Jennifer Garner held onto her son, Samuel, as she ran errands around LA yesterday. Samuel may be the youngest Garner-Affleck child, but he recently reached an exciting milestone — Samuel turned 1 on Wednesday! His birthday was just the latest celebration for the family, who recently wrapped up an exciting award season. Ben Affleck was honored many times over for Argo, and the winning culminated on Sunday at the Oscars, where he picked up the best picture statue. Ben thanked his family in his speech and partied into the night at Vanity Fair's bash with Jennifer. He also marked the end of his busy two months by shaving his beard, which he had been superstitiously growing out. Ben revealed his beardless face yesterday, when he stepped out for the TED conference in Long Beach, and again this morning in LA, where he brought Seraphina to breakfast.

Jennifer Garner gave her baby boy Samuel Affleck a lift as she headed to a restaurant in Brentwood today for lunch. Her middle child, Seraphina, was also along for the outing, holding hands with the nanny. Jennifer kept things casual after her glamorous weekend at the Oscars. Jennifer walked the Oscars red carpet in a custom-made purple Gucci gown, and celebrated as her husband, Ben Affleck, won the best director Oscar for Argo. The couple made their way to Vanity Fair's annual afterparty and another soiree at Craig's restaurant. The late-night fun also included some grooming, as Jennifer brought out a pair of clippers and Ben shaved his beard with the encouragement of George Clooney. Jennifer and the kids reportedly weren't fans of Ben's beard — so they can celebrate his new look, along with baby Sam's first birthday, tomorrow!

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner brought their three kids to a karate class in LA yesterday. Seraphina and Violet were in their uniforms to participate in the session, though of course, baby Samuel was just there to watch. Ben carried his son inside, sheltering the little one's head from the rain. Afterward, Seraphina walked out back to the car happily clutching a new certificate.

Ben was able to have family time in the afternoon before he headed off to Santa Barbara, where he picked up a big award. Ben received a modern master tribute from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and it was actually his best friend Matt Damon who handed off the statue.

The Garner-Affleck family celebrated a year full of major milestones, both personal and professional. Not only did Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck welcome their third child, Samuel Affleck, but also, Ben received major accolades for his third directorial project, Argo, and Jen starred in The Odd Life of Timothy Green and Butter.

The family also did its share of jet-setting. Jennifer, Samuel, Violet, and Seraphina met up with Ben over the Summer as he shot a new film in Puerto Rico, making a family vacation of the visit and hitting the beach. Jen also joined Ben for many of his Argo premieres and events. The pair even took advantage of the movie's promotional stop in Paris to go on romantic dates and shop in the City of Light. Jennifer Garner had her son, Samuel Affleck, on her hip today as she did some shopping in her Brentwood neighborhood of LA. Jen and Samuel may have been wrapping up some holiday gift shopping during their outing; she was seen leaving JennyBec's children's store with an oversize shopping bag in hand. It was the second time we've seen the actress and mom browsing the racks at different boutiques in so many days. Yesterday, she was spotted at Barney's in Beverly Hills.

Jennifer is back home from her latest stint on the set of The Dallas Buyers Club in New Orleans, and this morning, Ben Affleck was in Washington DC to testify on behalf of more US engagement in the Congo. Despite their many work and philanthropic commitments, the Garner-Afflecks have also clocked lots of time at home with their three children this month as they prepare for a busy January. Award season kicks into high gear in early 2013, and Ben's film Argo earned five Golden Globe nominations last week, including a nod for Ben as best director, boding well for the film's Oscar chances.

Jennifer Garner grabbed coffee with her youngest, Samuel, today in New Orleans while Ben Affleck carried Seraphina to breakfast at the Brentwood County Mart at home in LA. Ben was also spotted taking his German Shepherd for a walk around the area yesterday. Ben has been on both dog and dad duty recently as Jen splits her time between LA and New Orleans, where she is currently filming The Dallas Buyer's Club with Matthew McConaughey. She has had the company of their youngest, Samuel, on set though. Yesterday, Jen took Sam on a walk around NOLA, while Ben stuck to his morning routine with Seraphina back at home.

Ben has also been making news for his latest movie, Focus. Yesterday, Kristen Stewart confirmed that she has signed on as his costar for the highly anticipated new comedy.

This isn't Samuel's first visit to his mom's work in Louisiana. Samuel, Seraphina, and Violet all spent Thanksgiving in New Orleans while Jennifer filmed her new movie. As Jen wheeled adorable Samuel to a New Orleans coffee shop, her husband, Ben Affleck, was spotted doing the exact same thing with the couple's youngest daughter, Seraphina, in Brentwood earlier today.

Jennifer Garner kicked off the week with a breakfast stop at the Brentwood Country Mart alongside her son, Samuel, daughter Seraphina, and mother-in-law, Chris Affleck. Jen kept her little ones warm, with Sera in a puffy jacket and Samuel in a fuzzy cap. The Garner-Affleck family had a fun-filled weekend celebrating Violet Affleck's seventh birthday at a Build-a-Bear workshop in LA. Both Jen and Ben were on hand to dote on their firstborn, who left the party with friends and plenty of presents. Jen spent much of last month in New Orleans filming The Dallas Buyers Club, but she's currently enjoying some time at home with her kids and Ben before the holidays.

Her girls, Seraphina and Violet, also spent time in NOLA for the Thanksgiving holiday but recently returned home. Before Sera and Vi took off, Jen took them on a carousel ride in NOLA. While Jen and Sam hang in New Orleans, Ben is spending quality time with his girls. Yesterday, Ben, his mother, Chris, and the girls spent an afternoon out and about in LA together. He is currently celebrating with family after recently being listed among Entertainment Weekly's entertainers of the year.
