This recently released photo of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn is refreshingly different from the glitzy, camp portrayals of the star we're used to seeing. But even so, it's hard to do an icon like Marilyn justice, especially since there's already an extensive record of her on celluloid. Of the bevy of celebrities who've dressed up as Norma Jeane Baker, I've picked out 10 of the best and most interesting takes on her look. Some of them have become iconic in their own right, and some are sweetly unexpected tributes. So who wore the beauty mark best? Just click through to decide for yourself.
Love It or Hate It? Mira Sorvino's Intentionally Grown-Out Roots
She may have played a ditz in Mighty Aphrodite, but Mira Sorvino's one smart lady — she graduated from Harvard magna cum laude. So the exposed dark roots she was rocking at the Deauville Film Festival are definitely a style statement, not an accident. What do you think? Are Mira's roots an experimental, sexy red carpet look, or a momentary lapse in beauty judgment?

A Fabby Halloween: Romy and Michele
With my own high school reunion looming over me, I can't help but rejoice in the '97 chick flick Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. My night will surely not have me laughing every five minutes (actually, maybe), be filled with candy colored clothes (actually, maybe), and have the ever-hilarious Janeane Garofalo storming through (if only). Romy and Michele are the cutest losers I've ever met — and they love to dress up. Grab your hottest homie and find some blond wigs. From there, opt to be Romy and Michele by day — you just need casual but funky separates. Or, Romy and Michele on the dance floor in metallic Barbie-girl dresses and platform sandals. Lastly, you can be faux Post-It inventors in Robert Palmer babe black. The many lovable personalities of these kooky blondes can all be done on a dime, so what are you waiting for?

Mira Sorvino, Victor Garber Join Knights Templar Miniseries

Mira Sorvino has just signed on to join Victor Garber in an NBC miniseries based on the bestselling Raymond Khoury novel, The Last Templar. Variety continues:
Romantic adventure-themed mini stars Sorvino as Tess Chaykin, a Manhattan archaeologist searching for the medieval Knights Templar. Garber plays Monsignor De Angelis, who helps find the artifact.
Sure, it sounds like some kind of wannabe Da Vinci Code, but the story of the Knights Templar might be intriguing enough to make this production different and interesting. Also: Victor Garber and Mira Sorvino? Sign me up.
House Rundown: Episode 11, "Frozen"

From what I understand, "Frozen" wasn't initially intended to be the post-Super Bowl episode of House: Even guest star Mira Sorvino didn't find out about the episode's prime placement until she was already on set. Considering that, I thought the producers did a remarkable job of making this episode feel special. Practically the whole gang was there (save for Chase), and the case itself was a new spin on the old House formula. Plus, there was some romance — the best part of which we had to wait to the very end to understand. Want to talk more about it? Just read more
Interview: Mira Sorvino on Getting "Frozen" on House
House scored the prime post-Super Bowl time slot this year, and to go along with it, the show also scored a big-name guest star: Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino. In "Frozen," Sorvino plays Cate, a psychiatry fellow at Princeton Plainsboro who starts developing symptoms of a mysterious illness while aiding a team exploring the South Pole. Connected to House only via webcam, she and the doctor struggle to save her life.

Sorvino chatted with reporters recently about starring on her favorite TV show, the sparks between Cate and House, and House's underlying good guy. Some excerpts:
- On how she came to do House: "Well, I’m a crazy House fan. It’s my favorite show on TV, and it’s funny because once I got pregnant with my first child, I ended up watching a lot more TV than I had for years and I just became absolutely addicted to House and just thought it was so intelligent and thought Hugh is so fantastic . . . So when I met Hugh at the Golden Globe three years ago, and I was five months pregnant and nominated for Human Trafficking and he was nominated for House and we were all seated at the same table, I just started gushing about how much I loved the show. And I think I might have frightened him. But then a few years later they called and said, 'We know Mira loves the show. We think we have one of the best female characters we’ve ever written on it. Would she like to come and do an episode?' I was really excited to do it, entering the world of my favorite show."
- On being a TV fan in general: "When you’re a film actor, you kind of reserve TV as the last bastion of suspension of disbelief. You get used to the characters and you don’t really think about the way that it’s made. When I watch movies, I’m a lot more critical about the stunts, the edits, the performances. But on TV that’s my little place where, OK, I’m just watching. I’m like everybody else; I’m just a spectator enjoying this."
I've got lots more from Sorvino — including the possibility of a Cate/House romance — so just read more
Stars Come Out With CNN to Celebrate Everyday Heroes
Last night in New York, some of the most recognized celebrities came out to honor everyday people who accomplished amazing things this year. The event was CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute, which featured performances from Mary J. Blige and Sheryl Crow along with presentations by Anderson Cooper and Tyra Banks among others. Ty-Ty did not dress down for the occasion. From a 12-year-old leukemia patient who made it his mission to register fellow minorities as bone marrow donors to a Seattle man who opened a clinic in Kenya to a teenager who developed a music program to help kids with autism, the honorees were an incredible group.

Halle, Sharon & Bar Celebrate H&M's Newest Designer
Roberto Cavalli had a nice entourage of ladies to help him launch his new H&M collection in Rome last night. Halle showed off her bump a little more than she did the other night in London, but she decided to keep some of her other assets covered up this time around. Sharon Stone managed to somehow look pregnant as well, while Leo's ex girlfriend Bar looked like the gorgeous model that she is. We think the collection looks pretty awesome, but check out Fab's sneak peek and decide for yourself.

Joaquin, Mark and Jennifer Make Red Carpet Reservation
Reservation Road premiered in LA last night, bringing out the movie's four big name stars. Joaquin, Mark, Jennifer and Mira all looked happy to be reunited on the red carpet, but I'm sure they were all missing their other all star costar, Elle Fanning. Jennifer Connelly was obviously too busy reveling in her new deal to be the face of Balenciaga to realize that the designer's runway look doesn't translate too well to the everyday premiere. Two words: Hot mess. With all the super dramatic movies opening this weekend it's hard to choose just one. If you're interested in Reservation Road (with its awesome cast....and cute Mark), check out my review over on Buzz. And then go ahead and get on the waiting list to nab Jennifer's shoes — they're gonna be all the rage.
