Best of 2012

Which Guy Do You Want to See More of in 2013?

2012 was a breakout year for so many male stars.

2012 was a breakout year for so many male stars. There were plenty of men who made their mark on TV, including Emmy winners Damian Lewis and Idris Elba and Revenge star Josh Bowman. Several of the guys we already love have a major 2013 ahead as well, like Anthony Mackie, who will appear in Gangster Squad, The Avengers 2, and Runner, Runner. We can't forget some of our favorite Brits, either, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Sam Riley, and Sam Claflin.

We're two days into 2013 and optimistic about the twelve months ahead. With so many talented men on the scene, we want to know — which of these guys are you most excited to see more of in the year ahead?

Kristen Stewart teamed up with Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst, and Sam Riley at the NYC premiere of On the Road last night. Kristen chose another sheer look, this time a blue Erdem outfit, while Kirsten went neutral in Christian Dior. The costars posed for photos on their way into the screening, which was just the latest in a string of press events for the film. Kristen, Garrett, and Kirsten met up Wednesday for a special screening after Kristen and Garrett returned from a promotional trip to the West Coast. It's all leading up to the movie's limited release on Dec. 21.

Tom Sturridge Joins His Leading Men — Not Ladies — For On the Road's Premiere

Tom Sturridge left baby Marlowe at home this evening to attend the London premiere of his new movie, On the Road.

Tom Sturridge left baby Marlowe at home this evening to attend the London premiere of his new movie, On the Road. His leading ladies, Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst, weren't able to attend, but he did have the company of his fellow actors Sam Riley and Danny Morgan. Kristen had been scheduled to attend, but decided to skip in the wake of her recent personal issues. Tom, though, has been in London and didn't have to travel far for the screening at London's Somerset House. Tom and his fiancée Sienna Miller's baby, Marlowe, has been their center of attention for the last month, since the little one's July birth. They've been spotted frequently taking Marlowe out to get her first glimpses of their neighborhood. Sam, who actually has the biggest part in the movie, isn't yet a dad in real life. However, he has been married to his former costar in Control, Alexandra Maria Lara, since 2009.

Kristen Stewart Shares a Sexy Smile For On the Road

Kristen Stewart joins her On the Road costars Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley for a photo spread inside Marie Claire's September issue, on newsstands Aug. 17. Miley Cyrus posed for the cover, while Kristen and the boys teamed up for a few key promotional shots. The images were taken in May during the Cannes Film Festival, where Kristen was promoting her Jack Kerouac adaption and boyfriend Robert Pattinson was celebrating the Cosmopolis world premiere, which she also attended. Since then, things have taken a dramatic turn for the couple. Last month photos of Kristen cheating with Rupert Sanders shocked fans, and she's remained in hiding ever since. As for Robert, he temporarily moved out of their shared residence and relocated to Reese Witherspoon's Ojai estate; however, next week he'll make his first public appearance since news of the scandal when he visits The Daily Show With Jon Stewart on Monday.

Kristen, Kirsten, Garrett, and Their On the Road Gang Hit the Grand Palais at Cannes

Kristen Stewart hit the red carpet for her Cannes premiere of On the Road this evening.

Kristen Stewart hit the red carpet for her Cannes premiere of On the Road this evening. She had the company of costars Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Tom Sturridge, and Kirsten Dunst. Kirsten wore pink Dior, and Kristen was in Balenciaga. The gang spent the whole day together, having attended a press conference and photocall earlier. The movie debuted at the film festival this morning — check out our movie review of On the Road. The picture is based on the classic 1957 Jack Kerouac novel, and in it Kristen plays Marylou, the object of affection for the two main characters, played by Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund. It was a big risk for Kristen, who has actually been attached to the project since producers saw her in 2007's Into the Wild, because it involves more nudity than her Twilight movies.

At today's press conference, Kristen spoke about her character. She said, "I love Marylou. The character is so vivid, she jumps right off the page and slaps you in the face . . . If I had to choose one character who really, truly embodied the spirit of this book, it was her. She really is this amazing link between the two boys. It's a grand statement to make, but it might not have happened without her."

Tom Sturridge didn't bring along his pregnant partner Sienna Miller, but there were plenty of other celeb couples in attendance. Robert Pattinson turned up to support Kristen ahead of his own Cosmopolis debuting at Cannes this weekend. Sam Riley had wife Alexandra Maria Lara on his arm, and costars Garrett Hedlund and Kirsten Dunst were able to mix romance and work on the carpet.

Kristen Stewart and her On the Road cast mates gathered this morning for a photocall at the Cannes Film Festival. Director Walter Salles was also on hand.Their movie just screened at the Grand Palais — make sure to check out our On the Road review.

Kristen's in France with the picture and her costars just ahead of her boyfriend Robert Pattinson's Cannes debut. He'll hit the Croisette himself with his David Cronenberg-directed Cosmopolis before the festival wraps up this weekend. Kristen and Robert aren't the only couple we're hoping to see making the rounds. Tom may have brought along his pregnant partner Sienna Miller, and Sam makes an adorable pair with his German actress wife, Alexandra Maria Lara. Kirsten was already hanging out with her boyfriend — she's dating costar Garrett.

Cannes Minireview: On the Road

Required reading for teenagers in America, Jack Kerouac's On the Road is now a big-screen film, and the finished product just debuted at Cannes.

Required reading for teenagers in America, Jack Kerouac's On the Road is now a big-screen film, and the finished product just debuted at Cannes. It's one of the most anticipated movies to be screened at the Grand Palais — read on to see what we thought.

  • Who's behind it? Walter Salles, of The Motorcycle Diaries, was tasked with directing the picture, which is of course based on the Kerouac classic. Salles has a long list of stars — at one point, I wondered who isn't in this movie. Sam Riley, who had a star-making role in 2007's Control, plays the lead role of Sal Paradise, and Garrett Hedlund is his pal Dean Moriarty. Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst have smaller parts as Dean's love interests, and Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen, Tom Sturridge, Steve Buscemi, Elisabeth Moss, and many more have other cameos. The production has been in the works for decades. Francis Ford Coppola secured the movie rights back in 1980.
  • What's it about? It's the beat generation in the USA during the 1940s, but Sal Paradise can't seem to get past his writer's block. Sal takes up with a group of friends who love drinking, talking, dancing, and moving. Dean Moriarty enters the picture and offers adventure. He likes to move around the country, not caring where the money comes from or which hearts he breaks. Sal's a devoted friend to Dean, and they travel the country meeting up with friends, family, strangers, and going wherever the road takes them.

First Look: Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund in On the Road!

Kristen Stewart has been busy filming Breaking Dawn and contemplating a new role as Snow White, but she's got another upcoming film already under her belt.

Kristen Stewart has been busy filming Breaking Dawn and contemplating a new role as Snow White, but she's got another upcoming film already under her belt. Here's your first look at Stewart alongside rising star Garett Hedlund in the upcoming big screen adaption of Jack Kerouac's iconic novel On the Road. It's just a small taste, but I'm already loving the free-spirited beatnik vibe and the costumes. (Plus, who doesn't love a dance scene?) What say you?

Ryan Phillippe and Eva Green showed off their serious faces on the red carpet at the premiere of Franklyn at the London Film Festival today. While Eva didn't have a problem being Ryan's arm candy, his girlfriend Abbie Cornish was back in the states gushing about him. At the Jay-Z/DJ AM concert, Abbie said, "Ryan Phillippe is a gorgeous guy and I love him." Sounds like Abbie's pretty smitten with her man, and we can't deny that Ryan's not too bad to look at.
