The annual amfAR benefit brought out well-dressed celebs like Michelle Williams, Jennifer Lopez, and James Franco to pose on the red carpet, and the star-studded fun continued inside. J Lo took the stage in her pink Cavalli creation to entertain the crowd with Marc Anthony by her side, with Michelle Williams later stepping in front of the microphone and showing off her short dress. Ryan Gosling was the main attraction, though, as he auctioned off a kiss to a lucky lady, who was dressed as a man.

Kate Beckinsale wore Armani and a sweeping updo as she addressed the audience, along with Marion Cotillard and Benicio Del Toro. Emily Blunt, whose fiance, John Krasinski, is back in NY working on Something Borrowed, instead cuddled up to irresistible Ryan. The event's organizer Sharon Stone wasn't able to attend and instead delivered a video message, but her absence didn't get in the way of the night being a success and raising $6.7 million for AIDS charities.

Vanessa Paradis played host at last night's special dinner celebrating Chanel's new Rouge Coco de Chanel lipsticks. The attendees are gearing up for Fashion Week, which starts tomorrow, but Vanessa and Kate had love on the mind before Valentine's Day. Vanessa made a rare comment on her longtime love, Johnny Depp, saying, "I like him very much in all terms and every sense of the way . . . He makes me happy. We are many things — we are together and, in a way, one person."

Kate, meanwhile, was all about her own guy, Alexander Skarsgard, despite arriving at the bash with socialite and Born Rich director Jamie Johnson. "We are very good friends," she said of Alex. "He's a wonderful, wonderful man. I adore him." The stylish crowd moved on after their meal to the club Good Units for Interview magazine's 40th anniversary party, where Kate was spotted letting loose with Vogue writer Derek Blasberg as Chloe Sevigny, Mary-Kate Olsen, and her boyfriend Nate Lowman danced nearby.

Johnny Depp wasn't at yesterday's Grammys, but he was hard at work on a musical project of his own in LA. He joined Keith Richards and Patti Smith to work on a documentary about the legendary Rolling Stones star, with Vanessa Paradis even bringing their kids Lily-Rose and Jack along to check out the scene. Johnny has another rock and roll project in the works, as he's set to team up with singers Nick Cave and Shane MacGowan to record a charity single benefitting Haiti. Johnny loves hitting the stage with his friends, and it sounds like Ozzy Osbourne has another project in mind for Johnny to combine rocking out and acting.

Tim Burton was the man of the hour at the MoMA exhibit paying tribute to his amazing work and imagination in NYC yesterday. He had Helena Bonham Carter on one arm and his good friend Johnny Depp on the other as stars came out to celebrate Tim. With fans already excited for Alice in Wonderland, Tim's art lined the walls at the museum. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were among the attendees as was Ashley Greene who looked refreshed in an LBD despite a long week of New Moon promotion including Monday's big premiere. She looked amazing as usual — check out how to get her makeup look here — and made us smile on the red carpet with her adorable personality. Overall, Tim's big night at the MoMA lived up to his eccentric personality and amazing talent with an exhibit that his fans can now enjoy.

>> Irina Lazareanu has been working with Sean Lennon on her album, Some Place Along the Way, since 2006, but it looks like 2008 is the year we'll finally get to have a listen to the final product. 

Tuesday night, the musician-cum-model said the album, which is produced by Patti Smith and features some songs by Irina's close friend/maybe boyfriend Pete Doherty, is due out in September: "All we need to do is get Sean [Lennon] and Patti in the same town and make sure Pete's not in prison and we can get rolling." 

As for potential stagewear, Balenciaga is her staple, "but I find brands like Ann Demeulemeester and Martin Margiela also look fabulous on stage."
