Jude Law tried to cover up his bad new haircut with a fedora, but it really didn't help him regain his hotness promoting and premiering Sleuth in NYC yesterday. He kept the mismatched hat (I guess that's the thing these days) but changed his undershirt between taping the Late Show With David Letterman and attending the NYC premiere of his movie. Blech, so smarmy. Where is The Holiday Jude when you need him?

Okay - this is what I'm talking about, Jude Law! Hellooooo, handsome! I know, I know, he'll be gross and greasy tomorrow, but at last night's Toronto Film Festival Sleuth premiere he was at his very best. While last week was a rough one for Jude with his arrest for beating up a paparazzi, things are definitely looking up. It was just announced that he will be taking to the stage, playing Hamlet under the direction of his Sleuth co-star and famous former Prince of Denmark himself, Kenneth Branagh in London's West End. That's a lofty role, for sure, but at least it sounds like Jude is in the right hands. Plus, Hamlet is every actor's dream, right?

Jude was still showing off that aggressive tan alongside Michael Caine and director Kenneth Branagh at the Venice Film Festival premiere of Sleuth last night. Hey, at least he found himself some more appropriate footwear. The film is a remake of a 1972 thriller of the same name, and Jude had some self-deprecating words on acting in a new take on a well-loved classic. He said, "From my experience (Alfie) did not quite work out the way I had wanted it to, but you know part of the reason you embark on a creative journey sometimes is to fall flat ... and sometimes the fall leads to a triumph." Well, I think we can all agree that Alfie was pretty terrible, so pretty much anything will be an upgrade from that.

Jude Law got all spiffed up for his arrival at the Venice Film Festival today. Awww, look, he even put on his very best bronzer for the press conference and photo call for his movie Sleuth. And check out those kicks! Hey, non-red-carpet-appropriate 90s throwback! One thing he was missing, though, was his adorable baby blue tie new lady friend, former Miss Germany Susan Hoecke. I won't bother getting too attached to this one, because the perennial bachelor doesn't seem to stick with women for too long these days. Hey, at least she hotted him up for the moment. We all know how fleeting that can be with Mr. Law.
