Vote: Stars Try Out Sideswept Styles

Cropped styles may be having a moment in Hollywood, but this week, stars were going crazy for long, cascading waves that were swept to the side.

Cropped styles may be having a moment in Hollywood, but this week, stars were going crazy for long, cascading waves that were swept to the side. At a party celebrating her River Island collection, Rihanna wore her undercut style with loose curls slung over her right shoulder. Abigail Breslin showed just how grown-up her style is with vintage-inspired waves paired with red lipstick. And Petra Nemcova slicked the sides of her hair down while allowing her length to swing free. These are three different ladies with three different takes on the look, but whose did you prefer?

It was a memorable evening in LA last night for The Impossible stars Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts as the pair stepped out for their official West Coast premiere. Ewan, dressed in Balenciaga, was joined on the carpet by his wife, Eve Mavrakis, while Naomi hit the event solo in a beautiful Zac Posen gown and Jimmy Choo stilettos. Naomi and Ewan posed for photos with costar Tom Holland, who plays their son, as well as Maria Belon, the 2004 tsunami survivor whose family inspired the film. Fellow tsunami victim Petra Nemcova also made it out to the event, in a beautiful strapless coral gown, to show her support.

Ewan and Naomi chatted with us about their experience making the film and the intense emotions they went through during production — stay tuned for more from our exclusive interviews! Naomi talked about getting to know Maria as well as the upcoming award season. Naomi's performance in The Impossible is already earning praise; she's among the best actress nominees announced earlier today during the Critics' Choice nominations.

Naomi Watts and Petra Nemcova Channel Old Hollywood — Who Did It Best?

The standout gowns at last night's The Impossible premiere in LA could be summed up in three words: Old Hollywood glamour.

The standout gowns at last night's The Impossible premiere in LA could be summed up in three words: Old Hollywood glamour. Naomi Watts channeled a modern-day Veronica Lake in a purple petal-printed Zac Posen bias-cut gown, which, in true bombshell form, hugged every curve to perfection. Her retro up-do, costume-inspired drop earrings, and daring open-back cutout (believe us on this one) put the final touches on her elegantly styled old-school ensemble. As for her chic challenger? Petra Nemcova stepped out in a coral-hued strapless Notte by Marchesa number that evoked more of a Rita Hayworth kind of sex appeal than Naomi's less-is-more approach. To complete her look, she wore diamond earrings and crystal-encrusted sandals and carried a bronze satin clutch. With two stunning gowns at the helm and a similar brand of siren glamour at play, it's time for you to decide who gets the best-dressed honors.

Calendar Girls: Beautiful Humanitarians Celebrate Pirelli 2013

The Hotel Palace Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro was filled with a gorgeous crowd ready to fete 2013's Pirelli Calendar.

The Hotel Palace Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro was filled with a gorgeous crowd ready to fete 2013's Pirelli Calendar.

Actors Owen Wilson, Stephen Dorff, and Sophia Loren joined this year's photographer Steve McCurry and calendar girls Liya Kebede, Petra Nemcova, Elisa Sednaoui, and Hanaa Ben Abdesslem to celebrate the calendar's launch with a press conference and gala. At the gala, acrobats hung from the ceiling and did gymnastic stunts above the dining tables. After noting that journalists at the event asked lots of questions about the environment and foreign politics, Summer Rayne Oakes characterized the blue and white lighting scheme as "trippy."

Petra Nemcova said the real sparkle came from the other women in the calendar, like Isabeli Fontana and Kyleigh Kuhn. "They bring the light to so many lives!" Nemcova said.

A look at the unveiling of the calendar here in the gallery.

It's Here: The 2013 Pirelli Calendar

The biggest difference in the 2013 Pirelli Calendar is that its subjects aren't nude.
Pirelli Calendar 2013 | All Pictures & Behind the Scenes

The biggest difference in the 2013 Pirelli Calendar is that its subjects aren't nude. Photojournalist Steve McCurry shot this year's calendar in Rio de Janeiro and he said he wanted to "portray women who are sexy without being naked."

Those women include Adriana Lima — the first visibly pregnant woman to be depicted in the calendar — and fellow models Isabeli Fontana, at left, Liya Kebede, Karlie Kloss, Petra Nemcova, Hanaa Ben Abdesselem, Elisa Sednaoui, Kyleigh Kuhn, and Summer Rayne Oakes. Brazilian actress Sonia Braga and singer Marisa Monte will also appear in the calendar.

All of McCurry's subjects support charitable foundations, NGOs, and other humanitarian projects. Kloss, for example, promotes FEED with her Perfect 10 Cookies, and Kuhn is the founder of Twenty Four Suns, a company that supports artisans in Afghanistan. Nemcova auctioned off a trip to Brazil with tickets to the calendar's Nov. 27 gala there and donated the proceeds to the Happy Hearts Fund.

A look at the first images from what McCurry has called the "calendar of the soul" — plus a behind-the-scenes look at how it was made — right here in the gallery.

Stuart Weitzman's new short film Walking After Midnight packs a lot of cool. It stars supermodel Petra Nemcova, was directed by James Franco, and was styled by Anya Ziourova — one of the most talented fashion editors working today.

Ziourova told us that styling this video was "a piece of delicious cake," even if it was a minor challenge to create outfits that look good in a variety of settings. "You have to make sure that the clothes sit well from every angle, which isn't always the case in print," she said.

As for Franco, he mostly sat back and let Ziourova do her job. "James didn't get involved much," she said. "He trusted letting me create looks."

And from the way this video turned out, we'd say that was a good decision. Take a look at the episode from the film below and click through the gallery to see exclusive behind-the-scenes shots from the production. The first two vignettes are on Weitzman's Facebook page, and the fourth video will premiere online next Wednesday.
