Tom Cruise brought the Hollywood star power to last night's New York premiere for Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol. Tom posed on the red carpet with wife Katie Holmes before stopping to chat with us about the holidays and his whirlwind promotional tour. We've got your up-close look at the A-list actor in today's PopSugar Rush!
Tom Cruise Has Katie Holmes by His Side For a Sexy MI4 NYC Premiere
Tom Cruise hit the red carpet for the NYC premiere of Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol in a sexy dark suit. He's been traveling around the world with costar Paula Patton to promote the action film, and now the duo are showing off their exciting project in the Big Apple. Tom had wife Katie Holmes by his side this evening, though, and she looked gorgeous in a sheer short dress.
Tom's MI4 comes out in just a few days, but his release isn't the only big news for the Holmes-Cruise family. Katie celebrated her 33rd birthday over the weekend and spent the day with Tom and their daughter Suri. She was back out in the city for brunch with a friend at Bubby's earlier today while Tom prepped for an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman.
Box Office: Sherlock Holmes Solves the Box Office Puzzle
Sequels dominated the box office this weekend, but it was Robert Downey Jr.'s reprisal of a famous detective that had the most success. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows came in first at the box office with $40 million, followed by animated sequel Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, with $23.5 million. Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, the fourth installment in the franchise, opened in limited release and came in third with $13 million. New Year's Eve earned the No. 4 spot with $7.4 million, while The Sitter rounded out the top five with $4.4 million. Roman Polanski's Carnage also opened in limited release, earning a modest $85,700.

Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol: a Ton of Tom Cruise Fun
Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol is the most fun you'll have at an action movie this season, maybe even the whole year. Tom Cruise is truly at his best as Ethan Hunt, and in the five years since MI3, everything from the stunts to the gadgets have gotten flashier while the A-list star at the center is still bringing his A game. This time around, Hunt is forced to go rogue when the Impossible Mission Force (IMF) is disbanded, and he's left with a team including goofy, techy Benji (Simon Pegg), sexy but heartbroken Jane (Paula Patton), and the mysterious Brandt (Jeremy Renner). From the moment the iconic theme music kicks in, Ghost Protocol is a blast.
The actual plot of the film is fairly straightforward as far as the MI series goes: Ethan and his ragtag team work to stop an imminent nuclear attack at the hands of a Russian mad man. The big mystery of Ghost Protocol is why exactly Ethan is locked up in a Moscow jail as the movie kicks off, and what exactly happened to end his marriage with Julia (Michelle Monaghan). The film makes a weak effort to involve the viewers in this emotional story line, and while it doesn't quite resonate, the movie has more than enough to make up for the shortcoming. Tom Cruise Runs Down the Side of a Building in the New Mission: Impossible Trailer

If you thought the Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol teaser was exciting, wait until you get a peek at the full-length trailer. The plot of the film is a bit clearer this time around (we even learn what "ghost protocol" is!), and there's a closer look at the rivalry between Ethan (Cruise) and Brandt (Jeremy Renner).
What I love most about this preview is that it's actually funny, thanks to Simon Pegg, but the real kicker is watching Cruise run down the side of a building like it's no big deal. The film hits theaters Dec. 21, but watch the new trailer when you read more
See a Mysterious Tom Cruise on the Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol Poster

The Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol trailer may not give us a great deal of detail about what the new assignment for Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is, but one thing is clear: the spy is just as shadowy as ever. Star Cruise nails the look of international man of mystery in the sequel's new poster, with a pattern of numbers and a look of calm determination across his face. No one has looked this intense in a hoodie since 8 Mile.

Watch Tom Cruise Kick Butt in the Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol Trailer
The trailer for Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol movie might already having me scratching my head, but boy, does it look exciting. Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt, but this time with some competition from Jeremy Renner (who's supposedly destined to take over the franchise after this film). The action-packed teaser also features glimpses of Josh Holloway, Simon Pegg, and Paula Patton, but of course the preview belongs to Cruise and his stunts. There are explosions, car chases, (and even a joke!) — all set to Eminem, and it's exactly the kind of high-octane teaser that will get fans pumped for the new installment.
The trailer, should you choose to accept it, can be seen when you read more
Tom Cruise Gets to Work While Katie Holmes Finds Herself in Laundry Mix-Up
Tom Cruise prepped for a scene on the Vancouver set of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol today. He's been filming in Canada while Katie Holmes and Suri have been busy in NYC. The mother-daughter duo grabbed a sweet late-night snack and caught a performance of Wicked when Katie wasn't busy promoting her Holmes & Yang collection. She and her design partner, Jeanne Yang, showed off their line at Barneys and then celebrated with a night on the town. Katie's evening out apparently ended with a funny run-in with the tenants of a Manhattan apartment building when she accidentally walked into the busy laundry room as she tried to leave through a secret exit.
Katie and Suri Shop and Eat Their Way Around Vancouver While Tom Works
Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise kicked off their Saturday getting pastries in Vancouver. The girls went home and changed outfits before heading back out to shop in the afternoon, and yesterday they swung by the bakery once more then visited Tom Cruise on the set of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Katie and Suri also stopped by to say hi while he filmed last week, with the married duo exchanging a sweet hug. Their stint in Canada has allowed Katie and Suri to explore many of the city's retail and dining options, though the gang frequently jets home to California. Katie and Tom even had a recent date at an LA production of Rock of Ages, which Tom is starring in the movie adaption of alongside Julianne Hough.
Katie Holmes Stops by the Set to Give Tom Cruise a Big Hug
Tom Cruise logged another night on the Vancouver set of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol yesterday after spending time with costars Simon Pegg and Paula Patton on Tuesday and Jeremy Renner on Wednesday. Yesterday was special for Tom, though, since his wife, Katie Holmes, stopped by to say hi with their daughter Suri. Katie and Tom were spotted sharing a sweet hug before she and Suri stopped for a chat with members of the crew. The girls broke from their coffee and snacks routine for the visit, but it seems they're all getting well-acquainted with the Canadian city and even showing some national pride. Katie, however, broke from the fun up North temporarily recently so she could make a quick trip to Italy for Milan Fashion Week. Tom has spent the last few months focusing on his big-screen blockbuster, but his next role will be a musical one in Rock of Ages. He's just lined up his costar, as Julianne Hough reportedly snagged the female lead.
