Sigourney Weaver Talks Playing a Woman Reminiscent of Hillary Clinton

Sigourney Weaver is hoping women will grab a glass of wine, put up their feet, and enjoy her new show, Political Animals, each Sunday on USA.

Sigourney Weaver is hoping women will grab a glass of wine, put up their feet, and enjoy her new show, Political Animals, each Sunday on USA. The actress plays Elaine Barrish, a former first lady who stood by her cheating husband before unsuccessfully running for president herself. Sound familiar? The plot mirrors Hillary Clinton's story, except that Sigourney Weaver's character divorces her husband before eventually becoming secretary of state. On The Daily Show last night, Sigourney explained that Elaine is not a fictional portrayal of Hillary Clinton; instead, the show is inspired by a range of American "dynasties," including the Kennedys. Watch her talk about playing a passionate woman with Jon Stewart now.

Red Lights Trailer: Cillian Murphy Takes on Robert De Niro's Creepy Supernatural Powers

Handsome Inception star Cillian Murphy may be taking on a less sinister role in Red Lights, but the trailer for the film looks like an equally otherworldly experience.

Handsome Inception star Cillian Murphy may be taking on a less sinister role in Red Lights, but the trailer for the film looks like an equally otherworldly experience. The film premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and we didn't just take notice because it was also picked up by a distributor — it's also the second effort from Rodrigo Cortés, the director of the chilling Ryan Reynolds flick Buried. In Red Lights, physicist Tom Buckley (Murphy) is assisting Dr. Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver), a psychologist who investigates the supernatural and the people who claim they can channel it. After the world-renowned (and not to mention seriously creepy) psychic Simon Silver (Robert De Niro) steps back into the limelight after several years, Tom wants to investigate him.

As Tom attempts to uncover the truth about Silver's gift, he goes down a crazy, creepy sinkhole of the paranormal and his own paranoia. From De Niro's frightening mystical powers to Tom's unraveling, this movie looks crazily intense. Add the acting prowess of Weaver and Elizabeth Olsen, and it feels like a recipe for thriller success. To try to make sense of Red Lights and watch the trailer, just keep reading.

Taylor Lautner and his costar Lily Collins hit the black carpet last night to debut their action-thriller Abduction. The rumored real-life couple had the support of yet another Hollywood duo at the premiere — Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez! The teenage couple stepped out to check out Taylor and Lily's film, much to the thrill of the many fans waiting outside the theater. Abduction is out on Sept. 23 and marks Taylor's first shot at a true leading-man role. Last night, director John Singleton compared Abduction to the Bourne movies and said he hopes this is the first of several installments about Taylor's character Nathan Price. Whether or not Abduction finds future success as a franchise, Taylor has already made a name for himself with the Twilight series, and the first Breaking Dawn film will be his next project to hit theaters when it debuts on Nov. 18.

The 2010 Spike Scream Awards Celebrate Sexy Ladies and Smoking-Hot Guys

The ladies stayed neutral on the Spike Scream Awards red carpet in LA on Saturday night.

The ladies stayed neutral on the Spike Scream Awards red carpet in LA on Saturday night. Nina Dobrev arrived in black while Nikki Reed chose a fun one-shoulder Alice and Olivia LBD. Neve Campbell represented the Scream franchise in a short, sparkly number, and Anna Paquin stopped for a picture without her carpet companion Stephen Moyer to show off her sexy dress and Brian Atwood pumps. Presenter Blake Lively broke up all the black with a gray Lanvin gown on her way into the event. Check out our red carpet video for interviews with Nikki, Jackson Rathbone, Emma Roberts, and more!

Things were a little more colorful inside with Megan Fox presenting in a peach mini and Kristen Stewart wearing bright white as she accepted two awards for Twilight. It was the vampires from True Blood that ruled the stage, though, as Alexander Skarsgard beat out Stephen Moyer for Best Horror Actor and their HBO hit took home the Best TV Show win. His girlfriend, Kate Bosworth, supported him from backstage and celebrated with his costars. The gang from Vampire Diaries, Nina, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley, presented Anna Paquin with Best Horror Actress. Halle Berry turned up the heat in a gold sequin dress, and things got even hotter as Neve, David Arquette, Emma Roberts, and director Wes Craven introduced a scary clip from Scream 4. Ryan Reynolds rounded out the night's hottest men as his Green Lantern won Most Anticipated Movie. The show also paid tribute to past hits with a 25th anniversary celebration of Back to the Future and a funny look at Bill Murray reprising his role in Ghostbusters. The whole thing airs on Spike TV on Tuesday at 9 p.m.!

The leading ladies of You Again, Kristen Bell and Odette Yustman, walked the red carpet together last night in Hollywood.

The leading ladies of You Again, Kristen Bell and Odette Yustman, walked the red carpet together last night in Hollywood. Their respective fiancés, Dax Shepard and Dave Annable, were on hand for the big premiere, but both skipped the press line and let their ladies enjoy their time in the spotlight. Kristen, who looked stunning in a yellow Valentino dress and Brian Atwood pumps, spoke with us about her Twitter campaign to make Veronica Mars into a movie. She said there's been no word from the studio yet, but is holding out hope that it happens "before I'm 40." Kristen's on-screen mom, Jamie Lee Curtis, turned heads as she and Sigourney Weaver showed up in the same David Meister dress. Jamie Lee and Sigourney play enemies in the film, as do Kristen and Odette, who revealed to us that she'll appear on Brothers & Sisters this season as Dave's on-screen love interest. Betty White, though, was the evening's most celebrated guest — 100 of her biggest fans, sporting Betty masks, turned up to show their support. Check out today's PopSugar Rush for our video from the red carpet!
