Prince Harry was back in his patriotic gear to watch men's diving at the Aquatics Centre in London yesterday. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene were also in attendance. Harry's been popping up at multiple events during the Olympics, including the equestrian competition, which his cousin Zara Phillips participated in. He's just one of many royals making the rounds during the Games, since Prince William and Kate Middleton have been out and about as well. William checked out soccer with David Beckham over the weekend, gymnastics with Harry, and today tennis with Kate. We're looking at all the pictures from the Olympics throughout the Games and also checking out behind-the-scenes snaps from celebrities and athletes, so keep coming back for the latest.
Four months ago today, Grace Kelly's son Prince Albert II of Monaco married Charlene Wittstock, an Olympic swimmer, in an extravagant, fireworks-topped royal wedding. But ahead of their big day there were some rumors swirling that princess-to-be Charlene was having doubts about the marriage, with the press even dubbing her the "runaway bride." The newlyweds were out and about in New York last night and stopped by the Today show this morning to address the rumors, with Charlene saying she found them "hilarious" and that they definitely were not true. Prince Albert said the rumors — which were extremely detailed for being tabloid fodder — stemmed from jealousy, but I don't know if I'm buying that. I'd be more likely to believe Charlene's reasoning that the more sensational stories sell more magazines.
As is the case with the other royal newlyweds, Prince William and Kate Middleton, it's all about the babies now — and the pressure is on for a royal heir (a legitimate royal heir, that is, since Albert already has two illegitimate children). And in the same way the UK changed its succession law to allow girls to be heirs to the throne, Monaco has also adjusted its constitution to allow succession through the female family line. So if Charlene and Albert have a girl, she'll be in line to the throne.
Princess Charlene of Monaco was pretty in pink at the Red Cross Gala Ball today, one of the world's most famous (and pricey) balls. Joined by Prince Albert II, the royal pair follow in the footsteps of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco when they attended the same star-studded gala in 1958. The annual event was founded in 1948 and is held at Monaco Sporting Club. Although this isn't Charlene and Albert's first time attending the ball together, it is the first time they've attended as husband and wife. See more photos of the prince and princess of Monaco now.
The Prince and Princess of Monaco, who wore a Roberto Cavalli dress, made an appearance near home at the Oceanographic Museum yesterday to check out a new exhibit, which is devoted to their wedding. "The Story of the Prince's Wedding" features Charlene Wittstock's Giorgio Armani gown, the white uniform that Prince Albert wore, place settings from their reception, and other items from the July event. Charlene and Prince Albert have faced some controversy since their nuptials, with rumors that they spent their honeymoon in separate hotels. Prince Albert and Charlene defended their marriage recently and struck back at all the press coverage. They seemed to be in good spirits as they walked through the museum and posed in front of a large picture of themselves as bride and groom. Theirs isn't the only royal wedding on display since items from Kate Middleton and Prince William's nuptials are currently being shown at Buckingham Palace in London. Kate Middleton and the Queen toured the Summer exhibit and took a look at Kate's gorgeous gown as well as the heels she wore when she wed Prince William.
Charlene Wittstock, who is now the princess of Monaco, wore an Armani gown as she walked down the aisle at the Prince's Palace in Monaco today. Charlene and Prince Albert were married in a civil ceremony yesterday, and they celebrated their newlywed status with a concert that evening. Today marked their religious ceremony, which was attended by A-list guests, including Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani, Karolina Kurkova, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and Naomi Campbell. Naomi arrived with longtime boyfriend, Vlad Doronin, fresh from pal Kate Moss's nuptials that got started on Friday as well. Charlene and Prince Albert will continue the festivities tonight with a lavish dinner for 450 guests to be prepared by Chef Alain Ducasse.
Eric and Rebecca rubbed shoulders with Prince Albert II in the courtyard of the Monaco Palace while attending the Monte Carlo Television Festival. It looks like Eric got some McSteamy attention of his own as well! With all the recent Grey's news Eric gave his two cents on Isaiah Washington getting fired from Grey's. He told Extra, “It’s sad and unfortunate and whoever had to do it must have had a very difficult decision to make." Obviously he feels pretty sympathetic for his former costar. Eric also mentioned that he might be showing up on Private Practice next season! We're sure he'll steam up that show too!
