Britney Spears and Halle Berry Honor Whitney With a Star-Studded Show

Britney Spears had her second night out in a row yesterday at the "We Will Always Love You" Grammy salute to Whitney Houston held at the Nokia Theatre at LA Live.

Britney Spears had her second night out in a row yesterday at the "We Will Always Love You" Grammy salute to Whitney Houston held at the Nokia Theatre at LA Live. Britney posed on the carpet alongside stars like Halle Berry, Taraji P. Henson, and more Whitney fans. Inside, Britney took the stage, as did Halle, while Jennifer Hudson and Usher were among the performers. On Wednesday night, Britney and her fiancé Jason Trawick stepped out for the City of Hope charity's Spirit of Life Awards. Jason was also on hand to keep Britney company last night. She tweeted a picture of them together at LA Live's backstage, captioning it, "Backstage at The Whitney Houston Tribute. Such a solemn occasion. Jason's doing his best to put a smile on my face."

The social week comes during Britney's busy season of The X Factor, and on last night's episode, we got to see the latest developments for the talent working with Brit and the other judges on the show. Working on Simon Cowell's reality program is helping Britney accumulate quite the fortune — new court documents released this week show Britney Spears's net worth to be over $32 million.

Trend Alert: Kiss-the-Brow Bangs

Full-on fringe is a fashionable way to update your beauty look.

Full-on fringe is a fashionable way to update your beauty look. But inasmuch as bangs have leaned longer for seasons now, this Fall, a number of stars have been wearing them just above the brow line. Note Taraji P. Henson's version; her choppy brow-grazers are a great option for breaking up the heavy line of a blunt bang. Bella Heathcote's tapered variety frame the eyes beautifully, while Jessica Biel's subtly teeter in length to complement her tousled waves. And the best part about this kiss-the-brow style? No more mascara transfer from lash to fringe.

Emmys: Taraji P. Henson

A white and gold pairing makes for a crisp, clean, and striking combination, as Taraji P.

A white and gold pairing makes for a crisp, clean, and striking combination, as Taraji P. Henson proves at the Emmys. Taraji's sequined Blumarine dress features mesh cutouts and gold embossing, and she reflects the latter detailing by choosing a metallic shadow to match. Sparkly accessories by Fred Leighton and Judith Leiber give her look extra glamour while an elegant, to-the-side coiffure makes her stand out amongst the traditional updos we're used to seeing on the red carpet. Does Taraji get a gold star for her efforts?

Michael, Ryan, Malin, and Jennifer Pack in Multiple Premieres in Toronto

Ryan Gosling might have stolen the show at his Toronto Film Festival premiere last night, but there were plenty of other celebs hitting the red carpet up North.

Ryan Gosling might have stolen the show at his Toronto Film Festival premiere last night, but there were plenty of other celebs hitting the red carpet up North. Ryan Phillippe joined Malin Akerman, who was decked out in a bright red dress, to show off their film The Bang Bang Club. She switched gears to chill with Ryan after bonding with Katie Holmes recently on their press tour for The Romantics. Michael C. Hall, meanwhile, had his own costars, Taraji P. Henson and Sarah Silverman, by his side for a screening of Peep Show. Jennifer Connelly joined the list of lovely ladies as well showing off her What's Wrong With Virginia. It's been a star-studded few days for the city, and there are more sightings to come before the festival ends on Saturday.

Check Out Taraji P. Henson's Pretty Day-to-Night Makeover

At the BET Awards, the always-lovely Taraji P.

At the BET Awards, the always-lovely Taraji P. Henson exemplified how to do day-to-night makeup transitions right. For the preshow red carpet action, makeup artist Mylah Morales gave Taraji a beautifully lined, neutral eye look, peach blush, and a pinky-nude lip gloss (Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Delirium). For the show's afterparty, Mylah did a quick change by adding more mascara, sweeping glittery silver shadow on her lids, and switching to Lancôme Color Design Lipstick in Natural Beauty ($22) topped with Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Inferno ($26). It's a pretty easy way to modify the look, but it works out beautifully. What are your tricks for taking your daytime look into the evening?

The Karate Kid: Wax On, Wax Awful

I knew going into this year's remake of The Karate Kid that it would never live up to my appreciation for the 1984 original starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita.

I knew going into this year's remake of The Karate Kid that it would never live up to my appreciation for the 1984 original starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita. I gave it the benefit of the doubt by judging it as if there were no predecessor to compare it to, but it doesn't matter: The Karate Kid fails on its own and as a remake.

The movie certainly strives to set itself apart. This time around, Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan play the karate student and teacher, respectively. As Dre, Smith is a cute young thing. His casting is the best thing the movie has to offer, but that's as far as my compliments for this film go. To hear more about what I didn't like about The Karate Kid, just keep reading

Precious Ladies and Lenny Lead the Way With Carey, Maggie and More at Independent Spirit Awards!

Friday marked the 25th anniversary of the Independent Spirit Awards, which they celebrated by airing it live for the first time.

Friday marked the 25th anniversary of the Independent Spirit Awards, which they celebrated by airing it live for the first time. The precursor to today's Oscars is always a looser affair, but the red carpet had its own impressive ensembles — vote on them with all of Fab and Bella's love it or hate it polls. Lenny Kravitz had a Hollywood up-and-comer, his daughter Zoe, on his arm to support his movie Precious. Carey Mulligan was solo, which is apparently her plan for today as well, which dashes our hopes that she'd bring her cute boyfriend Shia LaBeouf. Vera Farmiga was representing the Up in the Air cast in her red dress.

The winners were able to have a bit of fun both mingling with friends during the big dinner and on stage where anything goes. Mo'Nique and Gabourey Sidibe both took home statues for their work in Precious, which was the night's big winner — see the full list on Buzz. While Mo'Nique is the favorite for tonight as well, in the press room she said she isn't expecting anything. Ryan Reynolds and Maggie Gyllenhaal carried their champagne on stage, and she was also called up to join her Crazy Heart costar Jeff Bridges when he was named best actor. Colin Farrell embraced Elton John as he entered the awards right as they started. During the show, Jeremy Renner checked out the backstage gifting suites and Elle Lounge. Award season's big finale is tonight, and we'll be updating live here and on PopSugar's Twitter from the red carpet and press room!

2010 Independent Spirit Awards: Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson, best known for her role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, posed for this picture at the 2010 Independent Spirit Awards giving what I like to call good face. Can't you see the hint of sass in that photo? I can, and you know what? I think it works. That's because her hair is brilliantly graceful with the side-swept bangs and long-bob cut (lob, if you're nasty). Beyond that her purple shadow, extended lashes, and perfectly-red lipstick all popped. I'm digging it. Are you?
