Sofia Coppola Makes LA Dreamy in the Somewhere Trailer
It's so easy to be seduced by Sofia Coppola's filmmaking; her movies are always visually striking and emotionally charged in an understated way. Her latest, Somewhere, boasts both of those qualities and bears lots of similarity to Lost in Translation. This time, Stephen Dorff (yes, Stephen Dorff) and Elle Fanning play father and daughter bonding in Hollywood — specifically, the historic hotel Chateau Marmont.
The trailer is mostly dialogue-free, but the images presented give you plenty of story (he's a washed-up actor and disconnected father). Set it all to a slowed-down arrangement of The Strokes' "You Only Live Once," and it already has me convinced I'm going to love this one.

>> Maryna Linchuk to Appear in Sofia Coppola's Somewhere — Maryna Linchuk worked with Sofia Coppola on a Dior commercial two years ago, so it's no surprise to hear that along with Erin Wasson, she'll be making an appearance in Coppola's upcoming film Somewhere. Maryna was snapped on set by Sofia's niece Gia, left, and recently told Russian Tatler of the gig [Ed. note: translated from Russian]: "I appear in the movie for just a few minutes only to seduce the main character. Right now I’m a model. It’s difficult to combine several activities and do both of them professionally." [Fashin, No Respective, TFS]
Fab Flash: Louis Vuitton Donates to Earth Day
Luxury brand Louis Vuitton is showing off its green side on Earth Day by donating 15 percent of all US online sales to The Climate Project. "Over the past few years Louis Vuitton has voluntarily made efforts to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. In addition we are proud to be able to support The Climate Project in its inspiring quest to raise awareness of the climate crisis," said President of Louis Vuitton North America, Daniel Lalonde. This donation is part of the brand's continued relationship with The Climate Project, which started back in 2007 with the Core Values campaign featuring Francis and Sofia Coppola. Clap, clap LV!
