Nelly stopped by to chat with us on the red carpet at this evening's Grammy Awards in LA. It's Nelly's 14th time coming to the Grammys, and he shared what it's like having been around for so many years. He also spoke about who excites him in the rap game right now and what we can expect from his next album. Apparently he has a collaboration with another Nelly in the works — Nelly Furtado! Check it out.
TRL Says Goodbye With JT, Diddy, Beyonce and More
TRL had its final moments last night with a show bringing back the biggest stars who ever stopped by the Times Square studio. Beyonce kicked it off with a performance that included the classic "Crazy in Love" but sadly no Jay-Z cameo. Carson Daly returned for the show, as did Diddy, who made the most appearances of any celebrity. Justin stopped by to make fun of his frosted tips while Kid Rock smoked his cigar all throughout his performance. Of course, the streets were crowded with one last group of screaming fans that got to watch Fall Out Boy (without Pete Wentz) perform to help complete the show. Even Jesse Camp stopped by with Wanna Be a VJ runner up David Holmes. After a little more than ten years on the air, they counted down its most crucial videos of its history ending with Britney's ". . .Baby One More Time" at No. 1. It was a fitting way to finish off as we all say one more goodbye to TRL.

Fresh Faces and Performances Keep It Hot at BET Awards
While the red carpet was sunny and colorful in LA last night, the real fun was reserved for the Shrine Auditorium stage at the BET Awards. Some of the best performances of the night were from our young familiar faces like Chris Brown and Rihanna as well as some old favorites like Alicia Keys alongside En Vogue and TLC (minus Left Eye). How cute was it seeing Chris/Rihanna singing along with each other's performances from the audience? Love it. Kanye has said that he's done having tantrums over award shows (though that does not go for everything), but luckily last night he didn't have to walking away with two statues — check out all the winners here. Along with lots of Obama love, Fergie helped close out the show with Nelly her fellow pa-pa-pa-pa-party person before hitting what I'm sure was the real fun at all the after show soirées.

It's Gettin' Hot in The Office!
It really is all about the soundtrack. Our friends at The Office don't often have a chance to get their freak on. Throw a little Nelly in, though, and the corporate starch softens up a bit . . .
MTV Shares Awards Show Weekend With Japan
While MTV made the shift to movies here in the US, it was still all about the music at the Video Music Awards over in Japan. Mariah looked more comfortable with a microphone in her hand than her baseball from last week, while Fergie and Ne-Yo took the stage together and went home with trophies for Best Female and Male Video, respectively. While Paris didn't have much to contribute beyond posing on the red carpets with her new BFFs, we have to admit that we're impressed with her globetrotting stamina, making it to both award shows in just two days.

Casual Rules on the Kids' Choice Awards Orange Carpet
Nickelodeon hosted the 2008 Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night, and similar to last year, the big stars — like Will Smith — brought their families for a stroll down the orange carpet. Wannabe Award winner Cameron Diaz, America Ferrera and Ashlee Simpson were just a few of the ladies who got girlie in dresses, while Rihanna and Abigail Breslin went more casual in jeans. Check out Fab's coverage of the ladies' looks, as well as their Love it or Hate it polls. Even Project Runway's Christian Siriano was on hand to watch the fashion parade. Not quite the Oscars red carpet, but it looked like everyone dressed for a fun — or slimy — time.

Diddy Has a Hand in Ripping the Runway
The Hip Hop and fashion worlds collided last night at BET's Rip the Runway 2008 in NYC. Nelly played host, Snoop Dogg took the stage to perform, and Diddy acted as executive producer for the event, which airs on March 4. Diddy has been really branching out from his musical career lately, and he revealed to David Letterman that he's looking to get into more movies after making A Raisin in the Sun. In an episode that will air tonight, Diddy said, "Yeah, leading man kind of stuff; you know, jumping off of buildings," also mentioning that he wants to do scenes involving "making love to beautiful women." Sounds like Diddy has high hopes for his future leading man status.

Hot or Not? It's Getting Folk In Herre
Nelly's "Hot In Herre" may be one of the most obnoxious songs to ever go mainstream, but the tune is unstoppable. It's so six years ago, but I bet you'll hear the song on the dance floor while rockin' in the new year this evening. For those of you who prefer a slower groove, check out this folksy cover by Jenny Owen Youngs. Girlfriend's got a kickin' voice, a couple of break dancing penguins, and a little igloo debauchery up in herre. I'm a fan, but let me know what you think. Is it hot?
BET Hip Hop Awards Go On, Despite TI's Arrest
Saturday night's BET Hip Hop Awards got off to a dramatic start when TI was arrested only hours before he was supposed to perform on stage. He was nabbed by the feds blocks away from the awards where he was supposedly picking up illegal machine guns and silencers he had been brokering a deal to purchase through his bodyguards. Yikes. Despite the trouble, TI, who was nominated for nine awards, picked up two statues. Also going home with two (and considering he could show, he actually was there to accept) was Mr. Kanye West. In nontypical fashion, after winning Best Hip Hop Video he tried to pass it off to UGK's "International Players," featuring OutKast. Um, suuuure you actually want to give that award to someone else, Kanye. Totally, though I do appreciate his sense of humor.
