Seth Meyers Will Officially Host Late Night — Love It or Leave It?
Seth Meyers had already been rumored to be next in line for the Late Night throne, and over the weekend, it was officially confirmed. Meyers will be replacing host Jimmy Fallon once Fallon takes over The Tonight Show in February 2014. Both veterans of Saturday Night Live, Meyers and Fallon have a similar background, having both served as anchors of the show's "news" segment, Weekend Update.
I've been a fan of Meyers for a while, and I think it's a terrific move on NBC's part. He's pretty well-known, and he's been SNL's head writer for eight seasons, meaning he already knows how to write for late-night television. Do you think it's a brilliant idea, or were you hoping for someone else?

Shia LaBeouf and Jessica Chastain Team Up to Show Off Lawless in NYC
Shia LaBeouf and his Lawless leading lady, Jessica Chastain, teamed up for a Cinema Society screening of their film at NYC's Paley Center for Media. The screening was also sponsored by YSL Beaute, and Jessica was fittingly decked out in a YSL dress with Tom Binns jewelry. She kept up her brand loyalty, wearing a black YSL outfit. In addition to Shia and Jessica, other stars checked out the premiere. Seth Meyers and Chloe Sevigny swung by, as did Patti Smith, Patricia Clarkson, and Melissa Leo. Later on, Shia and Jessica toasted their action movie, which is out Aug. 29, with an afterparty at Gallow Green at the McKittrick Hotel.
We caught a moment with both stars on the red carpet, and they spoke about how they stuck close to the film's Prohibition-era theme by drinking moonshine after the cameras stopped rolling. Shia viewed drinking as a good bonding experience with the cast, but Jessica didn't really take to it. She told us, "We would drink moonshine — I didn't drink so much moonshine. I like liquor that's sweet, and the moonshine we had down there wasn't so sweet!" Catch more from our interviews with both Shia and Jessica later today on PopSugar Rush.
SNL's Really!?! With Seth and Amy Takes on Birth Control Debate
Just when we thought she couldn't get any cooler, one of our favorite funny ladies Amy Poehler stopped by Saturday Night Live last night and gave a great rant with Seth Meyers on the birth control debate via Really!?! With Seth and Amy. The pair rightly called out congressman Darrell Issa for his all-male panel on Obama's birth control mandate, Foster Freeze for his antiquated birth control idea (keep your legs closed), and Mike Huckabee's anti-birth-control line: "We're all Catholic now." To that last argument, Amy pointed out that the majority of Catholic women use contraception, saying, "You know who's not all Catholic now? All Catholics now." Thanks, Seth and Amy, for waking people up to the ridiculousness going on right now in regards to women's reproductive rights; let's hope it helps! Check out the clip now, and weigh in below.
Ashley Olsen Reunites With Bob Saget For a Special Charity Evening
Ashley Olsen showed support for her former Full House costar, Bob Saget, at the annual Cool Comedy — Hot Cuisine for Scleroderma Research Foundation event in NYC last night. Bob, who lost his sister to the disease, hosted the charity evening, which featured performances from comedians Seth Meyers, Colin Quinn, and Jeff Ross. Mary-Kate wasn't on hand for the fundraiser this year, but she and Ashley did their part to help out by donating tickets to a The Row fashion show for the live auction. Also up for grabs was the chance to see the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which is being taped tomorrow. We'll be at the annual runway extravaganza, though the full sexy soiree won't air until the end of the month.
Jessica Biel Rocks a Baby Bump on Set With Seth Meyers
Jessica Biel wore a fake baby bump on the set of her new movie What to Expect When You're Expecting last night in NYC. She's playing a mom to be with a preference for comfortable clothes as her sweats and sneakers combo suggested. The location in the Big Apple allowed Jessica to reunite with Justin Timberlake recently. The couple were seen on their latest outing together walking around the city yesterday afternoon. Their stroll came after vacations in Martha's Vineyard, the Hamptons, and Toronto, where she was last hard at work on the Total Recall remake. Justin, meanwhile, will be doing press in the run-up to In Time hitting theaters. Last week, he issued a release denying that he was a victim of the hacking scandal that resulted in the publication of Scarlett Johansson's nude photos.
