was the one chosen by the team to roll up his sleeves and deliver the message, to help save her life.
"The Spears family would like to publicly apologize to Larry for our daughter's statements about him over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, she blames him and her family for where she is at today with her kids and career. Larry has always been there for Britney. For this, we will forever be grateful to him."
Britney's newly rehired publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick responded with this from Brit, "I am praying for my father. We have never had a good relationship. It's sad that all the men that have been in my life do not know how to accept a real woman's love. I am concentrating on my work and my life right now." Oh, bringing K-Fed and Justin into this, too. Plus, the Page Six item claims a friend of Britney's says that she had no drugs in her system when she entered Promises and shaved her head out of solidarity for her aunt who recently died of cancer. So, basically the public meltdown was entirely blown out of proportion. Sure.
While Britney already made it clear in her bizarre video rant last weekend that she isn't happy with her management for sending her to rehab, I imagine this isn't the last we'll hear of this very public argument. She never has been one to mince words.
