George Clooney was on Live With Regis and Kelly today to talk about his latest directorial effort The Ides of March. George premiered the movie last night in NYC with his costars Evan Rachel Wood, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Paul Giamatti, but Ryan Gosling wasn't on hand for the film's East Coast debut. He's been tied up in LA working on his next film, The Gangster Squad, in recent weeks. We chatted with George last night on the red carpet, where he talked about filming the political thriller in the Midwest and some of the odd jobs he worked before he was famous. Before making his way to the event last night, George stopped by the Time, Inc. offices for a live interview. George said he'd never join Twitter, joked about casting Ryan Gosling in his film because he was "cheaper" than other stars, and also shrugged off the idea of running for political office himself during the chat.
Alexander Skarsgard has been taking it all off a little more often than usual on this season of True Blood, so naturally when he visited Live! With Regis and Kelly, it was exactly what they wanted to ask him about. He deadpans about his European origins and then jokes around with the hosts (who both seem flustered by him). He also addresses the burning question of whether people bite him in real life . . . sort of.
This Friday, fans will finally be able to see one of the most anticipated moments in the Harry Potter films, the kiss between Rupert Grint's Ron and Emma Watson's Hermione, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
This Friday, fans will finally be able to see one of the most anticipated moments in the Harry Potter films, the kiss between Rupert Grint's Ron and Emma Watson's Hermione, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. However, Rupert told Regis and Kelly today that neither him nor Emma was particularly looking forward to the lip-lock. He says kissing Emma was like kissing his sister, and he'd rather share a smooching scene with a different actress. Watch the clip now to see who his secret celebrity crush is!
This morning on Live With Regis and Kelly, Kelly and guest cohost, former NFL player Michael Strahan, got their groove on when Kelly announced the greatest workout song of all time. Which song took the title in the Gold's Gym March Music Madness competition? It was Kanye West's "Stronger," which Strahan admitted to voting for in the competition. But that didn't stop Ripa from revealing her favorite workout tunes, which included "Gonna Fly Now," also known as "Theme From Rocky," "On to the Next One" from Jay-Z, and OutKast's "Rosa Parks." What is your favorite workout song?
The royal wedding invites may have already been sent out, but Reese Witherspoon is still hoping hers arrives in the mail! The actress and newlywed flashed her gorgeous wedding ring during her interview this morning on Live With Regis and Kelly, where she shared her excitement for William and Kate's happy day. Diane Kruger only had a short time on Regis and Kelly, because she had to hop a plane to be with her boyfriend of 5 years, Joshua Jackson. She said it is the first time they've ever been together on Valentine's Day.
On this morning's episode of Live With Regis and Kelly, Regis Philbin announced that the current season will be his last. After 28 years of cohosting the morning talk show (remember when it was Live With Regis and Kathie Lee?), Philbin will be retiring at the end of the Summer. At 79 years old, I suppose it was only a matter of time, but I have to admit that I'm kind of bummed about this news. Sure, days when I can actually watch Regis and Kelly are few and far between, but I've grown up with the show, and there's something sweetly comforting about Philbin's banter with Ripa.
As for what will happen next year, we'll still have to wait to find out how the show will go on without Philbin. After 10 years, Ripa has clearly made a name for herself as the face of the morning show, and it wouldn't be the first time she took the reins without her copilot (various celebs have filled in for Philbin over the years). Do you have any ideas for who should take over for Regis? And more importantly — will you miss him?
