Box Office: Tyler Perry's at the Top All by Himself

Guess people still haven't tired of seeing Tyler Perry in a grandma frock!

Guess people still haven't tired of seeing Tyler Perry in a grandma frock! His latest film in the Madea saga, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, took the box office crown with an estimated $24 million this weekend. Second place went to 9, which raked in $10 million. Rounding out the rest of the top five were Inglourious Basterds, All About Steve, and the box office winner of the past two weeks, The Final Destination.

As for the other new films that debuted? Most of you said that you were going to pass on Sorority Row, and the masses seem to agree — the film came in at No. 6 with only $5.2 million. Whiteout starring Kate Beckinsale trailed at No. 7 with $5.1 million.

Were You Ever in a Sorority?

Sorority Row, starring Audrina Patridge and Rumer Willis, opened yesterday and the premise is as silly as you can imagine it would be: a sorority house prank gone wrong unleashes a serial killer who begins to stalk the the sorority sisters.

I hear more about sorority hazing rituals in the news than I do about serial killers on the loose in sorority houses. Other impressions are probably stereotypes: lots of female bonding, lots of backstabbing, wild parties and the occasional charity fundraiser. I was never in a sorority, so I'm curious: if you were in a sorority, did you enjoy it? And if you weren't in one, what do you think about them?

Watch, Pass, Tivo, or Rent: Sorority Row

Most of you said that you'd rather wait until Halloween for your scary film fix, but if you're one of those people who loves to get spooked, Sorority Row hits theaters tomorrow.

Most of you said that you'd rather wait until Halloween for your scary film fix, but if you're one of those people who loves to get spooked, Sorority Row hits theaters tomorrow. The premise: a sorority gets stalked by a serial killer after one of their pranks goes awry. The trailer looks over-the-top to say the least, and it stars Rumer Willis and reality-stars-turned-actresses Audrina Patridge and Jamie Chung. Normally I'd say nay, but then again, Audrina told Pop that it's "funny and scary" and sometimes a cheesy movie just hits the spot.

So will you spend your money on a ticket — even if the film is all entertainment and not much substance? Or will you wait this one out until you can watch it at home?

Demi Supports Rumer and Costars at Sorority Row Premiere

Rumer Willis had her mom Demi Moore by her side at Thursday night's LA premiere of Sorority Row.

Rumer Willis had her mom Demi Moore by her side at Thursday night's LA premiere of Sorority Row. Rumer was joined by her gaggle of young female costars like Audrina Patridge, Jamie Chung, Briana Evigan, and more. Audrina gushed about how much fun it was to make the gory movie, and fellow MTV reality-alum Jamie also loved getting into the horror genre. She was especially fond of how the women got to play the badasses in the film saying, "That was one of the main things that attracted me to the script — the strong female characters." Rumer was also excited to step outside her cool girl image, "I think it’s fun. I think as an actor it’s important to put your vanity in check. For me, at least, it’s too much pressure to have to be that [cool] girl. It’s more fun to play a quirky character. People connect to that more."

Audrina Says Sorority Row Is a "Dirty, Fun, Bloody Mess" and Chats About Her Upcoming New Show, Drama With Kristin

Audrina Patridge posed in denim at the Divine Rights of Denim booth during the MAGIC convention in Las Vegas yesterday. Between promoting Sorority Row and gearing up for the new season of The Hills, Audrina's been busy but she's also looking forward to starring in her own new show. It's no surprise that she's ready for the next phase in her career, especially after seeing the conflict between her and Kristin Cavallari in the upcoming season. We chatted with Audrina recently about the movie and what to expect from her in the future. Here are highlights:

  • On making Sorority Row vs. The Hills: On the movie set with all the girls — Jamie [Chung], Rumer [Willis] and everyone — we actually all clicked and we became friends because we actually wanted to be friends. Whereas on The Hills it’s kind of like you have to film with someone even if you don’t want to. I mean, The Hills is fun, but on the movie it was a totally different group of girls. It was effortless, I have to say. It was a dirty, fun, bloody mess.
  • On what to expect this season of The Hills: We’re almost done — we’re in the middle of filming the bonus episodes and will be wrapping, I believe, in November. They keep pushing it back. [This Season] I’ve been working more with artists on Epic records. There will be some new up and coming bands on the show. I’ve been filming a lot with Stephanie, and then of course I know everyone thinks there’s going to be a huge drama between [me and Kristin]. We’ll see what happens, we’re not done yet.
