Park City was bustling with celebrities this weekend as the 2011 Sundance Film Festival got underway. Buzz is on top of the latest news on what movies everyone is talking about and which are getting picked up, and we were hitting the party scene and scoping out what the stars were up to. The Bing bar was a huge hot spot with events from the My Idiot Brother bash to a late night Florence and the Machine concert, while the Variety lounge hosted their share of talent. Skullcandy and Express held nightly concerts at Harry O's, James Franco let loose at the Playboy event, and Adrian Grenier enjoyed a Chefdance meal. There was a lot going on, and it's just the first couple of days, even Oprah is here! Robert Redford of course continues to oversee the whole show, which has provided another excellent group of premieres — stay tuned here and on PopSugar Rush for all our coverage from the festival!

Shia Does the Late Show Solo, His Wall Street 2 Premiere Alongside Carey, and an Afterparty With Mary-Kate and Ashley
The stars of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps gathered in NYC last night for their big premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater. Real-life loves Carey Mulligan and Shia LaBeouf walked the red carpet separately, but they caused a stir and screams from fans when they joined Josh Brolin, Susan Sarandon, and Michael Douglas for a group photo. Michael, who is in the middle of a battle against cancer, bravely turned out with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones to support his latest movie with director Oliver Stone. Shia lingered at the press line well after the screening began, seeming happy to shoulder the promotional duties for both himself and Michael. We had a minute to speak with Shia about his adventures in investing his own money, and he also spoke about working with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on Transformers 3. He said, "She's great! This is going to be the best Transformers yet."
The gang moved on next to the afterparty at Cipriani on 42nd Street, where Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen broke from their fashion duties and preparations for their Paris show to toast Carey. Mary-Kate and Ashley also had some celebrating to do after finally selling the NYC apartment they've had on the market for five years. Shia had previously started the day by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange with Carey, then he went solo to keep the interviews coming at The Late Show. His chat with David Letterman airs on Friday, the same day their film hits theaters.

Donna Karan, Ashley Greene, Rachel Zoe, and Susan Sarandon Interviews at Fashion Week!
As expected the Donna Karan Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week runway show was star-studded, with many celebs in attendance and giving interviews. Donna Karan talked about materials she loves to use, Ashley Greene praised the strong femininity of her collection, Rachel Zoe expressed satisfaction with the designer’s use of neutral tones, while Susan Sarandon loves the fit, movement, and feel of the clothes.
Susan Sarandon Taking Her Love of Ping-Pong to TV
Susan Sarandon, Scarlett Johansson, and Edward Norton are just a few of the celebs who love playing ping-pong. But Susan — who already owns the ping-pong social club, SPiN — is taking her love for the sport even further. While at a two-day "World Champions" event at SPiN this weekend, the actress told People that she is developing a ping-pong reality show, which she calls an "episodic documentary."
"It won't be like the Jersey Shore . . . We're trying to invent something you haven’t seen before that follows a bunch of people in this crazy little subculture."
Susan said the show will follow the happenings at SPiN, while also highlighting the young players there — especially the Olympic hopefuls. Calling herself the "Johnny Appleseed of ping-pong," Susan said that the show is in the early stages of filming and will be "quite different than anything else that anybody's seen before."
Sporting a leg cast and crutches from a recent injury, Susan was joined at the SPiN event by celebs like Heather Graham, Judah Friedlander, and Olivia Munn. With Susan's show in the works, it looks like ping-pong is set to become the next big fitness trend — are you already playing?
Watch, Pass, or Rent: Get Him to the Greek & Solitary Man
Only have time to see one movie this weekend? BuzzSugar says it's better to get to Get Him to the Greek and skip out on Solitary Man.
Solitary Man: Better Left Alone
Hollywood's latest archetype appears to be the older man in search of himself. We witnessed it most recently with Ben Stiller in Greenberg, and now comes Michael Douglas ready to give the role a go in Solitary Man.

Douglas stars as Ben Kalmen, a 60-something divorcee and former car magnate who now uses his smarmy sales techniques to pick up women half his age — some as young as 18. He has no discretion, often ogling the prospective one-night stands in front of his ex-wife (Susan Sarandon), daughter (Jenna Fischer), and even his grandson (who he insists should never call him "grandpa" in public). It's an obvious case of Peter Pan syndrome, spawned by a heart scare. You almost want to feel bad for the man for his desperate attempt to reclaim his youth, but it's hard to do when he'd rather bed women than get his health checked.
And there is the rub. Douglas could give the performance of his life in Solitary Man (and trust me, he is excellent), but the character of Ben is so hard to like — and unfortunately, the movie is all about him.

What Susan Sarandon and Scarlett Johansson Can't Get Enough Of
When Christopher Walken said, "Less talkie-talkie, more ping-pong" in Balls of Fury, people were listening. Table tennis junkie Susan Sarandon recently opened SPiN, a ping-pong social club that counts Axl Rose and Scarlett Johansson as players. Meanwhile, Ed Norton was so committed to honing his paddle skills that he trained in China. Looks like table tennis has successfully shed its skin as a frat boy sport played only in dusty garages.
Trendiness aside, ping-pong is another old-school way — think croquet and bocce — to spend a fun afternoon with friends and burn some calories. If you don't believe me, play a game or two; you will sweat, I promise. But if you're looking for specifics, the average person burns around 260 calories when playing for about an hour. You can probably find a cheap table off of Craigslist to get you started, which you can jazz up with this cute paddle set from Alice Supply Co. And to make the game even more fun, set your table up outside so you can enjoy the Spring sunshine! Don't worry; if you're hesitant to invest, there is bound to be a table tennis club in your area.
Your serve!

Carey Mulligan on Walking in LA: People Think You're a Hooker
Carey Mulligan, the charming British actress from An Education sat down with Susan Sarandon for an actor-on-actor interview. The two costar in The Greatest, which premiered at 2009's Sundance but was only released in the US this month.
These celebrity-on-celebrity interviews can be amusing, as a celebrity who's been the interviewee hundreds of times suddenly becomes the interviewer. But I have no complaints about Sarandon's job in Interview magazine. She got an amazing anecdote out of Carey about the paparazzi!
Here are some of the highlights:

The Greatest: Doesn't Live Up to Its Lofty Title
Calling a movie The Greatest is setting it up for high expectations. Making it about a family's mourning makes things even stickier. How do you depict grief without getting bogged down in melodramatics? It's a dilemma that The Greatest doesn't quite seem to overcome.

The movie opens with high school seniors Rose (Carey Mulligan) and Bennett (Aaron Johnson) in bed together. After four years of gazing at each other longingly, they finally got up the courage to speak to one another earlier the same day — and now here they are, losing their virginity. Following their roll in bed, they go for a drive where Bennett parks in the road to tell Rose he loves her. And then his car gets hit.
It's a quick run of events that bring the audience face to face with what this film is ultimately about — dealing with death. As Bennett's parents Allen and Grace (Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon) sit in the funeral car with their younger son Ryan (Johnny Simmons), no one says a word. Allen stares ahead in shock. Grace and Ryan look out the windows. For a solid two minutes we feel a sense of the sadness and tension they're going through in a way that seems honest. However, as their story unfolds, rudimentary problems arise. To see what I mean, read more
