Clive Owen was suited up last night for the NYC premiere of The Boys Are Back. He doesn't share the screen with any big names, but he was joined on the checkered carpet by Miramax's president, Daniel Battsek. The screening was co-hosted by Bon Appetit, and it brought out stars from the cooking world like Emeril Lagasse and former Top Chef contestant Fabio Viviani. It looked like a fairly lady-less night for the group of guys, which works well to celebrate a film about fathers and sons.

While I'm pretty much guaranteed to cry all over this film, that possibility isn't deterring me from heading to the theaters later this month to watch The Boys Are Back. And yes, it also doesn't hurt that one of my favorite actors, Clive Owen, is starring. Following the journey into fatherhood that Owen experiences after the death of his wife, this film, from director Scott Hicks (Shine), is filmed in South Australia at a home, and a property, that are absolutely gorgeous. See some of my favorite design ideas from the film.

The part of the trailer when a kid jumps into a bathtub made me wince a little, but other than that it's very sweet. The Boys Are Back opens in limited release here in the States on Sept. 25. To see the preview, read more
Clive Owen was in the London Underground Sunday working on his new movie, The Boys Are Back. We haven't seen as much of Clive since he filmed Duplicity with Julia Roberts over the Summer, though it doesn't appear to have diminished anyone's love for him since he's currently holding his own in our Sexiest Men of 2008 poll. Fortunately, there's a whole lot of Clive coming our way in 2009 — on top of the release of his film with Julia, he's set to kick off the Berlin Film Festival in February with The International alongside his costar and new mom again, Naomi Watts.
